The first person to notice anything out of the ordinary was Rikku. The hyper blonde walked into the temple ahead of everyone, her brides bouncing. She had a cheerful smile on her cute face which soon changed from one of shock. Pure shock.
She pointed a shaking finger to what looked like...TIDUS and AURON.
She blinked her eyes, wondering if she was seeing things. Soon Rikku heard a round of gasps behind her and knew the others must have just walked into the room.
"I'm not the only one seeing them, right?" Rikku asked her voice shaky.
"OH MY GOSH!" Yuna exclaimed. Everyone turned to the brunette, watching as she struggled to hold Wakka; who had just fainted into her arms.
"Heavy! Help!" Yuna gasped, her knees buckling.
Gippal and Luzzu ran to Yuna and caught her and Wakka as the girl collapsed under the former guardian's weight.
Tidus looked at Wakka, worried. "It he okay?"
"Eee, you're really there aren't you?"
Tidus nodded to Rikku whose mouth was still hanging open in surprise.
"How?" Paine asked. She didn't know Tidus or Auron personally, but she knew of them from the stories other had told her.
"Paine, right?" Tidus asked. Paine nodded. "It was Shiva and the other Fayth who brought us back.
"That's amazing! Wonderful!" Rikku jumped up and down, clapping her hands. "So are you back for good? Are you really alive?"
"Ask Luzzu." Auron said.
Luzzu nodded, "yeah, they are. I saw Auron bleed, so I know they are not fiends."
"It's so good to see you again." Yuna said, with tears in her eyes.
"Yes, we've missed you guys." Lulu added.
Tidus smiled, "I missed you guys too." he looked around at all of his old friends. It was so good to see them again. He glanced over at Wakka who was being held in Gippal's arms. Did he really pass out because of me?
Walking over to Wakka, Tidus placed his hand on his cheek. "Do you think he'll wake up soon?"
"I'm sure he will; seeing you guys really shocked him." Lulu said, "And we all know how he cared about you Tidus; you guys were really close."
Tidus blushed. He knew how much Wakka cared for him, and just maybe someday he'd be able to return his feelings. Tidus did know he liked Wakka, but the love part he wasn't so sure.
“Well as soon as he wakes up, we have to celebrate!” Rikku exclaimed.
“Another drinking party?” Baralai questioned.
Auron raised an eyebrow, “Drinking party?”
“Oh, well...” Yuna looked at Tidus and Auron who had missed out on so much.
“How much do you know about what has been going on in Spira?” Gippal asked the two newly reborn.
“Shiva gave us the whole rundown,” Tidus said, “She showed us how Paine, Yuna and Rikku defeated a veggygon.”
Rikku giggled, “Vegnagun.” she said, sounding out the name for Tidus.
“Oh right. Well she showed us that. We saw you.” she pointed to Gippal, “and the guy...um... Nooj I think she called him helping fight the machina.”
“Okay, well, after we defeated Vegnagun we all ended up here and we had a party to celebrate.” Yuna explained to Auron, Tidus and Luzzu who had not been at the party.
“You should of bee...” Lulu’s eyes went wide, “ohh, I’m sorry; I didn’t mean to say that.”
“Don’t worry about it.” Tidus smiled, “we’re here now.”
“So, what were you going to say?” Auron asked.
Lulu sighed, when it seemed they hadn’t been offended by what she had said.
“Well,” she laughed, “Yuna and Rikku got drunk.”
“Hey!” The girls cried together.
“It was funny,” Gippal said.
Tidus looked at Yuna with wide eyes. The Yuna he knew got DRUNK!
“Seriously, Yuna got drunk?” Tidus exclaimed.
“Yes,” Paine said quirking a little smile.
“And we all had hangovers...well except Wakka.” Baralai said.
Tidus smiled, “Wakka didn’t drink?”
“No, he was smart.” Gippal said.
Tidus liked hearing that; he didn’t much like being around people who were drunks. He looked at Yuna and Rikku, knowing the two wasn’t drunks even though they’d got drunk the one time.
“Can we go somewhere else?” Gippal asked, “Wakka’s getting really heavy.”
“Of course.” Luzzu smiled, “Let’s go to the lodge and lay him down.”
------
"Tid..." Wakka mumbled in his sleep.
"I'm right here, Wakka." Tidus whispered, holding Wakka's hand.
"Tidus..."
"Shh, it’s okay, I'm not going anywhere." Tidus smiled, brushing Wakka's red hair out of his eyes.
Wakka's brown eyes popped open, going wide when they saw who was sitting near him. He smiled, reaching a hand out, touching Tidus' cheek.
Tidus blushed.
"Are you really there?" Wakka whispered, caressing Tidus' cheek.
"I-I'm here Wakka."
Wakka wasn't one to cry, but even so tears came to his eyes.
"I missed you."
"I missed you, too."
Sitting up, Wakka pulled Tidus into a hug. Tidus smiled softly, hugging him back. He had to admit that it felt really nice in Wakka's arms. He liked the feeling that it gave him.
I'm truly home; with him.
