10. Delineating a Horoscope

Every astrologer has his own way of delineating a chart. For a beginner, however, the prospect of chart interpretation can be quite daunting. The easiest way to delineate a chart is to use a logical, concise format combined with one’s intuition. For example, to describe a person who has her Sun in Aquarius in the seventh house, one might say:-

‘The Sun is posited in Aquarius in the seventh house. This indicates that she is a very knowledgeable, friendly character, who puts a great deal of effort into her personal relationships.’

Here is a 35 step procedure to delineate any horoscope. If, by chance, the time of birth is not known, then simply concentrate on the planet and sign, and omit the house interpretation.

3. What aspects does the Sun form to other planets?
4. What sign and house is the Ascendant posited in?
5. What aspects does the Ascendant form to other planets?
6. What sign and house is the Midheaven posited in?
7. What aspects does the Midheaven form to other planets?
8. What sign and house is the Moon posited in?
9. What house is ruled by the Moon?
10. What aspects does the Moon form to other planets?
11. What sign and house is the Mercury posited in?
12. What house is ruled by the Mercury?
13. What aspects does the Mercury form to other planets?
14. What sign and house is the Venus posited in?
15. What house is ruled by the Venus?
16. What aspects does the Venus form to other planets?
17. What sign and house is the Mars posited in?
18. What house is ruled by the Mars?
19. What aspects does Mars form to other planets?
20. What sign and house is the Jupiter posited in?
