6' 0"  200 lbs.  The only thing surprising about Kenji Johjima is if he wasn't starting for someone right around June13th of this year.  A proven, veteran catcher, Johjima can make an immediate impact for someone.  A nice blend of contact and power, Johjima is an all-around player.  In his rookie season, he set a Western League record with 25 homers and led the league with 63 RBI; that year he became the second player in Western League history to hit grand slams in consecutive at-bats.

5' 11" 195 lbs.  Thomas Benton was regarded as Mr. Hustle on his team, diving for any and every ball within sight.  At the plate, Benton was that guy that makes a career off of fastballs.  Thomas has been a little disappointing in his development because of his stubbornness in changing his plate approach.  Scouts aren't sure whether or not some big league direction will ever change that.  Still, He could make someone a good bench or role player, as Thomas is very effective against left-handers.

Leonard Pope is a high end prospect with low end character.  Most of his young life has been spent in one type of trouble or another.  There's no doubting his physical prowess, but scouts just aren't sure his head is in the game.  Although the fact that he stayed with it and graduated high school, albiet two years after he should have, might be a sign to a rededication to his life.  Offensively he has raw power and a Griffey-like swing.  Defensively he can make the difficult play look easy.

6' 0"  190 lbs.  The 26 year old Seibu Lions star is itching to play in the SLB, and the SLB is itching to get its hands on a young star like Matsuzaka.  He is so good that, even without being the best player in the draft, he still may be the #1 overall pick.  Matsuzaka is such a stud that in high school he threw a 250-pitch, 17-inning complete game in the semifinal and then pitched a no-hitter in the final. He threw close to 400 pitches in two days.
