Giving time for free in addition to sacrifice are the two concepts which the meaning of working as a volunteer is based on. For me, there are many reasons why I have to praise voluntary work. One reason is that volunteering is my duty and responsibility as an active citizen. It's true that no one can oblige me even to pick up a crumpled paper from the ground voluntarily, but my existence as a human being -belonging to a community where I grew up- is quite enough to raise my spirits to do the impossible in order to contribute in my country development.
Furthermore, through volunteering I can participate in achieving my friends’ dreams by giving a hand to every person in need of assistance. Since we live together, we have to help each other.
But indeed, the most important reason that keeps me interested in working as a volunteer is "my happiness!", I find my happiness in taking that way, in making people smile, especially poor people, when I draw smiles on a child's or an old man's or women's face, I feel extremely glad, happy and jubilant.
So, when I work as a volunteer, the first winner is me, I admit that it may be a kind of selfishness, but there is no way to change it because it is in direct connection with my happiness, the big purpose of all in my life. For all these reasons I am ready to exploit every chance to work as a volunteer because my happiness depends on it.
