Pistol The pistol has a 12 round clip, but is the most powerfull weapon in the game. It has a 2x zoom, and when used at long ranges it should be fired semi-automatically to tighten the spread of bullets. The least amount of bullets needed are 3 to kill someone but it is more common that 4-6 shots are needed due to leading and lag of the server.
Assault Rifle The assault rifle is usually included in the starting equimpent, and is usually the first to be traded with another weapon when in the field. It is generally used by beginnners who have not found out that the pistol is better than the assault rifle (because in most games the assault rifle is more poweful than the pistol. It has a 60 round clip, and should only be used when out of pistol ammo or when the enemy is about two feet away.
Shotgun The shotgun fires 8 gauge rounds, with a total of 12 can be held within the shotgun at one time. Each shot shoots 15 smaller bullets, which means that a point blank shot can kill imediatly. When beyond 5 meters, the shotgun is completly in-effective. But due to the insta-gib (1 shot kill or 'immediate death) nature of the shotgun, it is good in base defense were most battles are within 5 meters.
Sniper Rifle The sniper rifle is also an insta gib weapon because 1 shot to the head will immediatly kill or 2 to the chest or limbs, but due to the small clip size and low chance of getting a sniper rifle, there won't be many oppurtunities to get your hands on a sniper rifle.
Rocket Launcher The third and final insta-gib weapon is the rocket launcher. Each clip holds 2 rockets, and with each rocket, there is enough power to stop a tank in it's tracks. The rocket can easily turn the tide of battle in smaller maps, and usually the person that controls the rockets will control the map.
Flame Thrower The flame thrower is one of the weapons that was not in Halo Xbox, but still plays a minor role in Halo PC since its almost as dangerous to the owner as to the target. It can sustain a steady stream of fire for a couple of seconds before the weapon over-heats and needs to be cooled down. This weapon is very effective against a banshee for two reasons: First, it will block the banshees line of sight so it won't know where you are, and secondly it will hurt the banshee even after it is out of range because the banshee will be on fire.
Plasma Pistol The plasma pistol is probably the least used weapon out of all the weapons in Halo because it is just plain old weak. It servers only one purpose: If you build up the charge for long enough, then it can take out the entire shields of the enemy. This is especially usefull when the enemy has an overshield, since getting rid of the overshield will take an entire clip of pistol ammo if every shot is on target, which rarely happens.
Fuel Rod Gun The fuel rod gun is another addition only to Halo PC, although in Halo Xbox it was only used by the enemies in single-player mode. The fuel rod gun (FRG for short) is the best weapon for taking out Warthogs, since it does not rely on clips of ammo, it can have many more shots than the rocket launcher. So if you miss the first 2 shots with the FRG, you still have 4 more.
Plasma Rifle The plasma rifle is very powerfull for close range, since it fires plasma which slows down all movement and turning of the target upon impact. The plasma rifle is best when there is an enemy infront of you so you can just keep him still until you get close enough to him to slam the rifle over his head.
Needler The needler is probably the all around weakest weapon in halo. The shots are so easy to dodge, because the shots go so slow, even though they will 'home' into the target. It is not the least used weapon in Halo because it does serve a purpose: If you come across a target that is standing still, and he dosn't see you, you can fire a clip of needler ammo at him. The delay between the time the impact of the needle and the explosion, gives enough time to have all 20 needles reach the target before the target knows he's being shot at.
