Seifer quicky filled out the rest of the app, then stood up and slowly approached the secretary’s desk. The women looked up and tried to smile, but it came out as more of a sneer. This woman certainly didn’t like Seifer. Seifer could tell, but didn’t really care. He couldn’t blame her really, after what he did, or was made to do.
“Thank you, Mr. Almasy. Headmaster Leonhart will give you a call, IF he decides your application looks satisfactory.”
Seifer nodded, and walked away. He made his way to the elevator and pushed the button for the ground floor. Seifer leaned against the wall, and closed his eyes, waiting for the elevator to reach the bottom floor.
Hushed whispers followed Seifer as he made his way out of Garden, but for once Seifer ignored them. He wasn’t the same, ‘quick to jump to a fight’, guy, anymore. There was something about being possessed that changed a man.
“Hey, isn’t that Seifer?” A tall third year asked, pointing at the trench coat wearing blonde.
“I heard he was gay.” Another boy whispered to the girl, loud enough for Seifer to hear of course.
Seifer rolled his eyes. He had nothing to hide. So he played for the other team.
“Really?” The tall girl gasped, putting her hands to her mouth.
“Yeah. I heard he had the hots for our headmaster,” the boy told the tall girl.
Seifer snorted. As if, I’d never sink that low. Although I have to admit, puberty-boy does have a nice little body, what with those leather pants.
“Eww, that’s gross.” The girl made a face that made her look sick.
“I know.” The boy looked just as sick as the girl.
Seifer sighed, and turned to the two talking, “you do know I can hear everything you’re saying?” A small smile played over his lips when both students turned white and started to sputter.
Seifer rolled his eyes, turning and leaving the two sputtering cadets.
“Hey,” the boy looked confused, “why didn’t he . . . you know, explode and kill us?”
The girl shrugged, “dunno.”
“Here,” Squall looked up, coming out of his thoughts, taking the papers Jasmine was handing him. “It’s HIS application. I swear, what are you thinking? Letting him in. How can you? After what he’s done.”
“I didn’t hire you to judge whom I let in Garden.”
The girl snorted, throwing her long dark hair behind her shoulders.
“Besides it is a well-known fact that Seifer was possessed.”
“And you believe that?”
Squall stood up, “I do. Now please leave. I’ve got to go over his application, then give him a call. Even though I already know he qualifies, I must go over the proper procedures.”
Jasmine huffed, and turned on her hills and waltzed out of Squall’s office.
Squall rubbed his temple, “I swear, why did I hire her?” I’m only seventeen and I’m in charge of a whole Garden. What was Cid thinking?
But you’re doing a good job, and your friends have been a big help.
Thanks, I know. They’ve really stepped up. Teaching classes and such.
Yeah, Squall shouldn’t you . . .
Oh right, Squall looked down at the app, and started to read over what was written. “Mastered the gunblade . . . as if . . . ” I guess I have to admit, he is quite good with it.
But not as good as you are.
A small smile played on Squall’s lips. “Got that right.”
“18, blood type O, birthday December 22, blah, blah, blah,” Squall yawned, laying the application down. “All seems to be in order, I guess.” Squall took out an official stamp and stamped the top of the application. APPROVED.
“This is the dingiest hotel ever,” Seifer grumbled, laying back on the bumpy bed. “I hope Squall doesn’t procrastinate with my application. I need a decent bed.”
+Ring! Ring+
Seifer smiled, that was fast. Getting up, Seifer walked to the hotel’s phone and pulled the phone to his ear. “Ello.”
“Hello,” A sharp voice called, “This is Jasmine, Squall’s secretary from Garden. I’m sorry to say, we’ve decided to disapprove your application.”
Seifer went cold. “What, but . . . ” Seifer stopped talking when he heard an angry male voice in the background. Hmm, what’s going on?
“Jasmine, it’s not your place to call him, and to lie to him no less.” Seifer smiled. Ohh, Squall sounds mad. Jasmine better watch out . . . hey did he say lie?
Seifer heard a sigh on the other end, “Seifer?”
“Yeah.”
“Um . . . er sorry about her. I filled out the proper paperwork and as of now you are back in Garden. You can pick up your schedule and dorm assignment from my NEW secretary.”
Seifer grinned when he heard Jasmine’s angry voice on the other end yell, ‘you’re firing me, because of HIM?’
“Thank baby,” Seifer smirked, “I’ll be right over.”
Seifer hung up and went to pack.
He called me baby again.
I think that this time, he was just teasing you.
Whatever . . .
“Yes,” Squall glared at Jasmine, “you don’t call potential SeeDs and tell them I disapproved them, when I didn’t. Therefor you are fired.”
Jasmine burst into tears and ran out of Squall’s office.
Tsk, tsk, Squall you really need to be carful when hiring people.
Whatever . . .
Now you’re doing that on purpose!
Maybe, I know it bugs you.
Man, I feel so loved . . .
Squall laughed, leaving and locking his office. If he had to have someone in his head, he was glad it was Shiva.
Oh yeah, Squall paused right when he got to the elevator. Taking out his cell phone, he dialed a number he had programed in it. A meek women answered. “Hello,” the girl called.
“Yes this is Squall Leonhart. Are you still interested in the secretary job?”
Zell looked up and frowned, when a tired looking Squall walked into their dorm room. “Long day, huh?” Squall looked over at Zell and felt a weird feeling pass through his body. He didn’t recognize it, so he just pushed it aside.
“Something like that,” Squall moaned, collapsing on the couch next to Zell.
“Wanna talk about it,” Zell whispered? Zell waited for the ‘whatever,’, he was sure to get, but blinked in surprise when Squall looked over at him and smiled.
“Sure. I let Seifer back in, and I fired Jasmine.”
Zell’s eyes went wide, “you . . . huh? Seifer.”
“Yes, he asked to be let back in, so . . . well . . . ” Squall sighed, “I have no grounds to turn him away . . . and . . . ”
“He was being controlled, blah, blah, blah, yeah I know.” Zell frowned, “but why did you fire Jasmine?”
“I fired her because of Seifer. She snuck into my office, and got his hotel number and called him, telling him I disapproved his application.”
Ahh, Zell’s so hot! I wish I could be there next to him. If I had a body, I’d be sighing. I bet he has nice taunt muscles too. You know, if you leaned over and kissed him, I could almost imagine it was me.
Squall froze, his face turning red. Shiva must you always moon over Zell. So Zell has a nice body . . . Gah, Shiva your putting weird thoughts in my head.
“Er Squall, are you okay?” Zell touched Squall’s shoulder, trying to get his attention. He looked like he was in a daze.
Squall jumped, Zell’s hand on his shoulder causing a bolt of electricity to run down his body. “I’m fine.” Squall jumped up, off the couch, his eyes looking anywhere but at Zell’s face. “Tired, I guess. Night,” Squall turned tail and ran to their room.
Zell blinked, “was it something I said?” Zell closed his eyes and replayed their conversation in his head, but he couldn’t find one thing they said, that would make him act the way he did. “Must be stress,” Zell muttered.
Seifer knew it was late, but he hoped Squall’s new Secretary was in. He really needed a nice bed to sleep on. His back was all out of wack, from sleeping on nappy bed after another.
The elevator reached the floor Squall’s office was on. Seifer walked out of it and sighed in relief. There was somebody in the room.
“Excuse me.” A short redheaded girl looked up, blushing. She was unpacking things and placing them on the newly cleaned out desk.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” the girl whispered. “I...I’m new. Just got hired today.”
Seifer smiled at the shy girl, “congratulation.”
“T...thank you sir. I..I’m sorry. The headmaster is not in. I..I’m just here to unpack my things,” the girl set down a picture frame, showing her and three others who looked very much like her.
“Oh,” Seifer nodded, “maybe you can help me, though.”
“I ...I’ll . . . try.”
Seifer took a deep breath, wondering if this girl would treat him the same way as Jasmine when she learned who he was. Only one way to find out I guess. “My name is Seifer Almasy, and I was told to pick up my schedule, and dorm assignment. I was let back into Garden.”
The girl smiled, looking relieved, “oh yes I was told of this. Hehe, I was afraid you were going to ask me something I didn’t know.”
So far so good . . .
“I know who you are, and I don’t hold you to anything that happened.” The girl blushed, “I just wanted you to know that.”
“Thanks, I appreciate that,” Seifer smiled.
“Oh . . . um, my name is Shion Uziki, by the way,” Shion walked behind the desk and pulled open a drawer, pulling out a folder. “Everything you need is in there.”
Seifer took the folder and opened it, smiling when a card key fell out. Seifer bent over and picked up the key. “Thank you Shion. See ya later.”
Shion nodded, “bye Seifer.”
Seifer looked at the number on his key card. Well this is my room. I guess it’s time to meet my roommate. Hyne, I hope it’s someone I can get along with.
Taking a deep breath, Seifer slid the card key into the lock and watched the red-light turn green, signalling the door was unlocked. Seifer took another deep breath, then pushed open the door, walking in.
A blonde haired teen, who looked younger then Seifer looked up, startled. Seifer put his hands up, signalling he meant no harm, “whoa, it’s fine. I’m your new roomie.”
The blonde nodded, but didn’t totally relax. Seifer sighed and handed the boy his papers that said who he was, and that he was indeed training to be a SeeD.
The boy, who Seifer was finding very attractive, took the papers and started to go through them. Seifer swallowed, watching as the boys blue eyes went wide, when he read something.
Great! He’s going to be one of those who blames me for what happened. How will I room with someone who hates me?
Seifer walked over to the couch and set down, sighing. The boy looked up and noticed that Seifer looked distressed and guessed why. “I don’t, um well I mean, I know you were possessed to do Ultimecia’s biding. I don’t . . . um blame you.” The boy smiled, making Seifer blush. His smile was something.
Since when am I a blusher?
Seifer smiled back, “oh . . . I’m surprised,” Seifer looked away from the blonde teen, “most . . . well a lot don’t believe me . . . when I tell them I was possessed.”
The boy shrugged, “their loss. You seem like a nice guy.”
Seifer bit his tongue to keep from blushing again, “Haha, well I was never nice, before being possessed, but I guess I have somewhat changed.”
“Being possessed made you think, huh?”
Seifer nodded, “it did. I’m a new person. But I guess that’s for people that knew me before to judge.”
The teen nodded, “I’m sure they’ll be able to see the difference.” He stood up and walked over to Seifer, extending his hand . . . “By the way, I’m . . . ”
