DEDICATED TO JOHNNY
Poem for Johnny
“WHAT IS IT”
What is it, Johnny, that you see,
When your eyes sparkle bright?
Please tell me, as you stare at me,
What fills your eyes with light?
What is it, that can make your smile,
Like none I’ve ever seen?
And why, do I, for just a while
Glimpse such a golden sheen?
What is it, as you stare above,
When e’er I bend my head,
That you can see and not speak of?
What do you leave unsaid?
What is it, that can make you sway,
That no one else can know?
And why, in a delightful way,
Do you swing to and fro?
What is it, that brings you delight?
That hides, for now, from me?
And yet, is never out of sight,
From someone blessed, like thee.
What is it? Do you hold the key,
To mysteries galore?
Perhaps an angel’s face you see?
Perhaps you see much more!
Love

Whenever I visited Johnny, he would always stare above me, as I called his name. His eyes would glisten and sparkle, beyond anything imaginable. Often, I would ask him, "What do you see Johnny?" Because of this, I have written and dedicated this poem to him. He is the inspiration for this poem and living proof that God does exist.
