A/N Sorry, I’m dropping the honorifics. Too confusing for me. What ones I should use and stuff.
The next day . . .
"Huh," Haru blinked in confusion. "How’d I get here?"
Hearing someone snort, Haru turned around.
"Lost again?" Momiji giggled. "You and your since of directions. Where were you heading?"
They were standing in front of a graveyard. The same graveyard, Kyoko Honda was at. Haru thought he had been heading in the direction of Shigure’s house. He looked at Momiji confused. Why was Momiji here?
"Shigure’s," Haru told Momiji walking over to him.
Momiji smiled, taking Haru’s hand. "Come on, I’ll show you the way. Say, why were you going there anyway?"
Haru looked down at his and Momiji’s clasped hands and flushed, "Momiji," he rolled his eyes, tapping Momiji on the head, "don’t tell me you forgot."
"I for . . . " Momiji’s eyes went wide, "Oh yeah. Duh. Kisa’s 14th birthday."
Haru nodded, "right, almost all the Zodiac will be there and," Haru gulped, "a bunch of screaming girls and boys."
"What? Shigure’s letting actual non Zodiac members to come? That’s a huge risk. Please tell me Hatori will be there."
Haru nodded, "yeah. Ready to zap anyone’s memory."
"Good, well come on." Momiji pulled on Haru’s hand and the two headed for Shigure’s.
Kisa smiled at the cake. "Aww, look, a little tiger."
All the zodiacs smiled, sharing a inside joke with Kisa. Kisa’s friends didn’t get it and shrugged it off. To them it was no big deal, just a tiger shaped cake. But to Kisa, she knew it was Shigure’s and the others way of saying they cared.
Naji, Kisa’s best friend, smiled really big, grabbing Kisa in a hug, "go on, birthday girl, blow out the candles."
Kisa did just that, smiling when everyone started to clap.
"Time for cake," Shigure yelled, producing a knife out of nowhere. "Kisa gets first bite." He started to cut the cake and placed a piece on Kisa’s waiting plate.
Everyone watched as Kisa took a big bite, waiting for her reaction. Her eyes went wide and she moaned, "yummmm, that’s so gooooood. Who made it?"
A tall blonde girl in the room raised her hand.
"Uo, you made it," Kisa smiled, "I didn’t know you baked."
Uo smiled, "well it’s hard to say no to Tohru."
Kisa nodded, "too true."
Tohru looked at the two girls and started to pout, "you two act as if I’m always asking you to do horrible things."
"Aww, poor Tohru," Hana said, patting the girl on the shoulder.
Kyo rolled his eyes, making sure he was as far away from the Yankee and the psychic as he could be. Why did they come anyway?
Yuki rolled his eyes, seeing Kyo grumbling something under his breath, what’s that neko going on about now?
---
After everyone ate their cake, a small girl in Kisa’s class stood up, a shy look on her plump face, "is there going to be dancing? This is a party, right?"
All the zodiacs paled, "ah, right," Shigure gulped, going over and turning the radio on. "But I warn you, since I’m the adult in charge, if you’re under fourteen I better not see any closeness. Meaning at least a foot between you and your dancing partner."
"Wow, Kisa your cousin’s strict." Naji whispered. "Come on dance."
Kisa breathed a sigh of relief, glad one of the boys didn’t ask her first. "Okay, but don’t step on my feet."
Naji laughed and grabbed Kisa’s hand.
Slowly other kids stood up and asked their classmates to dance. So far non of the Zodiac were approached by the opposite sex.
Kyo was in the process of slipping away, when someone tapped him on the shoulder, "your electric signals seem to be all over the place today, Kyo. Care to dance?"
Kyo paled, looking at Hana. He was terrified of this girl. "I guess," he said, too scared to say no, else she zap him.
Hana nodded, and put her arms around Kyo’s shoulders. Kyo tensed, afraid she’d lean up and hug him, like a lot of girls did when they slow danced. He relaxed when she didn’t and danced along with the slow song.
Uo smiled at Hana and went in search of a dance partner for herself. "Say, Ritsu?"
Ritsu jumped, and started to shake, when Uo got closer to him, "y. . . . yes?"
"Care to d. . . . "
Hatori noticed Ritsu’s distressed state and walked over to the couple, "sorry Uo, I already asked him to dance."
Ritsu and Uo’s eyes went wide. Ritsu started to blush madly, fumbling with the ends of his sleeves.
"Oh, no problem," Uo said, walking away, looking throughly amused.
"I’m soooo sorry that you had to save me. To have to go through the trouble . . . " Ritsu started.
"Ritsu, be quiet. Just dance."
Hatori raised an eyebrow when Ritsu turned three shades of red, nodding. "Okay," he meekly said.
From his vintage point, Shigure stated to giggle into his hands, watching as Hatori put his hands on Ritsu’s waist, and Ritsu shyly wrapped his arms around Hatori’s neck.
"What’s so funny, Shigure," Yuki asked, coming up to the dog?
Shigure pointed, and Yuki’s eyes went wide. "Cute, huh?"
A smile quirked at Yuki’s lips, "yeah. Ritsu looks like a shy girl on a first date."
"Well you know he’s never been on a date."
Yuki smirked, "maybe he will soon."
"Yeah," Shigure shook his head, "I don’t know if Hatori’s ready to date anytime soon."
Yuki nodded, "Kana?"
"Yeah. It really hurt him." Shigure leaned over to Yuki, "but you know," he whispered, "Hatori does like guys. I learned that in my highschool days."
Yuki blushed, "what did you guys do . . . wait, I don’t want to know.’
"Tut, tut, tut, Yuki. I didn’t do anything. If you really want to know, ask your brother." Shigure nodded to where Ayame was, in a heated talk with Haru and Momiji.
"Eww," Yuki turned green, "I don’t even want to think about that."
Shigure sighed. "Be carful, Yuki. Your talking about my," Shigure blushed, "boyfriend."
Yuki’s eyes went wide, "what? I always thought you guys were only joking around."
"Oh no," Shigure wiggled his finger in front of Kyo’s face, "we very much mean everything, but play it up as a joke for the little ones."
Snorting, Yuki rolled his eyes, "Tohru, Kyo and I are 16, we’re old enough to understand that sort of thing. For that matter so are Momiji and Hatsuharu."
"Well duh. Hatsuharu is gay."
Yuki nodded, "don’t we all know that? He used to love me, ya know. I’ll never understand why someone would fall in love with me."
Shigure smirked, "well you are one hot little nezumi. That’s one reason. But other then that you’re kind, caring, and all that other stuff people like."
Yuki had lost him when he said ‘hot’ "huh," he blushed, "no I’m not."
Shigure rolled his eyes, "oh, yeah and you just happen to have a whole school of girls and some guys might I add worshiping you, Prince Yuki."
"He’s telling the truth, Prince," Uo said, coming up behind them, "can’t say, I’m one of those crazy fangirls though. I only see you and the others here as friends. Care to dance?"
Yuki blushed at both Shigure and Uo’s comments and nodded, going to dance with Uo.
"Poo, now I’m all alone," Shigure pouted.
"I can fix that," A silky voice purred in his ear.
Shigure jumped, turning and facing Ayame. "Oh, Aya, you scared me."
"Dance?" Ayame reached out his hand, taking Shigure’s.
Shigure nodded, and giggled like a school girl.
On the other side of the room, Momiji started to pout, "everyone’s dancing but me and you Haru. I’m so ugly nobody asked me."
"Momiji, that isn’t true!" Haru blushed. He hadn’t meant to shout like that.
Momiji smiled, blushing, "thanks Haru, but I’m still a wallflower."
"Well so am I. But, we don’t have to be. I mean . . . you . . . " Haru said something else, but it was to quiet for Momiji to hear.
"What, Haru?"
"You could dance with me."
A/N Whoops, I left ya all with a cliffhanger. So what will Momiji say? Please review!
