It all started at this whole change of forms in year 9, when I (Meag) was introduced to Matt Wayman, a friend of the Pro Boozers and can often be found lurking around county hall with possibly the gayest crew in Maidstone, but Matt's lairy.
That was when I was introduced to Reb (a Pro Boozer) and then eventually we started to hang around with each other out of school from time to time, but the school trip to Germany was the moment we became good mates, and that was possibly the single greatest time of our lives.
From then on, every friday i would meet him and Hutch (a Pro Boozer) by the legendary Tandoori. And i wud ave a bottle of something on me, e.g a strong wine. And Me and Reb would get pissed by the church along tonbridge road. And at that time believe it or not... but Hutch didn't drink with us.
So that became a bit of a habit, and then we would venture up to Gatland, to meet the Gatland/Pitt crew every friday night, and maybe if we could at that time... we would get served at the local shop there known as Ben's. And would then get drunk in Gatland park up by the play area. And this was to become the home of the Pro Boozers for roughly a year or more... it holds many, many a fond memory, and is the Birthplace of Pro Boozers really.
(*personal note* - if anyone would like to visit the amazing Gatland Park, just go towards Barming along the Tonbridge Road, and when u get to the Cherry Tree pub turn left down that road, and then on your right there is a little road with garages at the end, go down there then infront of you is Gatland Park play area. It is a worship place now, and will soon be a memorial place for the Pro Boozers original drinking days)
Then after this i started to go down town with the Reb. And i got to know Trav (a Pro Boozer) properly. I had seen him once or twice at the infamous Bandstand in Brenchley, but never really spoken to him. And Then by this time meeting points and our drinking habits had changed. I would meet Reb by the also Infamous Londis and then venture up to Gatland and meet Trav and Hutch up there.
This is where we... The Pro Boozers really became what we are... this was the turning point... this... was the beginning.
We arrived home to local place Tovil Green. It's a place situated close to Reb and hutches houses and where I used to live. Me and Reb went down to the river so the chavs couldn't see us and began drinking lid shots. I must also take this oppurtunity to ask: Why is it easier to drink vodka neat practically the very first time you have it? Anyway, we drunk a fair bit and went back to Tovil Green landmark Sharps Freeman. This is situated diagonally from Hutches and down the hill from Rebs. I sat on the wall of Sharps while Reb went home to get food. I was probably there for an hour but it felt like about 15 mins. I couldn't really feel the vod coz I had been sitting in the same position constantly. My then girlfriend Hannah then phoned me to ask if her and Steve (lairy kid..aint seen him in ages.) could come and find Reb and me. I agreed, and about 10 mins later I could see them walking down the road behind me. Just as they got to me I turned to look in front to see Reb coming down the hill with a burger in his hand. I stood up to greet him and almost fell on my arse. Now was for the real challenge.. to make it all the way to Gatland (this was before the Gatland era. At this point it was just our local hang-out).
We set off on our way to Gatland. By this time Steve had drank a bit of vod and was feeling it. Him and Reb went ahead and were mainly running in and out of the road. It's a main road too by the way. All i can properly remember of this whole experience was what I've just explained to you, and gay little bits like laying on the ground and shouting at the moon. We eventually made it to Gatland..the Bus Stop to be precise..and I think I just layed there whilst Hannah looked after me. I don't remember what happened to Reb, and the rest, as they say, "is a blur".
