I was born January 30, 1961 at 5.11pm in Little Rock, Arkansas. I have an identical twin sister who was born about 5 minutes before me. I was born during a Blue Moon, which occurs whenever there are two Full Moons in one calendar month. Interesting, 1961 was only one of three years in the 20th century when there were two Blue Moons in the year because Blue Moons usually occur only about once every 2 ½ years. I am an Aquarian with a Leo Moon and Ascendant, giving me many magnanimous qualities not necessarily attributed to the friendly Water Bearer. In addition, my Venus is exalted by sign and degree in Pisces, which predisposes me to at least a touch of unrealism when it comes to that which I desire. My North Node in Virgo makes me a bit of a workaholic, which I need to be, considering the fact that my North Node is conjunct Pluto in the second house of my horoscope, indicating that I must work very hard to transcend the many obstacles that I have faced in my life. Uranus retrograde in my first house reveals that I have had to make many choices that have inextricably altered the course of my life on many occasions.
I left Little Rock at 18 years of age to join the United States Air Force, and this is where I received much of my training in and out of the classroom. I was trained as a Wideband Maintenance Technician and went to Texas, Mississippi, the Azores, Florida, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. While in the military, I was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Studies, as well as qualifications as a communications-electronics technician.
I eventually settled in England, and that is where I entered the next phase of my life. I have been living and working in Basingstoke, Reading and London for the past 19 years. Working in business, I have been able to stay grounded in what is often a very unstable world. At the time of this writing I have been awarded a MSc in Finance and NVQ IV in Accounting.
While I have always had an interest in the esoteric arts, it did not awaken in me until the 1980’s, when I studied Cabala, Runes, I-Ching, Numerology, Tarot and Astrology. While I have studied many subjects relating to the New Age movement, such as Reiki and Shiatsu, in an effort not to spread myself too thin I have made it a policy to concentrate on only three or four disciplines, such as Astrology, Tarot, Numerology, and Cabala. Because all of the sciences are intricately linked, I try to use them in a complimentary fashion to help other people to solve those problems that they will inevitably encounter as they continue on their Earth walk.
I have been published in magazines in America and England, to include Today’s Astrologer, Prediction Magazine and American Astrologer.
I have taught Tarot classes at the local adult education courses in Basingstoke and have worked as a reader at various psychic fairs in the area. I have also performed readings for Llewellyn Publications at the London Book Fair.
The other publications I have written include:-
*The Tarot Companion, 2000, Llewellyn Publications
*House Rules, 2001, American Federation of Astrologers

A Comparative Analysis of Rules versus Principles Based Disclosure in British and American Financial Markets
Introduction
Being an astrologer trained in the techniques of Western astrology, I learned by rote memorisation the qualities and triplicaties of the twelve signs that form our zodiac.
Being an Aquarius, my Sun sign was allocated to the element of Air. Although I am quite knowledgeable on a wide of variety of subjects, I am by no means an intellectual. As a case in point, my former husband, who incidentally is a Scorpio who only married me for the money he thought he could get out of me, once commented derisively to me, ‘You know, for someone with a degree, you sure aren’t very brainy.’ Although my husband meant the statement to be a slur to my character and intellectuality, what he said was absolutely true. I am not very brainy, but much more intuitively emotional in my day-to-day dealings, which is in complete contradiction to what we are taught about the sign of Aquarius.
Another attribute of the sign of Aquarius is they are generally quite friendly, sociable souls. While one could correlate social activities with the element of Air, I personally feel that since a fair amount of feeling and sentimentality must be involved in any social event, it would be more appropriate to designate it to the element of Water.
The sign of Aquarius is associated with a man carrying a jug of water, and he is aptly named the ‘Water Bearer’. Because Water is a prominent part of this sign make-up, it is only fitting the sign should be allocated to the element of Water, and not the element of Air, which is what most astrologers today are taught.
My former husband was born under the Sun sign of Scorpio, which traditional Western Astrology assigns to the element of Water. The Scorpion itself is land based animal, and being of the arachnid class of animal, is believed to have been one of the first beings to populate the Earth. Typical of the sign, he was obsessed with sex, so much so that it became a compulsion for him and he had difficulties with law enforcement officials because of his behaviour. Any sex therapist will say that sex is all in the mind, which is associated with the element of Air. If a person is not in the correct mindset, it will be totally impossible for him to have a satisfactory sexual encounter with anyone.
Another characteristic commonly associated with Scorpio is introspection. Again, introspection, as well as retrospection, is an intellectual pursuit that requires mental activity, and therefore more appropriately associated with the element of Air than the element of Water.
In addition to his sexual compulsions, my husband was obsessed with the idea of getting revenge. While at an initial glance, one might assume revenge to be emotive, but the fact of the matter is a great deal of thought is put into avenging any real or imagined wrong. He wasted so much of his time dreaming up ways to get even with anyone who he felt had slighted him that he failed to develop and evolve as a human being. It is such a shame really, because he had so much drive and ambition within himself he could have achieved great things, but instead he focused his energies in compulsively embarking upon the more malefic attributes of his Sun sign.
Another animal associated with the sign of Scorpio is the eagle, a predator bird much more closely associated with the element of Air than Water.
Another enigma is those individuals who are born under the sign of Capricorn. Capricorns are such misunderstood beings because they have been wrongly allocated to the element of Earth, and therefore feel they need to maintain the stoic stiff upper lip that will ultimately lead to emotional outbursts at the most inappropriate times. The fact is ancient oriental cave drawings of the zodiac depict a crab type creature in the place where Capricorn is posited in western astrology. The original term for Capricorn actually meant sea monster, and even later portrayals of this animal depicted a sea goat, where the glyph of Capricorn ‘’ represented the head of a goat and the tail of a serpent. It was only in later times that the fluidic association of this animal was abandoned altogether, and the terrestrial mountain goat replaced the seagoat. Perhaps if those born under the sign of Capricorn were allowed to embrace the emotional side of them, they would become more fully evolved beings, able to care for others in the same manner they care for themselves.
Two nations that have a special relationship with one another are the United States of America and the United Kingdom. The United States has traditionally been depicted as a Cancerian nation, which western astrologers associate with the element of Water. People therefore assume that since America was born under a watery sign then it should be a caring, sharing, and emotive nation. The fact is the United States of America has one of the fiercest; most advanced fighting forces in the world, which presents somewhat of a dichotomy when one attempts to identify with the loving qualities of this country. It is true the United States will lend a helping hand whenever needed, but it is important to keep in mind the government will not take any action whatsoever unless it feels it is in the nation’s best interests to do so. This tendency to do what will benefit the nation as a whole, as opposed to individuals or groups of people, is one of the reasons why the American government takes many controversial stances that do not necessarily show them in a good light with the rest of the world.
The Moon, being the second magnificent luminary to the human eye is actually a light that man has used from ancient times to mark the passing of time, predict the weather and growing seasons, and even predict future events. While it is true the close proximity of the Moon affects the tides and the fluidic changes in plants and animals, it is first and foremost considered to be a light by which people are able to see during the dark hours of the night. It is for that reason the Moon most appropriately corresponds with the element of Fire.
It is no secret that many world leaders, such as John F Kennedy and Bill Clinton, have Cancer on the cusp of their Midheaven. The reason for this is because they aspired to great things in their life and they needed the drive and energy, as depicted by the element of Fire, to help them to achieve the goals they had set for themselves. It is interesting to note that 47% of the American presidents had Cancer on an angular house cusp, which means that in addition to the nurturing qualities that are attributed to this sign, it is nevertheless a sign of great leadership potential.
The United Kingdom has been traditionally associated with the sign of Capricorn, and therefore is commonly recognised as a nation of business and enterprise. One great thinker of economics, capitalism and enterprise hailed from the UK was Adam Smith, the Scottish philosopher and economist who proposed the theory of a lassie fare economy. In his famous treatise, The Wealth of Nations, Adam Smith argued that private competition free from regulation produces and distributes wealth better than government-regulated markets. Since 1776, when Smith produced his work, his argument has been used to justify capitalism and discourage government intervention in trade and exchange. Smith believed private businesses seeking their own interests organise the economy most efficiently, “as if by an invisible hand.”
The other side of the United Kingdom’s Capricornian solar sign is the great caring capacity they have. The nation has implemented policies that are designed to take care of those individuals who are not able to take care of themselves, such as a socialised medical system that affords free medical care to everyone regardless of their ability to pay. They also accept asylum seekers from all over the world, which has caused the nation to become one great racial melting pot in the world.
I hope I have presented the above assumptions in a manner that would allow even the most ardent student of Western astrology to see there are other ways to approach the concept of the elemental attributes of each sign. Each method of astrology has its merits and can be used accurately by any competent practitioner. The reason for this is because astrology is an intuitive science, where people can use their perceptions to guide them along the path to an enlightened forecast.
While the traditional Western astrologer may feel more comfortable using the symmetrically assigned elemental system because they have a more mathematical and scientific feel, some astrologers who rely more on their intuition, however, may feel more at ease using the ancient elemental assignments that arose from Mesopotamia, which is believed to be the cradle of Western civilisation.
