Chappu got an evil smirk on his face, “Wakka get up, mom and dad will be angry if they catch us!”
Wakka shot out of bed, looking around, looking as if he was still half asleep. “Chappu you perv,” he groaned, making a ‘ewww’ face. “That’s gross.”
Chappu bent over laughing, “well it woke you up, didn’t it?” Wakka groaned again, making Chappu’s grin widen.
Wakka fell back against his bed, pulling his cover over his head, “Go away. You’re very cruel to wake me up this early . . . and for no reason.”
Chappu tutted, “Wakka I’d never do that. I had a very good reason to wake my baby brother.”
Chappu tip toed to Wakka’s bed, grabbing the sheet off him, “now get up.”
Wakka curled up into a ball, putting his pillow over his head, “go away,” he mumbled.
Chappu started to pout, “oh come on Wakkie, please!”
Wakka was shocked at the pleading sound in Chappu’s voice, and that he used his childhood nickname. He slowly moved the pillow off his face and peered into Chappu’s blue eyes. The older boy seemed really excited about something. “Okay, I’m listening,” he set up, swinging his legs over the edge of his bed, “what’s up?”
Chappu blushed. Wakka looked at the boy confused. Why is he blushing?
“Um, I went to the back yard, to watch the people on the beach,” his blush grew, “and there was a really cute guy sunbathing.”
Wakka raised an eyebrow, “oh,” he said interested. “So why do you need me?”
Chappu blushed, “I don’t want to go down there alone. Who knows if he likes guys, but if we both approach him it won’t be like I’m checking him out. More like saying hey.” Chappu blushed again.
“Eh, can you repeat that. I didn’t understand a word,” Wakka teased. His brother had spoke so fast, but Wakka sort of understood. “Okay, but tell me one thing. He’s not a blond, is he?”
Chappu laughed, “no, you and your blonds. He’s a redhead.”
Wakka grinned, “oh.” Wakka stood up and rummaged in a box he had still to unpack. He found his and Chappu’s swim trunks. “Here,” he said throwing Chappu his.
Both boys turned away from each other as they changed.
“Ready,” Chappu asked?
“Yeeup,” Wakka ran pass Chappu smacking him on the backside.
Chappu grinned chasing his brother, tackling him in the kitchen. The two playfully wrestled, their bodies becoming intertwined.
“Um,” Mai cleared her voice to get her boys attention. Both boys stopped their play fighting and looked up at their mother. “Should I be worried about you too,” she teased.
“MOM,” both boys yelled, untangling themselfs from each other. “That’s so...eww,” Wakka stuck a finger in his mouth and gagged. “But yeah you should worry about us.”
Chappu’s eyes went wide. Why did he say that?
Wakka grinned, “Chappu has a crush,” he sang in a sing song voice.
Mai smiled, “oh!”
“Shut up, Wakka,” Chappu grumbled, his face red. Why do you have to tell mom that?
Mai shook her head, “boys be good. We understand and accept that you are gay, but not everyone will feel the same way.”
Wakka and Chappu sighed, “we know mom,” Wakka and Chappu replied together. They had had their fair share of fights with people in their old home town. Actually they didn’t do any of the fighting. Other people beat up on them. Spitting in their faces and stuff like that.
Mai smiled, “now go have fun,” she frowned, “but be careful, if you go in the water.”
Wakka and Chappu smiled at their mother, “we will.” Wakka hugged his mother, kissing her on the check.
“Is he still here,” Wakka asked, scanning the beach for a cute redheaded sunbather?
Wakka turned to his brother and followed his gaze. Man, he is cute. But he is more Chappu’s type then mine. Hmmm, how should we approach him?
The boy Wakka and Chappu were looking at was laying on a beach towel, his hands behind his head. He had a very tanned, muscled body. And his hair was almost as red as the Thomas brothers.
“He is cute,” Wakka whispered.
Chappu nodded, blushing. “Um how should we approach him?” Chappu rubbed his neck as he watched the mysterious redheaded boy.
Wakka made a ‘I’m thinking face.’ “I know, how about. Hello, I was just wondering if you prefer men over women?”
Chappu groaned, “right then get decked.”
“He doesn’t look like the hitting type, even if he is straight and another guy hits on him.”
Chappu nodded, agreeing, “so how do...” he trailed off when he saw a familiar girl approach the redheaded sunbather.
“Isn’t that,” Wakka started to say.
“Lulu,” Chappu said. He watched as the two chatted and talked as if they were good friends. I hope their not REALLY good friends.
“So lets go say hi,” Wakka grinned seeing Chappu’s face flush, “we know her, so it’s okay to walk up to her and say hi.”
Wakka walked up to Lulu and the redheaded boy, Chappu right behind him, “hey Lulu,” Wakka called.
Lulu looked up and smiled when she saw the redheaded brothers. “Hey guys.”
Chappu had turned shy all of a sudden. The boys eyes were on him, “hi,” he said, looking at Lulu.
“Luzzu, these are the guys I was telling you about,” Lulu hooked her arm in Wakka’s, “this guy gave me CPR.”
Luzzu smiled at Wakka and Chappu, “thanks for helping her,” he said his eyes fixed in Chappu’s direction.
Wakka smiled, “no prob,” Wakka looked at his brother and snickered to himself, the boy was practically drooling.
“I’m Wakka Thomas, and this is my older brother, Chappu,” he told Luzzu.
Luzzu grinned, his eye still fixed on Chappu, “I’m Luzzu Tarrine.” He held his hand out to Chappu. Chappu bit back his blush and shook the boys hand.
Lulu looked at Chappu then at Luzzu and smirked. Hmmm, I’m sensing some attraction. Luzzu I never knew you liked fellow redheads. Oh but it’s so obvious.
She turned her head and looked at Wakka, seeing the look on the boys face. It was a look of amusement. She shook her head silently laughing. So he’s enjoying his brothers embarrassment.
“Uh, Lu,” Luzzu looked at the dark haired girl, a look of confusion on his face, “is something wrong?”
Lulu snapped out of her thoughts and looked at Luzzu, “huh, what?”
“You were sort of staring at Wakka and I think you were laughing under your breath.”
Did I laugh out loud? “Oh, nothing wrong. I must of been thinking of something.” Her eyes widened when she realized all three redheads were staring at her.
Wakka patted her on the back, “it’s okay, sometimes I’ll laugh for no reason too.”
Lulu laughed, and the boys joined in. “Sorry I must of had a crazy moment.”
Luzzu shook his head, “what are you talking about, Lu. All of your moments are crazy.”
Lulu huffed, a look of mock anger on her pretty face, “how could you say that!”
Luzzu leaned over hugging the girl, “sorry Lu. I only say it because I love you.”
Lulu sighed, smiling, “okay I’ll let it slide this time.”
Chappu frowned watching their exchange, could they be a couple?
Wakka saw his brothers frown and knew what he was thinking so he took it upon himself to ask them. “So are you two like going out?”
Lulu and Luzzu sputtered, looking at each other, “ah, no way!” Lulu looked sick at the thought of dating Luzzu.
Luzzu shook his head. “No, that will never happen.”
Lulu and Wakka smirked when they saw Chappu brighten up when he heard this. “But you guys seem so chummy,” Chappu said, doing his best to make his voice sound normal.
“We’ve know each other since diapers, so it’d be like dating my brother,” Lulu told them and Luzzu nodded.
Besides I don’t like girls, Luzzu thought his eyes grazing over Chappu’s bare chest.
“Besides Lulu’s not available,” Luzzu told everyone. Lulu glared at Luzzu, blushing.
“Oh,” Chappu and Wakka said, interested.
Lulu didn’t know if she should tell them...but I’m pretty sure one or both of them are gay, so they shouldn’t care that I’m bi, and dating a girl.
“Go on Lulu, tell them.” Luzzu encouraged her, wondering what the boys reaction would be. If they had a good reaction then maybe I’d have a chance…Luzzu blushed. He felt really attracted to the older brother.
Lulu took a deep breath and smiled. “Well I’m dating a...um a girl.” She blushed something fierce. She peered at the two boys.
“Oh,” Wakka was surprised, but it didn’t matter to him is she was dating a guy or an girl.
Chappu smiled, “that’s cool.”
Lulu smiled, relief flooding her body. She had been worried she might loss them as friends. But she was pretty sure she was right, and the older brother had a mega crush on her friend. It’s too cute. And if I know Luzzu, he feels the same way.
“You don’t think it’s strange or wrong,” Lulu asked them?
Wakka and Chappu shook their heads no, “of course not,” Wakka exclaimed, “you love who you love.”
Chappu grinned, “yeah, what he said.”
Lulu smiled, “true. So are you two dating anyone?”
Wakka and Chappu blushed, “no,” they both said together.
Chappu smirked, “but Wakka likes blonds. So you guys know any blonds?”
“Chappu,” Wakka blushed. “Well he has a thing for redheads.”
Lulu ‘hmmed’, “interesting.” She smirked, “well the only redheads I know are Luzzu, but I know a few blonds. All of them are cute.”
Luzzu flushed deep red, why’d she have to go there. He chanced a look at Chappu and was pleased to see he was blushing as well. Hmm, maybe I have a chance.
“So what are these blonds like,” Wakka asked, looking at Lulu?
Lulu laughed, “Well my girlfriends blond, but she’s off limits.”
Wakka smiled, don’t worry, I’m not interested in your girlfriend, or any girl for that matter.
“Rikku’s okay, but very hyper. She’s fourteen. You interested, I don’t think she has a boyfriend,” Lulu smirked when he saw Wakka wrinkle his nose. So he’s into guys as well.
“Hmm, I can’t think of anymore blond girls, the others are all guys,” she said, “Tidus, Gippal, Zell, Seifer, Cloud and Zidane. Wow, I know a lot of blond guys.” She made a face like she was just realizing something, “and there all really cute too.” She looked at Wakka, “not that you’re interested.”
Chappu and Luzzu were both silently laughing, it was so obvious what Lulu was doing. So she’s realized Wakka likes men, Chappu thought.
Poor Wakka, she really put him on the spot, Luzzu thought grinning. He knew when she said, ‘not that you’re interested’ that Wakka really was interested. It was written on his face. Lu’s right, all of those guys are very cute.
“Lu stop teasing Wakka,” Luzzu laughed.
Lulu pouted, “wha, I wasn’t teasing him.”
Wakka seemed to come out of his shock and blinked his eyes a few times. “Huh,” he muttered?
He remembered what Lulu had said and his face flushed.
“Were friends, so don’t be scared to talk with us,” Lulu said reassuringly to the two brothers.
Wakka smiled. He felt like they were good friends, even though they had only recently meet, “okay since you were honest with us, I’ll be honest with you. I am gay. But I think you already guessed that.”
Lulu giggled, “yup I did.” She rubbed her hands together, “who should I set you up with?”
Wakka blushed, “nah, you don’t have to set me up with anyone.”
Lulu smiled, “well truth be told, I don’t know if any of my blond friends are into other guys.”
Wakka smirked, “that’s okay, but do you know any redheads you can set my brother up with?”
He eyed Luzzu when he said this.
Chappu froze, afraid that Lulu would guess he was gay as well.
Lulu smiled, “like I said, Luzzu’s the only redhead I know.”
Both boys blushed.
Lulu sighed, goodness, could they be more shy? “Sorry if I’m being bold, but Luzzu really thinks you’re cute, Chappu.” Chappu gasped, and Luzzu went red.
Wakka smirked, “sorry if this is bold, Chappu really thinks Luzzu is HOT!”
Lulu and Wakka grinned when the two boys looked at each other. Their faces were beet red.
“Hey, Wakka c’mere,” Lulu stood up and took Wakka’s arm, pulling him away from the two blushing redheads.
They walked a good distance away, and spied as the two talked.
Wakka beamed, “they’re smiling.”
Lulu grinned, “yeah. It’s so cute.”
“Erm, you really think I’m cute,” Chappu asked, shyly looking at Luzzu?
Luzzu felt his heart start to pound, “um, yeah.” He looked at Chappu, “you really think I’m hot?”
Chappu grinned, “Heck yes. Have you looked in a mirror?”
Luzzu felt dazed, wow, he really thinks I’m hot. “Um thanks, nobody’s ever said I was hot.”
“Well get used to it,” Chappu looked into Luzzu’s green eyes, “because I won’t let you forget it.”
Wakka and Lulu smiled at each other, high-fiving each other, “it looks like our non planed plan worked,” Wakka laughed.
Lulu laughed, “that doesn’t make since, but I know what you mean.”
Wakka looked at Lulu, “so those blonds you were talking about. Is there a chance I’ll meet any of them?”
Lulu nodded, “yeah, most of them are in tenth and eleventh grade. What grade are you in?”
“Tenth, Chappu’s in eleventh.”
“Oh, so am I and so is Luzzu.”
“Well when school starts I’ll introduce you to everyone. Not just the blonds.”
Wakka grinned, “I’d like that.”
Wakka and Lulu slowly made their way back to Chappu and Luzzu, “hey,” Wakka grinned.
Both boys turned and looked at Wakka and Lulu. “Oh hey,” Luzzu grinned, blushing.
Chappu smiled at his brother, his eyes saying ‘thank you.’ Wakka understood and nodded.
Lulu smirked, “Now who’s looking chummy,” she teased. Both boys blushed but didn’t back away from each other. “It’s really cute.”
“Hush, Lulu, you’re embarrassing me,” Luzzu mock scolded.
Lulu and Wakka started to laugh. “Don’t be embarrassed, Luzzu. You and Chappu look cute together.”
“Wakka...” Chappu nodded, “you know what he’s right.” He leaned forward surprising Luzzu with a gentle hug.
Luzzu sighed, breathing in Chappu’s clean scent. He blushed and hugged Chappu back. “Yeah he is,” Luzzu grinned.
“Awwwww,” Wakka and Lulu cooed
“Luzzu,” a clear female voice called out, making Luzzu jump away from Chappu, “ah it’s my mom.”
“I’m over here mom,” Luzzu called to the slender blond women.
Ms. Tarrine smiled, “hello, Lulu.” She eyed Wakka and Chappu, “new friends of you guys?”
Luzzu and Lulu nodded, “yeah they just moved in. Wakka and Chappu Thomas,” Lulu said pointing to each boy in turn.
“Oh, you’re our new neighbors.”
“Yeah we moved into the white house,” Wakka told the women.
Luzzu looked at Chappu in surprised. So we live next door to each other, cool!
“Well, I’m Luzzu’s mom, call me Sarah.” Chappu and Wakka nodded.
“Tell your friends bye, it’s time to eat.” Sarah smiled at everyone and walked back into her home.
Luzzu looked at his house to make sure his mom wasn’t watching, and hurried up and hugged Chappu. “Bye guys.”
Chappu blushed, “bye Luzzu.”
Wakka and Lulu told him goodbye and watched as he jogged toward his house.
