Squall stood up, his lips still tingling from that one simple kiss he and Zell shared.
'Shiva, do you think things will work out?'
Shiva would have smiled if she could, of course, Squall, sweet heart. I feel like things will all work out for the best. Now you just got to get Zell alone and speak to him about your new found feelings.
Blushing, Squall nodded, 'I'll try to do that. I've never confessed my feelings to anyone. Not true feelings like the ones I'm feeling.'
It'll go well, don't worry.
One week later...
"Hey, Zell."
Zell jumped when someone came up to him, putting an arm around his shoulders.
"What do you want, Seifer, lemme go." Zell tried to pull away from Seifer who was smirking for some reason.
"Aw, come on. You're hurting my feelings, Zelly Poo. You like Squall and not me?"
Zell blushed, "what makes you say that?" He tried again to pull away from Seifer, "and why are you hanging on me when you like the little blondie you live with?"
Now it was Seifer's turn to blush and he hardly ever blushes.
"I have no idea what you're talking about."
"Finally we agree on something," Zell rolled his eyes. "Let go of me."
Seifer sighed, "Fine, whatever, be no fun."
Zell smiled when Seifer let go of him, not that he actually minded the arm around him. It felt kinda nice, but no way he'd ever admit that to anyone, let alone Seifer.
'If only Squall was the type just to wrap an arm around me.' Zell thought getting a far off dreamy look on his face.
Seifer raised an eyebrow, waving a hand in front of Zell's face. "Gaia to Zell."
Zell blinked back to reality, blushing. "'Scuse me," Zell mumbled, running toward his and Squall's dorm room. A very confused Seifer watched him go.
'Ah, now I get it,' Seifer shook his head, chuckling, 'he was thinking about lion boy.'
Squall, it's been a week and yet you've done nothing. Shiva sighed, causing Squall to sigh as well.
'It's not so easy just going up to someone and telling them you have feelings for them, especially when that somebody is your best friend and another guy, Shiva.' Squall explained.
Well I've been a guardian force for sooo long, I can't remember my mortal days too well, but I know you're right. It's never easy admitting when you have feelings for someone, but you have to. Don't you think you owe Zell the truth?
Squall sighed again, 'yeah, but I'm so afraid I'll scare him away.'
Walking into the dorm room, Zell frowned, seeing Squall sitting on the couch with his head in his hands. Squall was sighing and Zell wondered if he had a headache.
Zell walked over to Squall and put a hand on his shoulder, making Squall jump in surprise.
Squall looked up, seeing Zell standing over him. Zell raised an eyebrow when Squall flushed.
'Does he have a fever...is he sick?'
"Squall, are you okay?" Zell set down next to Squall.
"Oh," Squall looked over at Zell and nodded, "yeah..."
Kiss him! Kiss him, you know you want to. It would be so easy to just reach out and take him by his shoulders; pull him to your chest and kiss him long and passionate.
'Shiva, please do shut up.'
Well, I've never!
Zell blinked in confusion when Squall's cheeks went bright red and his eyes glazed over.
"Uh, Squall, what's wrong?" Zell moved his head closer to Squall's peering into his glassy eyes.
Squall blinked, flushing even more when he realized how close Zell was to his face.
"Nothing..."
Zell pouted, "Some things wrong, Squall. I know you better then you think. Please tell me what's bothering you."
Squall didn't answer, instead looking away from Zell. "Umm, all I can tell you is to read Selphie's new poll on her site. Maybe that will answer your question."
---
"Quistis, can I use your laptop?" Zell asked, walking into the blonde’s room.
Quistis looked up, nodding, "sure." She smiled, going back to talking on the phone.
Zell turned on the laptop and went to Selphie's site. "Hmm, these aren't new polls. Guess they're just new to Squall."
Squall read the polls again, seeing nothing different. "Ah, some new comments have been added."
I'm new to this school, but I've known that I was gay for a long time. Right now I find myself falling for my roommate. I wonder how he'll take it when he finds out. -New-Found-Crush
I don't think I'm gay; I like girls’ thank you very much, but I am man enough to say when another guy is good looking. -Straight-I-Am
I fell for my best friend. Good Hyne, I think I'm actually falling in love with him. He's also my roommate, so I'm worried he will find out soon. Will he hate me, I wonder? -Lion-In-Love
Those three comments were the only three things new about Selphie's polls.
Zell looked wide eyed at the screen. 'Lion-In-Love...he...that can't be Squall, right?'
"You know, don't you?"
Zell looked behind him at Quistis, blinking. "Huh?"
"Yeah, Squall borrowed my laptop a couple of days after the party. I saw that last comment and thought it sounded like Squall, so I had Selphie cheek where it came from. She can look up the ISP or whatever that technical term is to see what computer left that comment. And you know what? It was my computer."
"R-really?" Zell could hardly believe it was true.
"Yeah." Quistis smiled.
---
"Squall." Zell walked over to Squall. 'Boy if we're somehow wrong, he's going to kill me.'
"Hmm?" Squall looked over at Zell, his eyes going wide when he felt his lips on his. "Zell?" Squall gasped, pushing Zell slightly away. He gave Zell a questioning look.
"I love you, Squall." Zell smiled, shyly.
Squall smiled softly, placing a hand on Zell's cheek. "I love you, too." He whispered back, leaning forward to kiss Zell again.
See, I told you everything would work out.
'Shut up, Shiva.' Squall tuned Shiva out, pulling Zell closer to him.
'On second thought, thank you so much, Shiva.'
Anytime Squall, anytime Squall.
The End! Yep, I decided to end it here. Maybe when I get a new laptop and I can update more often I'll continue this in a sequel. But that all depends on if you, the reader wants to read more. Please review and let me know!
