WORK HISTORY:

Jan. 2002– June 2003 Intern Architect

WHW Architects    Halifax, N.S.
Full range of architectural design work - from concept design to contract administration - on a wide variety of projects including office renovations, site planning for the 2012 Commonwealth Games, tenant fit-up projects for the Halifax International Airport, and a successful competition proposal for a 40 million dollar military project, which is now in development.  Drafting working drawings in AutoCAD 2000 and Architectural Desktop, 3-D computer modelling, physical model making, and presentation work in Photoshop.

Jun.–Nov. 2001 Junior Architect

Bregman + Hamann Architects    Toronto, ON  
Assisted in the creation of proposals, which brought new work to the office. Schematic design for competitions, including 3-D computer modeling.  Preliminary Design and design development on mixed-use projects.  Drafting in AutoCAD R14, and 2000.  Presentations created using Adobe Photoshop and Pagemaker.

Jan. - Aug. 2000 Student  Architect

Hancock, Bruckner, Eng, and Wright Architects, Vancouver, B.C. 
Design development work on mixed-use residential project.  Drafting working drawings in Vector Works.  Detail design and   contract document administration.  Computer modelling and    rendering.

Aug. - Dec. 1998 Student  Architect

Poon McKenzie Architects, Calgary, Alberta 
Assisting with virtually all aspects of the design process in many    different projects; from low, and high-rise residential, to hotels and   schools.  Use of AutoCAD LT  13, building presentation and design   models, design of housing units, site visits, and composing     presentation boards.

Summer 1997 Architect's  Assistant

Sun Dog Architecture, Kamloops, B.C.
Making presentation quality scale models of apartment units from   working drawings to show to perspective buyers.  Valuable    experience of the workings of an architectural firm was attained.

Summer 1996 Multimedia  Technician

Kamloops Active Support Against Poverty Societyís Community  Mapping Project.
Working with the Community Mapping Project Team to map census data of the Kamloops area and use the maps to determine areas where there is a need for low cost housing.  A Web site was created to display the information to the public.

INTERESTS & ACTIVITIES:

My interest in the arts is indulged through drawing and painting in most popular mediums with works displayed in several showings. As well, I play classical guitar.  Skiing, hiking, and basketball are among the many sports that I enjoy.  I have a 1960 Ford Anglia, and a 1967 Chevy Corvair which my Father and I have restored ourselves. 

COMPUTER SKILLS : 

Drafting (CAD) Applications: 
AutoCAD (release 13, 14, 2000, and Desktop).  Advanced level of expertise in both 2-D and 3-D applications.
MiniCAD and VectorWorks (versions 8 and 9) for both PC and Macintosh operating systems.  Extensive experience in both 2-D and 3-D environments.
Artlantis Render 4.5, 3-D rendering, used for photo realistic still and animation rendering.
Form-Z high-end computer modeling package.  3-D design and modeling.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS): 
Atlas Pro - map manipulation using databases.
PC Arc/Info - map creation (digitising) and manipulation using databases (GIS Level 3 awarded in one semester course).

Web Page Design: 
Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) code, BBedit, Clay Basket, Microsoft Frontpage, Adobe PageMill, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape.

Graphic Design: 
Adobe PhotoShop, PhotoDeluxe, Premiere, and Pagemaker: extensive knowledge.
