Alright, this is really pathetic.

It's one thing to see a celebrity and talk about it. It's quite another to keep a running list. I would never tell any of the people I know here in LA that I have compiled a list of the celebrities I have seen or worked with since I moved here 6 years ago and the one or two I've saw before I moved here.
First of all, my list is laughable compared to, say, my best buddy Dan, who's had Todd Bridges pull a gun on him and saw Gene Simmon's wife breast feeding, or my boss who has worked in Television for about 30 years.
Secondly it's pathetic. What kind of cat loving eccentric spends their time tallying celebrity sightings like some sort of shrine...
In my own defense I had to look up a lot of lists on the Internet to help me remember just who I'd worked with. When people ask me what celebrities I've seen, I can never seem to remember very many of them off the top of my head. So those who asked, this is your fault!

This show pited cover bands (bands who 'cover' material from other artists in bars at weddings etc.) against each other. It was a fun show to work on but it was cut short by 9/11. While it lasted it was a wealth of up close celebrity sightings.
Paul Shafer was the host, what a cheese ball he was. Not that that wasn't already apparent from Letterman.

On my way to work a traffic jam prompted me to take a detour over the Hollywod hills.
The Hollywood hills are a viney jungle of twisting turning dead-ends (called "not a through street" here). It's a briar patch that gets thicker and more confusing the higher you go. The only directions that have any bearing are uphill and downhill. The one street I knew was closed about halfway up leaving me to improvise. No sooner had I detoured my detour when a motorcycle cop parked along side the road flagged me to a stop. The rows of large white trucks made it clear that it was a film being shot on location. After about a minute the cop smiled and waved me on. As I got closer it seemed they were shooting right in the street. A tall woman in a brown overcoat stood by the road. Dressed differently than those around her it was apparent that she was the "talent". Maybe someone good, I thought. I couldn't have been more right. When I drove past I was thrilled to see it was one of my favorite actors, Clair Danes. She was only a couple of feet from my car and looking right at the driving intruding into her set. I later found out she was filming Steve Martin's "Shop Girl"
