Garnet peered at Zidane her brown eyes showing her worry, “Zidane, are you coming,” she pointed to the big airship Cid and the others were in? Eiko leaned over the edge and smiled down at Zidane.
“Come on slow poke,” she called.
Zidane stood still, his shock still written on his face. I can’t leave him. “You...g..go on ahead.”
“Zidane,” Garnet gave him a perplexed look. “What?” Garnet looked at Zidane’s pale face and frowned, “you’re acting like you’ve seen a ghost.”
Close enough. We all thought he was dead. “He..he,” he tried to chuckle, “nah, no ghost here.” Zidane grabbed his tail to keep it from thumping the ground in worry. But why am I worried? He tried to kill us all.
“What’s wrong,” Garnet’s frown grew, “why are you stopping?”
Zidane sighed, knowing nobody would like to hear this. “I’ve have to go back.” He looked up, waiting to see the shocked faces of his friends.
And shocked faces he got. Everyone looked at him in shock, even Amarant, who didn’t really care one way or another. Deep down he probably did care for the others, but would die rather then show it.
“W...why,” Garnet demanded to know. “Why would you go back.?”
Eiko shook her head, “yeah, that doesn’t sound like a good idea.”
Zidane sighed again, “Kuja,” he whispered.
Sir rust a lot, er I mean Rusty, um Steiner shook his head, “he don’t need no burial, it’d be foolish to go get his body.” The others nodded.
Zidane glared at the tin man, “you may be right. But I have to go.” He looked away to where Kuja lay in wait. “He’s still alive.”
Garnet choked, “alive,” her eyes were wide in fear, “you’re going to finish him off,” she gave the blonde an confused look.
“Save him.”
That statement made everyone freeze up. “W...what?” Garnet cried, tears running down her cheeks. “Why?”
“That’s what I do,” Zidane smiled. “Save people,” he looked down, “besides it goes against my nature to leave anyone when I can help them.”
“But he tried to destroy...” Garnet started to say.
“Yes, I know,” Zidane put his hand over his heart, “but in my heart I don’t believe he had control in everything he did. He was badly used and manipulated.”
“B..but what if he hasn’t changed?” Garnet screamed. “It’s a great risk.”
“I think when we defeated Kuja, Garlands hold over him finally wavered. And Garland is dead so we don’t have to worry about him taking over Kuja again.” Zidane said, standing up straight, tightly gripping his tail.
“And I’ll risk it!” Zidane had made up his mind. Nobody could stop him now.
Garnet nodded, seeing the look of determination on his face. “Fine, but if you die, I...I’ll...”
“I won’t,” Zidane interrupted.
Garnet smiled, “good. And if Kuja has truly changed, I’ll accept him. I’ll let you be the judge on that. I trust you’ll tell me the truth.”
Zidane nodded, giving the Queen a salute, “of course your highness.”
Garnet glared at Zidane, “my friends don’t have to be so formal,” she shook her head, her glare softening.
Steiner sighed, “if this is what you choose, then I’ll go with you. I can’t let a comrade go alone.”
Eiko started to jump up and down waving her flute, “me too, me too, I want to come.”
“You helped me, so I’ll help you,” Amarant spoke, his face blank.
Zidane shook his head, “no I can’t let you guys come. You have more important things to do.”
“But, but,” Eiko frowned. “We want to help.”
Zidane smiled, “I know, thanks. But I need to do this alone. I’d hate to put you guys at more risk.”
Garnet sniffled, “guys, he’s right, and he’s made up his mind. You better be careful Zidane.”
Eiko rubbed her tearing eyes, “I love you Zidane, you better come back!”
“I will,” he assured them.
Zidane gulped, was he really going to do this? Yep it looked like he was. Because there he was walking toward where he had last seen Kuja.
He turned toward the ship and waved, “bye, Garnet!” He called loudly. “Rusty watch out for her. Eiko be good! Vivi have some fun. Amarant be good as well.” Amarant rolled his eyes. “Freya good luck with rebuilding your home. Quina eat a lot of new food. Cid no cheating, Hilda no turning Cid into small creatures.” Zidane smirked, “Steiner tell her how you truly feel!”
Steiner blushed, and grumbled something under his breath, that sounded like ‘rotten thief.’
Everyone else waved back as the ship took off.
When he could no longer see Cid’s airship, Zidane continued on his way to save Kuja.
He back tracked till he came to a drop off, taking a deep breath, Zidane looked down, and paled. There lay Kuja. He wasn’t moving. How am I supposed to get to him? Ahh man...I have to jump.
Zidane closed his eyes and prayed to whoever was listening, and lept. He landed painfully next to Kuja.
“Kuja,” he called out. Kuja weakly opened his eyes and blinked in surprise.
“Wha,” he weakly whispered.
Zidane ran to Kuja’s side and placed his hand on the older man’s forehead, “geez you look like a wreck,” he teased, his face creased in worry.
Kuja rolled his eyes and painfully smirked, “who’s fault is that?”
“Kuja...we’re sorry, we had...”
“Stop, I know.” Kuja raised his eyebrow. “Why did you come back?”
Zidane shrugged, “you know me. The blonde haired hero.” Kuja laughed, then shook violently, when the pain from laughing got to him.
“Hey, stop laughing,” Zidane put his hands on Kuja’s chest, gently massaging him. Kuja tensed at first, but quickly relaxed when his pain started to fade.
“S..so did you all make it?”
Zidane nodded, his fingers now massaging Kuja’s shoulders, “yes. You had something to do with it, didn’t you?”
Kuja smiled, a true smile which made Zidane smile in return, “yes...it was I who transported you. I thought it was the least I could do, with the last of my power.”
“Thank you,” Zidane gently ran his hand over Kuja’s forehead, moving his long silver hair away from his eyes.
“I...I’m glad they survived,” Kuja’s eyes started to close.
Zidane gulped, “no, Kuja you have to stay awake!” Just then Zidane could hear a loud rumbling. He looked around and his eyes went wide. “Oh...Ahhk,” he screamed throwing himself on top of the unconscious Kuja.
The Iifa Tree was closing in on them. Any second now and the two Genomes would be crushed.
Zidane startled awake, when he felt a strange sensation down in his lower regions. He blinked confused, then remembered what had happened. The sensation came back and he moaned. What in the world.
Zidane looked down and blushed. He was face to face to Kuja who was asleep underneath him. The former mage must of been having some kind of dream, because he keep on moving, which was causing his leg to rub against Zidane’s member.
Kuja moaned, causing Zidane to blush a deeper red. Great, he’s having one of those dreams. Zidane tried to move, which only caused Kuja to moan again. Great, I can’t move, and when I do, I only rub up against him more.
“Hey,” Zidane spoke out loud, “how are we alive anyway?” He looked around and saw that the trees just stopped before hitting them, leaving them in a small pocket of space.
Kuja ‘hmmed,’ opening his eyes. He stared into the blue eyes of his former enemy. It was really dark, and for that Kuja was thankful, otherwise Zidane would see the blush that spread across the bridge of his nose.
Zidane smiled, “you’re awake!”
Kuja blinked confused by Zidane’s cheerful tone. He’s actually happy that I’m awake. “So it seems,” Kuja said, shifting a little. His breath caught in his throat when his member rubbed against Zidane’s.
“We’re kinda in a tight spot,” Zidane said, his voice sounding slightly breathless.
Kuja nodded, “I can see that.” He was in a lot of pain and it didn’t help that a hundred and twenty pounds of boy was pressed up against him. But he didn’t mind a whole lot, he deserved to be in pain.
“Kuja,” Zidane whispered, “are you okay?”
“Don’t worry about me,” Kuja frowned, “I’m not worth your time.”
“Don’t say that, Kuja,” Zidane exclaimed. “You are to.”
Kuja tensed when he felt the younger boy lay his head in the crook of his neck, the boys arms embracing Kuja as best as he could in the tight spot.
“Zidane,” he whispered. “A..are you crying?” He asked, his eyes wide. Why does this boy care about me? After what I did.
Zidane blinked, was he crying? Yup it looked like he was. “I...uh yeah,” he flushed in embarrassment.
Kuja was shocked, “w..why?”
Zidane raised up and looked at Kuja, his tears streaming down his cheeks. “I don’t want you to think that saving your life, isn’t worth my time. I makes me sad that you think that.” He looked away, still confused to why he started to cry.
“H...hey don’t cry,” Kuja frowned. For some reason seeing the younger boy in this state made him feel weird. Like he wanted to take the boy in his arms and rub his hair, whispering, ‘everything will be okay.’
Kuja did just that, surprising both boys. “Shh It’s okay,” he said, running his fingers through the younger boy’s hair.
Zidane had stopped crying right when Kuja had put his arms around him. He felt better. “I’m okay,” he smiled, laying his head back in the crook of Kuja’s neck.
“Good now we have to find a way out of here.” Kuja looked pass Zidane and saw some light behind the boy. “Do you think you can shimmy down my body, I see light behind you?”
Zidane blushed, “um, I’ll try.” He slowly scooted down Kuja’s body, biting his tongue so he wouldn’t moan when he rubbed against Kuja. He heard Kuja gasp and stopped, looking up at the older man.
“Kuja,” he blushed, his hand was on Kuja’s thigh. He moved his hand, “are you okay?”
Kuja was breathing hard, “I...I’m fine,” he said, “I..I uh. I had a sharp pain, but I’m better now,” he lied. Truth was that Zidane’s knee had pressed against Kuja’s cock, causing a flash of arousal to spread through the former mage’s body.
Zidane looked at Kuja in confusion, “are you sure you’re okay? You’re breathing so hard.”
Kuja flushed, “I..I’m fine. I have a lot of injuries.”
Frowning, Zidane started to move again, “Don’t worry, when we get out of here, I’ll heal you right up.”
“Thanks,” Kuja said, feeling himself brighten for some reason. Why do I feel so happy? He’s just going to leave me after he heals my wounds.
“Phew, made it,” Kuja looked at Zidane and chuckled. The boy was down on all fours at the end of his feet. His breath caught in his throat when Zidane turned around, sticking him bum up. Did I just feel attraction to Zidane’s bum? They must of hit me harder then I thought.
“Is there a way out?”
Zidane looked behind him and nodded, “yes it looks like a straight path to the top. I just have to make this hole larger.”
The next half hour was spent widening the hole so both Genomes could fit through.
