“Malfoy,” he exclaimed. Harry seemed to forget this was his rival, dropping to his side, “what happened? How did you get here?”
Draco’s grey eyes were wide. Harry and his friends were the last people he had expected to see. Good question, Potter. Why am I here? He looked down at his hands and saw the blood on them. He almost at once knew it was his own blood. How? Why? What happened to me?
Everyone else caught up, and there were loud gasps from most of them when they saw that the boy was Draco. Ron may have disliked the Slytherin, but he frowned, almost at once feeling worried.
“What happened,” Ron asked?
Harry shrugged, looking back at Ron. “I don’t know. I asked, but he hasn’t answered yet.”
Ginny walked over to Draco and Harry and set down next to the blond. “Hey Draco, I know you hate most or all of us,” she frowned, not liking the feeling that someone hated her, “but, well here you are. Um, on our lawn. So we need to know what happened.”
Draco frowned, opening his mouth to speak, but couldn’t find any words. Do I hate you guys? I’ve never said that. At least I don’t think I’ve said that. Harry, I should hate, after all it’s because of him that my father was sent to Azkaban. Yet, I know it wasn’t really his fault. And father after all, was breaking the law.
Fred looked at Draco, trying to speak, no words coming out. “Someone cast a silence spell on him, I think.” Taking out his wand, Fred walked over to Draco. “I’m only going to counter cast the silence spell, so don’t worry.”
Draco nodded, closing his mouth. Ha, me worry! Yeah right.
Fred, waved his wand, muttering something under his breath. “Can ya talk now?”
Draco grunted, opening his mouth, “I . . . I..I c..c...can...t...talk,” Draco stuttered, forcing the words out. He looked down at his bloody hands again, memories coming back to him. He started to shake. No, I can’t show annnnny weeeaknessss, Draco’s thoughts slowed, as his eyes rolled up in his head, and he passed out.
“What do you think happened to him,” Ron looked at Harry? Harry shrugged, blushing.
“No idea.”
“Well he was attacked, but by what I wonder,” Ron looked behind him, to his bed, where Draco was laying, asleep.
“Or by whom.” Harry whispered.
“Who? You think it was a person.”
Harry nodded, “could have been. Someone cast silence on him, didn’t they.”
“Hey, yeah, I never thought of that,” Ron cringed, “those wounds were pretty nasty.”
“Mm hmm,” Harry agreed, “it’s lucky your mum, was able to heal most of them.”
“Yeah,” Ron grinned, “I wonder how he’ll take it when he learns a Weasley saved him.”
Harry quietly laughed, “dunno.”
Luna walked into the room, eyeing Draco, “how is he,” she whispered?
Harry and Ron looked at Luna, “well he seems to be breathing normal and everything.” Harry told her.
“I expect he’ll wake up soon.” Ron added.
“Hmm,” Luna went and set on the edge of the bed, “I wonder what happened. He seemed surprised that he was on your lawn.”
“Yeah, I noticed,” Ron shrugged his shoulders, “I guess we won’t know, till he wakes up.”
“That’s if he’ll tell us,” Hermione said, walking into the room. Ginny and Neville followed her.
“What! But he has to,” Ginny exclaimed, “we need to know if there’s a wild creature attacking people nearby.”
Hermione sighed, “yeah but this is Malfoy. And I don’t think it was a creature.”
“Yeah me and Ron think it was a human, well a wizard or witch,” Harry said, “you know because of the silence spell someone cast on him.”
“Oh,” Ginny looked shocked, “I didn’t take that into consideration.”
Unbeknown to everyone, Draco had been awake since the beginning of the conversation.
“None of us did, at first,” Ron looked back at Draco, who quickly closed his eyes.
“I wonder who.” Neville shuddered, “those wounds were ewww.”
“Well whoever did it, did it then dropped him right next to where we were playing truth or dare and spin the bottle,” Ginny walked over to where Luna was sitting and set on the other side.
Draco almost laughed. They were playing Spin the bottle and truth or dare! He carefully opened one eye, looking around him. I’ve got two girls sitting on either side of me. They almost look like they care about me. Ha! Like that would happen.
Hermione went and set on the end of the bed, carful of Draco’s feet, “you do think he’ll be okay,” she asked everyone, her voice clearly sounding worried.
Huh, Granger’s worried about me! Why would she care? I was never nice to her.
“He’ll be fine,” Harry said, “at least I hope so.”
Hope, hope . . . he hopes I’ll be okay! Why! Why does he care?
Neville sighed, “I hope so too.”
What him too! All of my rivals are sounding like they care about me! ‘Well they are the good people,’ Draco’s inner voice told him.
“Draco! You discus me!” An angry female voice yelled. Draco shuddered as the memory hit him.
“What, why?” Draco cowered in the corner as his mother came at him.
“You refused to bare the mark of the dark lord,” she screeched.
“Mother!” Draco screamed, as his mother sharp nails bit into his skin.
“I’m no longer your mother,” she pushed Draco away. “Go rot with your father.”
Draco pulled himself up, and walking out of the large manor. He had just been disowned. Swallowing his tears, he wondered. Not caring if it was against the law, he summoned the knight’s bus.
“Where to,” the pimply faced Ernie asked him?
Hmm, where too? Draco wondered. “Um, Hogsmead.”
“Righty ho,” Draco numbly climbed onto the bus, handing some knuts to the man.
Coming out of the memory, Draco’s eyes shot open, only to be confronted with six pairs of worried eyes.
There they are again. Feeling worried about me.
“What?” He muttered.
“You were shaking and muttering things,” Luna explained. “It was like you were having a fit.”
Draco set up, “oh.” He was surprised to see that the pain in his body was completely gone.
Ron noticed his surprise, “oh, mum healed you.”
“Thanks,” Draco said, surprising everyone.
“Oh . . . sure,” Ron looked at Harry and Harry shrugged, making a ‘I don’t know what’s going on, either’ face.
‘Did he just say thanks,’ Ginny mouthed to Hermione?
‘Yes, he did,’ Hermione mouthed back.
‘Maybe he hit his head,’ Ginny mouthed.
‘Could be,’ Hermione shrugged.
Draco had seen Ginny’s part of the mouthed conversation, and could almost be sure what the other person had said. Yeah, so I’ve changed. Sue me. Ever since I turned down their offer, I’ve been acting different. More nice. I just don’t feel like being the person I was anymore. I don’t expect anyone to understand that though.
Draco’s eyes started to flutter as another memory hit him. It hit him hard, making him gasp and fall back against his pillow
“Hey, ant thet ther the Malfoy boy?” A man with bad grammar asked. He was a tall scary looking brute.
Another man, smaller then the first nodded, licking his lips, “ay, I tink you are right.”
Draco froze when he heard these two men start to talk about him.
“What yu tint he doin her?” The first man asked.
“I dun no,” the second man, said grinning, “but we sure to have fun.”
“We can’t he a Malfoy.” The first said, sounding scared.
“Oh sure, what will Mr. Malfoy do? Come swooping out of Azkeyban and kill us,” the second man laughed.
“Oh, I ant tink of that.”
Draco went to run, but was stopped with a spell. “No I don’t tink you get away.” the first man said, licking his lips.
Draco went to scream, but once again was stopped with a spell.
“Ant goin to do that either,” the second man said, laughing.
‘My father will get you!’ Draco mouthed. Then he slumped, feeling stupid. Oh sure, my father who is in Azkaban. And besides, I’ve been disowned.
“Har har, did ye her that.?”
The next thing Draco knew, he was in a dark room, with two stinky fowl men. He tried to struggle and scream, but the spells cast on him prevented him from doing anything.
The last thing he remembered before blacking out, was one of the men’s hot stinky breath on his face. When he awoke he was looking at the last eight people he ever expected to see.
Draco opened his eyes, realization coming to his eyes. He had been raped. He was sure of it. He looked at the people around him, and couldn’t stop the tears that came to his eyes.
“Draco,” Ginny whispered, “what is it?”
Draco wiped at his tears feeling ashamed to show his weakness in front of others. “I sort of remembered what happened to me,” he numbly told everyone.
“Oh,” Ginny frowned, “what happened?”
“I...I,” he shook his head, “I can’t.”
“Why?” Ginny risked her arm being ripped off and patted Draco on his hand.
Draco looked to her patting hand, and raised his eyebrow. Everyone really did seem worried about him. “Well, it’s something bad . . . oh fine! The whole would may know by now anyway.”
“I was disowned,” Everyone gasped, “then I went to Hogsmead, and was attacked by,” he looked down, his stomach churning in disgust, “by two brutes, I’m sure they . . . um raped me. I blacked out. But they were talking about having fun. Uh with me.”
“What,” Ginny and everyone else was shocked, “oh! I’m sorry.”
Draco nodded, “thanks.”
Once again, everyone was shocked. Draco said thanks again and meant it.
“Um,” Ron frowned, “if ya don’t mind, why were you disowned? Oh never mind, sorry. None of my business.”
Draco chuckled, “I don’t mind telling. Well ya see. By now you all know my family are all death eaters. And you see, I refused to be one,” He looked down.
“What! Really?” Harry was truly surprised.
“Yeah. My mum freaked out, and kicked me out.”
“So you’re homeless?” Ron felt bad for his (hopefully) former enemy.
“Yeh, it seems so.” Draco never thought of the fact that he was now homeless. And it really shocked him. “I am. Homeless.” He looked down at his now clean hands and shivered, feeling fear. What was he going to do now?
Ginny frowned, “um, Draco. You need some rest. We’ll leave you for a bit.” She stood up and motioned everyone to leave the room. “Call if you need anything.”
Draco nodded and hugged his pillow to his chest.
They just finished telling, Molly, Fred and George what had happened. “Oh, that poor child,” Molly shuddered. “How can somebody do that? Raped, that’s a terrible thing to do to someone.”
“Mum, what’s he going to do, now that he doesn’t have a home?” Ginny asked.
“This might sound a bit weird, coming from me, but he should stay here,” Ron told everyone.
“You’re right that does sound weird, coming from you,” Ginny said, “but it might be a good thing for him. To be around . . . well you know.”
“People who don’t really want him dead,” Ron grinned, “nah, we don’t want him dead.”
“Yeah, but because he turned down the dark lord, he might not be safe anywhere else, cause we can’t really be sure who’s death eaters.” Ginny looked at her mum, seeing if she agreed.
“And were sure none of us are death eaters,” Hermione added, “at least I’m certainly not a death eater.”
“Right, Hermione the muggle born a death eater,” Ron joked.
“Well you all make fine points, but what about Draco,” Molly asked? “Will he want to stay here? None of you guys are actually on friendly terms.”
“Does that mean he can stay, if he want to?” Ginny looked at her mum.
“Well I guess, but only if he wants to. I won’t force him.”
“Who should ask him,” Ginny asked, biting her lip?
“Um,” Molly looked at everyone, “who here is on the best terms with him?”
Everyone looked at Luna. “What, me,” Luna said?
“Well you’re a Ravenclaw, the rest of us are Gryffindors,” Ron told the blonde. Gryffindors and Slytherins never got along that well.
“Yeah, that may be, but I don’t even live here.”
“Oh,” Ginny rolled her eyes, “yeah, that would be weird if you asked him to move in. Well, I guess I’ll do it.”
“Are you sure sweety,” Molly asked?
“I guess,” Ginny stood up, making her way upstairs.
