Topic: Prayer
Basics
Like magic, prayer is accessed via the Spellbook in the menubar. Once the spellbook is open you must click on the 'Prayer' tab to get a list all of the RuneScape prayers. Unlike magic, prayers can be used anywhere and are only dependent on your level or Prayer Points. On the list of prayers, black items are prayers you can't use yet, white prayers are ones you can, and green prayers are active prayers. To see what a prayer does, simply move your mouse over it.

RuneScape's prayer system is a little like Mana Systems in other games. If a prayer is active, it drains your prayer points depending on its 'Drain Rate' which is also seen by moving your mouse over the prayer. The higher the drain rate, the faster the prayer will use prayer points. Prayer points are regained by recharging at ANY alter with the 'Recharge At' option. Most alters outside the Wilderness are Saradomin Alters. However, there is an Dolmen to Guthix north of Taverly on members and a few Zamorakian alters. If your prayer reaches 0, all prayers turn off and will not work until you have recharged. You can also recharge while a prayer is active.

Prayer Equipment
If you look under your stats in the Statistics menu, right of your weapon aim and power you will see "Prayer:" followed by a number. This represents your prayer equipment. The more Prayer Equipment you're using, the higher this number will be.

Rune Crafting
Topic: Rune Crafting

This skill requires that you have done the Rune Mysteries Quest. It?s a fairly easy quest, and you'll most likely be able to complete it in a max of 30 mins.

To do rune crafting you wont need much tools, just a pickaxe (any kind will do), and the talisman of the rune you want to craft. I'll give the locations of the talismans/alters later on.

To start with you'll have to mine some rune essences. You can only do this in the special rune crafting mining fields. To get to one of these you'll have to get teleported by one of the following people:

Head Wizard in Wizard tower

Aurbury in Rune Shop

Wizard Comperty, East Ardougne

Wizard Distentor in the Magic guild

Brimstail Gnome in the Gnome tree village, underground cave

Once you get teleported you'll be in a cave like thing, there are a couple of rooms with some giant rocks in the middle. Mine the big rocks and you'll get your essences. Bank them, and go back for more, or go straight to the alter.

Talsamans and Altars?

You don?t find the talismans just lying around here and there; you'll have to kill monsters to get them. Some talismans are easy to get, while others are extremely hard to get. Here's a table of what monsters you'll have to kill to get the different talismans.

Picture Name Monsters that drop
Air Goblins
Mind Imps, Wizards and Dark Wizards
Water Wizards and Dark Wizards
Earth Men, Women, Wizards, Dark Wizards, Al Kharid Warriors and Rogues
Fire Wizards, Skeletons and Dark Wizards
Body Guards, Wizards, Dark Wizards and Giants
Cosmic Mysterious Men and Lesser Demons
Chaos Skeletons, Shadow Warriors, Lesser Demons and Fire giants
Nature Hobgolins, Jogers and Moss Giants

Air Altar: Little north-east of Crafting guild, south of Falador.
Mind Altar: Between Goblin Village and Dwarven Mountain.
Water Altar: Lumbridge Swamps.
Earth Altar: North-east from Varrock, near the Jolly Boar Inn.
Fire Altar: Al Kharid desert, south of the mining field.
Body Altar: South of the Monastry, between Barbarian Village and Dwarven Mountain.
Cosmic Altar: Southern part of Lost City.
Chaos Altar: Wilderness level 9, south of the Dark Warriors Castle.
Narure Altar: Southern part of the Karamja Jungle.

Multiple Runes Per Essence

When your rune crafting level gets higher, you'll be able to get more then 1 rune per essence. Here's a table to show you at what level you'll get more runes :) However remember that you'll still only get exp per essence, not per rune... This means if you get to lvl 33 and get 4 air runes for 1 essence, you'll still only get 5 exp.

Tips Tricks and Notes

You can get a talisman, even if you aren?t able to make the rune it refers to yet. Same goes for finding the altars.
First of all, mine your essences at Aubury (Varrock Rune Shop) if you are f2p. He is closer to bank and that saves time. If you are p2p then use the Magic Guild, its very fast. When you are mining take only pickaxe with you.
To make the trips faster, don?t carry anything else other than your pickaxe.

Quick fishing level up
Topic: Fishing
Lv. 1
############################## <-- (supposed to look like nets)
Begin at this level by catching shrimps using your net near Draynor until level 5 (shrimp give only 10exp. But it is worth it). You may also cook the shrimps for cooking exp.

lv. 5
##############################
at level 5; you are given an option to fish with a rod. This is optional; you may stick to net fishing, or the slower but cheaper method. You can buy a rod at gerrants (in port) for 5gp or so, but the bait will cost a lot (I mean ALOT). You may buy them, but if you have decent combat, you may battle men (who are lv. 9 and drop 1 bait) or zombies in edgeville (drops more than men). You may either fish near draynor, barbarian village creek, the river in lumbridge, or pay 30gp and fish in karamja, anyplace will do. At lv. 5 you can only catch sardines, level 10 you may catch herrings(30 exp), and at level 20-30 (I forgot) you can catch pike(80 exp).

Lv. 15
##############################
now you can take a break for angling and net fish again, but this time you will catch tasty anchovies that give a decent 40 exp. if you get to this point, then pat yourself on the back. :'-) *sniff* I proud!

lv.20
##############################
Blah! Blah! No relaxation is over bub, time for fly-fishing! *rimshot* you can buy fly-fishing rods at gerrants for 5 gp, and those who buy the bait-feathers are idiots. Why spend money when you can go to a chicken coop, and over there you can get 30 feathers at a time from killing chickens. After getting about 300 (enough to level up to level 30), you can fly-fish at lumbridge river, or (my suggestion) the barbarian village creek. You can only catch trout at level 20 (60 exp) and salmon (80 exp) at level 30.

lv.35
##############################
finally! Your hard work has played off and now you don't have to angle anymore (I mean it this time). I suggest you to sell all of your old fishing equipment (rods, nets, bait, feathers, etc.) and buy a harpoon. Get 30gp in your inventory because you can only harpoon in karamja.
When you get there go to the support (I call it a pier) and click on the sparkling water. Yay! Tuna!!! Catch a few of these (100exp.) and sell them to the general store. If they are high in stock, cook them and sell them (level 30 cooking minimum) for your trip back.
ALWAYS bring raw tuna to mainland because you can sell a lot at a light inventory and you can
sell them to gerrant and could make K's if low in stock!

lv.40
##############################
this is my personal favorite way of fishing--trapping! You get to trap lobsters, cook 'em make them into certs and sell for a very high price. All you need is a lobster pot, they look like creels and can be bought at gerrant (I?m tired of saying that b45t4rd's name) for about 20gp each. Go to karamja again and right-click this time to pot lobsters. Happy hunting! =P

p.s. why do raw lobbies look cooked and vise-versa?

lv.50
##############################
this is your best fish you can catch if thou art a free server-swordfish! These, like the lobster, can be made into certs, raw of cooked; but unlike the lobster, these are more valuable. To catch these, take out or buy another harpoon and go to karamja *Hawaiian music*.
At the support you may catch swordfish.

*fanfare* congratulations! You have mastered fishing ...and read through this without falling asleep...LOL
