I found a way for you to get quick updates to my blog. It is though a service called "FeedBlitz". They recently published an imaginative variation of a well known Christmas poem that describes what their service provides. An excerpt of their poem follows. It was copied from their news website.

'Twas the blog before Christmas
'Twas the blog before Christmas, when all through the house
No blogger was stirring, no hand moved the mouse.
The postings were stacked by the tag cloud with care,
In hopes that more readers soon would be there;

The users were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of updates danced in their heads;
And me with my podcast, downloaded like that,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

When out from my laptop there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my desk to see what was the matter.
Away to the portal I flew like a flash,
Tore open the reader and refreshed the cache.

The enclosure attached soon gave me to know
That new entries were here, more news I should know.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a raft of new updates, eight headlines so clear,

With a quick Wiki update, who could it be?
Our investor, of course, a leading VC.
More rapid than eagles his portfolio came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

"Now, Blogspot! Now Feedster! now, Movable Type!
On, FeedBurner, FeedBlitz! (On Marketing Hype!)
To the top of the feed! To the top of them all!
Now blog away! blog away! blog away all!"

As valuations that before the wild bubble do fly,
When they meet with a fund, mount up to the sky,
So up to the top of the investments they flew,
With RSS data, and named it Web 2.

And then, with a twinkling, I read in my news
Each notable posting, contrary views.
As I drew back my hand, and was turning around,
Down to my trackback he came with a bound.

His comments were brief, what was ado?
Were adwords OK? Did users click through?
A bundle of mashups he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

Our AJAX - how it twinkled! Our tagging - how merry!
We socially networked to his brand new BlackBerry!
Our RSS valid, we were well syndicated,
We subscribed to the feeds that we loved (and we hated);

The stump of our web site held tight in our teeth,
The hyperbole encircled his head like a wreath;
We tagged Technorati, we blogged with the best,
On Feedster we surged and made the A-list.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And marked us on Frappr, and Flickr he searched.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
Updated his blog, up our OPML rose;

He sprang to his feed, gave his investments a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!"

**

With best wishes from FeedBlitz to everyone this holiday season!

The Web of Life

The way I see it, life is similar to a web. As far as that goes, my vision of life is different than most people’s views. Our souls are long strands through time. Tied together, through the spirits of our children. Who in time, will tie onto other strands of spirits in time. Our lives are not limited to just one individual’s existence here on earth. Our lives are continuous throughout time. From generation to generation. That is why religions teach us to treat our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit. We are. Our time on the physical plane of existence is limited. The physical world prohibits, no, rather hinders most people’s abilities to remember the spiritual side of life. The one that is everlasting. Everlasting calmness, or everlasting torture, or everlasting non-existence. Everlasting, none the less. Teachings tell us that our souls will live forever. They are. They always have. They always will. Our souls do not live entirely inside our bodies. Our souls grow in the memories of others. When we encounter each other, we effect the other. Every encounter changes the course of each individual’s strand of life forever. When we see something we consider unjust, we hurt. When we see something we consider just, we glow. Our spiritual side of life, outside our physical existence, is without the ability to “feel” the pleasures that the physical side of life has to offer. Most would say that our desire for physical pleasure is our downfall. Actually, it is our feelings of ego that gets in the way of that. The feeling that someone is “loved” more than another. We, as spirits, should love everyone. How we express and share that love is different with each person. We express our love towards our parents differently than we express our love towards our children, our soul mates, or our friends. We weave a web each and every split-second. What the web ends up looking like is beyond our imaginations here on this world. On the spiritual side of life, we are aware of everything. We are one, yet we are us. We, in our physical forms, are able to weave our strands of the ribbon of life as we see fit. We have a choice to hurt, or glow, in our encounters with other spirits. We have a choice to have a life of strong ties, or one of weak knots. Read the teachings that have been passed down throughout time. Keep the web strong as you travel through your portion of time; you never know whom you may influence. Or who may influence you. When your soul leaves your body, and you take a look at your web, will it be tangled or strong as the finest thread?

Background
Topic: Background
I have worked in the trenches in the Architectural, Engineering and Construction Industries since the mid 1970's (draftsman, office manager, projects manager, civil engineering technician, sales associate, etc...). By doing so, I have met many wealthy (and not so wealthy) people and have helped them increase their portfolios. I give excellent advice, but have been too stubborn - lazy - procrastinating about taking my own advice.

Then, last year I found out about Early to Rise E-Zine. It inspired me to start taking my own advice.

I made a New Year's resolution to begin my wealth building program at the beginning of 2005.

The first step I took was to learn from others' accomplishments and advice. So I bought "Automatic Wealth.

I was already inspired (to start taking my own advice) because of my daily dosage of the ETR E-Zine and was anxious to create a web site asap. But when I was only a couple of chapters into "Automatic Wealth" (see link below), I realized that I needed to structure my plan in more detail.

I went into a learning mode. It was hard to do, since I had psyched myself up so much for several months - procrastination being my deadliest influencer. But I forced myself into maintaining my progressive learning program.

While reading "Automatic Wealth" I began to position myself to be a better sales person at my weekend job at a local home-builder's office (Heritage Homes of Mobile). Soon afterwards I was offered two additional workdays at the same business. This worked nicely since I had reached a burn-out point in my fifteen year old full time drafting and technical support business (GFB Services). I decided to take a year off from my home based business and continued my learning program by reading the rest of Michael Masterson's book "Automatic Wealth" (bought at Amazon.com for my review), "Persuasive Online Copywriting" by Bryan Eisenberg, et al, "Action! Nothing Happens Until Something Moves" by Robert Ringer, "Become a Recognized Authority in Your Field - In 60 Days or Less" by Robert Bly, "The Copywriter's Handbook" by Robert Bly, "The Online Copywriter's Handbook" by Robert Bly, and "Getting Started in Sales Consulting" by Herman Holtz. In addition, I have listened/participated in several tele-seminars and have subscribed to other E-Zines covering different aspects of my learning experience. All of this information has added value to my overall progress. Now to the point of my reason of e-mailing Michael Masterson a Thank You Note for helping me see the path to wealth from a different perspective. I already had learned to enjoy happiness without wealth. By the way, I wrote Mr. Masterson that it is doubtful that it would be the last time he would hear from me. That is one of my benefits of reading his e-zines, I feel as though I have known him for years. Now to bring you up to date on my progress: I have already initiated other steps in my action plan, ie: editor of two e-zines at the home building company that I work with (existing clients and prospective clients), pre-construction site development consulting, residential & commercial construction marketing consulting, meditational recordings (yet to be released), business evaluation services, book reviewing, home plan catalogs of the plans I've drawn in the past (yet to be released), volunteering as a citizen action committee member for the new Mayor of Mobile, Alabama - Sam Jones. I plan on putting on free seminars for high school students interested in drafting - engineering - architecture - contracting industries. Also in the planning stages is an e-zine with advice for land development for groups and individuals. One feature of the e-zine are interviews with developers - contractors - engineers - and architects giving advice and insight for novice land developers. I have provided the following links so that anyone interested can benefit from the same resources I have researched. Until next time... I am and will continue to be...Frank
