Earlier at the dance-
Yuffie sighed, "Sora, I can't help but notice you don't seem to be having any fun dancing with me." The ninja wasn't insulted that her friend wasn't into her, she after all only thought of him as just a friend.
"Sorry, Yuffie," Sora said, tearing his eyes away from... Sora blinked. 'Why was I staring at Riku and his date?'
Yuffie had noticed where Sora was looking and raised an eyebrow, "either you really like Eiko or you like Riku."
"What!?" Sora looked at Yuffie like she was crazy, "I don't like that purple haired girl." He defended.
Yuffie laughed, "I would think you would be more quick to defend yourself about liking Riku."
Sora blinked, his cheeks burning red, "oh yeah," he laughed nervously, "I-I don't like Riku either."
"Liar liar pants on fire; I know you like Riku. Everyday at school all you do is look look look at Riku and only Riku and when you guys talk you always have a cute blush on your face."
Sora looked down, knowing what Yuffie said was true. He was always seeming to look at Riku and he always seemed to blush a lot when around him. 'But could that mean I really like him?'
Yuffie rolled her eyes. Sometimes Sora could be sooo slow. "Come on," Yuffie said, pulling Sora toward Riku and Eiko.
"Hey, Eiko, can I talk to you for a sec?" Yuffie grabbed the smaller girl by the arm and started to drag her away. "Riku do me a favor and keep Sora busy while I talk with Eiko." Seeing the confused look on Riku's face, she made a 'duh' face, "I mean by dancing."
Sora blushed, "bossy, isn't she?" he said, "haha, anyway don't listen to her. I'll just go sit and wait for her to come back..." Sora made as if to walk away, only to be stopped when Riku grabbed his arm.
"But, wait," Riku said, sporting a small blush, "what if I want to dance with you." Riku blinked. Why did he just say that!? And to Sora of all people.
"With me, really?"
"Yeah, well if you want to." Riku said, finding it odd that he was worried about rejection.
"Umm, well okay, but... if you are asking me to dance, then...?" Sora stopped mid sentence, finding he wasn't really sure how to ask what he wanted to ask.
"What Sora?" Riku asked, stepping up to the younger teen.
"Riku, if you want to dance with me, then does that mean... you l-like me?" Sora's face flared up.
The look that overcame Riku's face was hard to read. Sora detected a little shock, but couldn't really tell what Riku's reaction to that question was.
"Okay, let's say that I do, would you care?" Riku asked, his hands slowly moving to Sora's waist. Sora put his hands on Riku's shoulders, looking up at the teen.
"Well, if you did like me, I-I wouldn't care." Sora said, blushing as he and Riku started to slowly move to the music.
"Good, cause I do like you, Sora." Riku said that and knew he was telling the truth. All he'd been doing since he'd met Sora was think of the teen.
"Heh.. I like you too!" Sora grinned. "So, how are we going to tell your date?"
"Well something tells me that Yuffie's taken care of that." Riku smiled.
"You're probably right. Say, Riku?"
"Hmm?"
"You're my boyfriend now, right?" Sora asked, hope clear in his voice.
"Yes, if you want me to be." Riku answered.
"I do!" Sora exclaimed.
"Okay then, Sora will you go out with me?" Riku asked, looking deep in Sora's eyes.
"Yip!"
Present time-
Wakka grinned as he walked to his room, his thoughts on the dance and that one dance he got to dance with Tidus. It had been heavenly to hold someone he likes so much. Humming the song that had been playing, Wakka walked over to his bed, sitting down.
"I know that we've been friends forever..." Wakka quietly sang, stopping when he heard some movement in the living room. The teen grinned. Tidus was here!
Getting out of bed, Wakka walked to his bedroom door, opening it just as Tidus had been about to enter.
"Hey," both said at the same time, laughing at the surprised looks on each others faces.
"Haha, I didn't expect you to be standing right there when I opened the door," Wakka grinned, looking at Tidus.
"Me either," Tidus said, walking into Wakka's room. He laid a overnight bag on the floor, then walked over to Wakka's bed, sitting down.
"You tired?" Wakka asked, knowing they'd already be in bed on a school night.
Shaking his head, Tidus looked around the room, "not yet," he said, looking over at Wakka.
"Oh..."
"Wakka, do you ever feel jealous of your brother? Because he has someone and you're single?" Tidus wondered where that question came from.
"I.. well I guess, sometimes. I wish I could have what he and Luzzu has. I can see how happy they both are and I wish I could be just as happy and share my life with someone I love dearly." Wakka looked away from Tidus, trying to hide a frown from him, but he hadn't been quick enough.
"W-Wakka, are you okay? Why are you frowning?" Tidus jumped up from Wakka's bed, going over to Wakka. He peered closely into Wakka's face, bringing their lips mere inches from each other.
Wakka gulped, seeing how close they were. "I-I'm fine, I really am."
"No you're not, Wakka, I can see pain in your eyes." Tidus frowned, tears coming to his eyes, "I don't like seeing you like this. What's wrong?"
"Oh.. Oh, Tidus don't make that face... please." Wakka patted Tidus on the shoulder, "don't worry about me."
"H-how can I not when I see how you're hurting and I don't even know why? Don't you trust me enough to tell me what made you so sad, what's causing you pain?"
"Of course I trust you..."
"Then tell me!"
Wakka would always blame it on how close they were standing and that adorable worried look on Tidus' face, and how much longing he felt. That was what made him do what he did.
He put his hand on the back of Tidus' head, pulling the teen closer, kissing him lightly on the lips.
"Do you understand now?" Wakka asked, pulling away.
