Ex-soldier
further remanded on more gun, ammo charges
JAMES
Gibson, the other ex-Guyana Defence Force (GDF)
member facing a joint charge of unlawful
possession of firearm with Oliver Hinckson in
Georgetown, appeared at Reliance Court, East Canje,
Berbice, on a similar charge yesterday.
He
was further remanded to prison by Magistrate Geeta
Chandan on charges also of having ammunition
without licences.
The
accused, who was taken to the court on an arrest
warrant, was not required to plea to the
indictable offences allegedly committed on October
26, 2002.
The
allegations against Gibson are that, at Rosignol
Ferry Stelling, he had a self-loading rifle, a
breach block, a shield, nine live 9 mm rounds and
38 live .762 mm bullets.
The
cases have been transferred to Blairmont Court, at
West Bank Berbice, too, where Gibson has to make
another appearance on June 19.
