Cumberworth 1 v Cartworth Moor 1
League Game
After the last few weeks it was nice to turn out, on a bitterly freezing afternoon, and actually play football.
With Fred planning several formations, and new tatics, before tha game, he decided, after much consideration to field the 10 men that had turned up.
The only other problem for Fred was who to play in goal. With Nik Caswell drafted into the first team, and no one else answering the phone, Fred turned to ex Cartworth Legend - Dave Reily.
However Dave was busy giving extra lessons to Anna, and it was debatable whether he would come on time!
In another excellent performance from all the team, and after Paddy and Helmy finished their lovers tiff, Cartworth got the point they deserved, with a wonder goal from fitness fanatic Richie Barraclough!
With the ball landing at Richie's feet, he considered running with the ball, beating a few men, and then volleying the ball, into the back of the net. Then he thought some more about the running, and just decided to crack it. Beautiful goal!
The result was probably a fair reflection on the game, credit to Cumberworth who actually wanted to play football!
