Fast and Furious Snooker
World Championships 2011
Results so far have proved what the press
have spoken about for weeks, The Crucible Curse exists and was alive and well
for Neil Robertson.
Neil last year's World Champion, struggled
badly with his game, but held himself together in the way you would expect of
the Australian.
He battled away hard, in his attempt to
keep up with youngster Judd Trump, who is on a high from his impressive win in
China a fortnight ago.
Its hard to believe that Neil, failed to
gain a good distance in the first round match and he had no come back, like his
2010 attempt when he was 11-5 down to Martin Gould and came back to win 13-12.
This time there was only one occasion
where the Australian was ahead and he couldn't keep hold of that lead as Judd,
broke down his defences and took the match 10-8.
10-8 appears to be Judd's winning score,
as that was the amount he won by against Mark Selby, in China.
Other updates
Ali Carter appeared to have a white wash
over Dave Harold Saturday afternoon. Carter's game play has upped no end, even
though he hasn't won a match since the Shanghai Masters in the Summer.
Ali seems to have come of age and be a
viable threat around the table, he has been at the crucible before and faced
finals with Ronnie O'Sullivan, nothing phases him and that will do him well,
this year.
Dave Harold managed to pull one frame back
before end of play of the afternoon session, tonight will see the conclusion.
Ali unsurprisingly is the favourite!
on the same spirit, Shaun Murphy was white
washing Marcus Campbell, in much the same light as Carter. Although when the
match ended the first half last night 8-0 to Murphy the match will resume this
afternoon, surely Campbell can get a score on the board.
Ding's First round match with Jamie
Burnett is following in the same light as yesterdays matches, Ding is currently
7-0 up, but Burnett is at the table at the moment and finally has one point on
the board but no frame as yet.
Jamie Cope is looking good, for going
through to his second round. Andrew Padgett has made an excellent start to his
Crucible career, the experience will do him wonders.
