Created in the 18th century during the golden period of Kingdom of Gianyar, it is now perform along in medley with other more cotemporary dances, such as Panyembrama, Baris, Tenun and Tambulilingan. 02. BALI - 02. BARONG DANCE This dance performs the struggle between good and evil. The Barong Keket personifies good and Rangda, a queen of the witches, represents evil. The witch uses her magical power to turn the keris daggers in upon their owners, who fall into trance and try to srab themselves. The Barong uses his magic power to protect his followers from hurting their body. In the end, the Barong triumphs and the Rangda retreats to recover her stregnth for the next encounter. The priest then helps the keris dancers out of their trance with holy water. 03. BALI - 03. KECHAK DANCE The most popular to tourists Balinese dance, and also known as Monkey dance. The story is taken the Ramayana Hindu epic. It represents the prince Rama, who, with the help of monkey troop, tries to rescue his wife from the fierce giant evil Rahwana. This is an exciting dance to watch. And is performed by a large group of chanting men sitting in circle, waving their arms and swaying to and from the body, in tune with the chants. 04. BALI - 04.
