Articles of Faith stating what we believe about the faith “… which
was once delivered unto the saints.”… Jude 1:3
BIBLE
WE
BELIEVE the Holy Bible, the collection of 66 books, from Genesis to
Revelation, were written by holy men who were divinely inspired by God.
It is God
supernaturally preserved the scriptures in the English language, as
found in the Authorized King James Version, from Hebrew and Greek
languages and that it is without error.
It is the only complete and final revelation of the will of God
to man and the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. (2
Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21,Proverbs 30:5-6; John 17:17; Hebrews
4:12-13)
GOD
WE
BELIEVE that the only True and Holy God is revealed in the Bible.
He is a Spirit, eternally existing in three persons: God the
Father, God the Son, and Holy Spirit.
Each has equal identity and different responsibility for the
purpose of redemption; The Father plans, the Son executes, and the Holy
Spirit reveals and this three are united perfectly in three persons in
Godhead. This triune God of
the Bible is clearly revealed to us in the incarnate Son, Jesus Christ
our Lord and Savior. (Genesis 1:26; 1 John 5:7; John 16:7-11)
SALVATION
WE
BELIEVE that salvation is a free gift of God through faith alone.
Anything that man will add an effort;
good work, church membership, sacrament, in order to save himself
is “another gospel” that is under God’s curse. The Gospel is the
good news that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and
that he was buried, and that he arouse again on the third day according
to the Scriptures. It is
purely God’s way through the finished work of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ that shed His blood for the remission of our sin.
(Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 1:6-10; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Hebrews
9:22)
ETERNAL
SECURITY
WE
BELIEVE that eternal security begins the moment one receives the Lord
Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior by faith.
It is God who gives eternal life and therefore it cannot attain
and lost by any man’s effort. The
believer is dwelt and sealed by the Holy Spirit.
It is maintained by grace and power of God through faith.
It is still God who will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ
and therefore we are to “work out” and not “work for” our
salvation. (John 1:12; 1
Corinthian 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; 1 Peter 1:3-5; Philippians 1:6; 2:12)
CHURCH
WE
BELIEVE that the visible church, the local assembly of believers, is a
congregation of regenerated, baptized believers and governed by the law
of Christ, the Head of the church.
Its only scriptural officers are pastor (bishop or elder) and
deacon. Its two ordinances
are believer’s baptism by immersion, and the memorial of the Lord’s
supper until He comes for His church.
It is an independent local autonomy, governed internally and
responsible only to the Lord Jesus Christ.
It is design to glorify God, edify the saints and to be
missionary and evangelistic in spreading the saving grace of our Lord
Jesus Christ. The New
Testament speaks also of church as the body of Christ, the divine
purpose to make Jew and Gentile a wholly new thing. (Matthew 16:18;
Ephesians 3:1-6, 5:23; 1 Corinthians 11:2; Act 2:41-42;Colossians 2:12)
SEPARATION
WE
BELIEVE that the Bible teaches that a believer in Christ should be
separated unto God from worldly and sinful practices; separated from
apostasy and unbelief; separated from disobedient brethren and doctrinal
compromise with respect to all ministry and service.
(Romans 12:1-2; 1 John 2:15-17; 1 Timothy 6:3-5; 2 Timothy
2:19-22; 1 Corinthians 15:33; 2 Thessalonians 3:6)
HEAVEN
AND HELL
WE
BELIEVE that heaven is a real place, the throne of God, of eternal
blessedness prepared by God for those whose garments have been “made
white” through faith in the shed “blood of the Lamb”.
It is a place where we can hear unspeakable words which is not
lawful for a man to utter. (Matthew
5:34; 2 Corinthians 12:2-4; Revelation
7:13-17)
WE
BELIEVE that hell is a real place of eternal suffering prepared and
reserved by God for Satan and his fallen angels. They shall be tormented
day and night in the
presence of holy angels and of the Lamb.
It is also a place prepared for those whose names are not written
in the “book of life”. There
is no intermediate state in which the unsaved can atone for his own
sins. (Revelation 14:10, 20:11-15; 2 Peter 2:4; Luke 16:19-31)
THE
SECOND COMING
WE
BELIEVE that according to His promise, Jesus Christ shall come again in
two stages; the Rapture – the personal, pre-millenial, pre-tribulational
and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in a twinkling
of an eye from heaven. He
will receive the resurrected bodies of those who have “died in
Christ” and also those who are presently alive and “in Christ” to
meet them “in the air” and this will precede the great tribulation
period. After seven years
of tribulation on earth, The Faithful and True will come again bodily
together “with His saints” to execute the judgment before the
inauguration of His earthly millennial kingdom. The redeemed in Christ
in their resurrected and glorified bodies will receive their rewards and
dwell forever with the Lord while the unsaved will be separated from the
presence of God and will be thrown forever to a place of everlasting
fire together with Satan and his fallen angels. (Acts 1:11; 1
Thessalonians 4:16-17; 1 Corinthians 3: 11-14, 15:50-51; Titus 2:13;
Revelation 19:11-16, 20:4-15)
