First Team League Game
In a game of two halfs, both lasting 45mins, Cartworth tried out their new top secret formation, the 8-1-3-5-2
The new 8 manager formation, consisting of players, managers, spectators, a couple of moles and anyone else with an opinion, started off brightly unlike the headless chickens on the pitch.
Fortunately lady luck, and not the referee(alledgely), were on the side of Cartworth, who took the lead in a moment of pure insparation. The player took down a difficult cross, did a couple of skills, just to show off, and then blasted Cartworth into the lead. One of the best own goals ever scored!!
The crowds hopes where raised, the 8 managers where ecstatic, but then the crowd turned ugly, with the arrival of Trav.
The extra police who had been drafted into Holmfirth, on the anticipation of trouble, where called, along with the emergancy amublance, as Trav was warned he would be ejected from the pitch.
The game continued in its exciting vain, with the referee awarding penalty's and free kicks at will, who wasnt even playing, and generally having a nice day out. Further highlights included NIK's attempts to secure a first team place with a brillant performance as a man afraid of holding a ball.
After match entertainment was provided by Derek and is interesting website story....When Derek was at school, he had a teacher called Mr Webb.

Richie Howarth stood in has second team manager as a hush descended on the valley, mainly because Fred couldn't be heard from Angelsy. In a fine display Cartworth where unlucky not to come away with the points, but at least they came away with all their wheels.
