Whoops, Selphie giggled. She noticed how Zell had tensed up, as he watched Squall and Quistis dance. I wasn’t supposed to make Zelly jealous.
The current song ended and Selphie stepped away from Zell, a smirk breaking out on her face. Squall’s watching him again. Selphie nudged Seifer and gave him a meaningful look. Seifer slightly nodded, understanding.
"Thanks for the dance, Zelly," Seifer whispered, leaning forward, kissing him on the check.
Of course Squall saw the whole thing. Quistis frowned when the younger teen gasped. It was so quiet, only she heard. "Squall," she whispered. She started to pat his back, thinking he was choking, "are you okay?"
Squall’s eyes were burning from unshed tears. Now he was even more confused. Why in the name of Shiva would I feel like this? It feels like someone just stole my heart, then stomped on it.
Squall heard Shiva sigh in his head. You haven’t figured it out yet? Squall sometimes you’re really clueless.
Now it was Squall’s turn to sigh. What was Shiva going on about?
"Hey," Quistis looked into Squall’s dazed face, "are you okay," she repeated?
"Huh," Squall blinked his eyes, coming out of his troubled thoughts. "I’m fine."
On the other side of the room, Zell was blushing and glaring at the same time, "why’d ya do a thing like that," he muttered to Seifer?
"Can’t a guy thank someone for a dance? Shesh, it was only a peck on the cheek."
Selphie rolled her eyes, and walked over to Cloud and Irvine, "okay break it up you two. Don’t forget," she whispered to Cloud, "he’s taken."
Cloud blushed, "hey, don’t worry about me. I have my eyes on someone else."
Selphie and Irvine smirked, "ahh, I see." Selphie looked at Irvine, "I wonder whoever it could be?"
"No Idea," Irvine said, smiling.
"Oh, stop teasing me," Cloud said, his blush growing.
"Oh my," Selphie gasped, "please do forgive me."
"Whooo," Selphie groaned, plopping on the couch. "I’m beat, lets do some less strenuous activities."
"Like what, love," Irvine asked, sitting down next to her?
"Present time."
Cloud looked up surprised. "Present time?"
"Yeah silly," Selphie laughed, "you don’t think we’d come to a birthday party empty handed, do you?"
"I...uh . . . " Cloud flushed, "thanks."
"Don’t thank us yet," Seifer said. "You don’t know what we got you. You might hate it."
"I’m sure I will like it."
"I hope so. We all pitched in to get it." Quistis said.
"Yeah, Seifer told us you might like it." Zell added.
"Come on, now you’ve got me excited." Cloud closed his eyes and held out his hand.
Seifer looked at Irvine, nodding. Irvine left the dorm room, and came back a few minutes later carrying a nice looking buster sword. Cloud fought with a very old sword, that was practically falling apart. It was Seifer’s idea to get him a new one.
Irvine walked over to Seifer and gave him the sword.
"Here you go," Seifer placed the sword in Cloud’s hand.
Cloud gasped, when he opened his eyes. "You serious? This is for me?"
Everyone nodded.
"Wow, thank you!"
"Well this is a party, so we should play a party game," Selphie said. Her hands were behind her back, hiding something. With a smirk she showed everyone what she was holding.
"Alcohol." Quistis raised an eyebrow. "You want us to get drunk?"
"No, of course not. But we need a penalty for the game we’re going to play."
"And that is," Zell asked?
"Truth or Dare," Selphie said, with a laugh. "Don’t be party poopers, please!"
"Well I’m in," Seifer said with a smirk, all the while eyeing Cloud.
Cloud noticed this and blushed, "I’ll play to."
Quistis sighed, "I suppose I’ll play too."
"Squall, Zell, Irvy," Selphie looked at the three boys?
Squall nodded.
"Anything for you babe," Irvine drawled.
"I guess I’m in, but what does the alcohol have to do with the game?" Zell eyed to bottle worryingly.
"It’s simple really. When you’re given the dare and you refuse to do it, you have to take a shot. Or when you refuse to answer when you pick truth, you have to take a shot."
I should stop this. I am the headmaster after all.
Oh, let them have fun. Just make sure you do every dare so you won’t have to drink.
Right.
"Now instead of daring each other, when you pick dare, you’ll draw from this hat. The paper will tell you what to do and you must, or drink. If you pick truth, you get to pick who asks you the question. Got it," Selphie asked?
Everyone said yes.
Selphie handed everyone pieces of paper and a pen. "Write down some dares, then put them in the hat."
Everyone did so.
"Now the birthday boy gets to go first," Selphie smiled. "Truth or Dare, Cloud?"
"Hand me the hat. I pick dare." Cloud grinned and grabbed the hat from Selphie. Taking a deep breath he reached inside pulling out a slip of paper.
I dare you to...
