Chapter 1

A/N So here’s my new Kingdom Hearts fanfic taking place after KH2(AUish, but the events in KH1 and KH2 did happen, some things may change though). Yes one of the oc’s names is from Fruits Basket, but no this is not a crossover. I’m just borrowing the name. Please review.

Warning! Since this take place after KH2, there will be spoilers(for both games most likely and maybe KH:COM)! So please do not read if you’ve not beaten KH2.

It was like Heaven; only not. White, fluffy dreamlike clouds fluttered across the sky. Wild flowers bloomed all over the bright green landscape. Birds and other small creatures scattered about, talking in their native tongue. None of it was real, just allusion created for the nobodies when their time on Earth had ended. It looked like what you’d think Heaven to be, but maybe it was really hell. It was so big that you’d be lucky to come across another nobody. To spend all your time here after your time on Earth was ended really would be hellsome.

This was just where the nobody, ex member of Organization 13, Axel found himself spending his time; his after life so to speak.

Axel was bored; being a spirit thing sucked. There was nobody to play with, or to tease, and worse of all no Roxas; at least no Roxas that Axel could find, and he had looked.

"Roxas," Axel sighed, his eyes raised upward. He missed his old friend; yes missed. A feeling only a person with a heart had. But Axel had that feeling. Being around and knowing Roxas had made him feel like he truly had a heart. He and Sora were the only people to ever make him feel like that. Probably because Sora was Roxas’ other half. But it wasn’t Sora he loved. It was Roxas.

Yes, Axel had fallen for the small blonde, quite fast too. The redhead always knew he preferred the same sex, but this was the first time he really started to care and love another guy.

Thinking about Roxas, teared Axel up. Normally he wouldn’t cry, but nobody was around so what the heck. Sniffing, Axel felt the tears stream down his face.

"Poor pitiful child," an elderly sounding voice spoke, making Axel jump in surprise, quickly rubbing at his red-rimmed eyes. Axel spun around looking for the source of the voice. He couldn’t find it anywhere.

"You miss your heart, do you? No, wait you’ve already found your heart. How is that?" The voice sounded confused and oddly jealous.

"Where are you? Come out!" Axel didn’t like feeling like he was being watched.

"Ah, I see. It was that young boy. That blonde-haired kid."

Axel tensed, knowing the voice was speaking of Roxas.

"Somehow you regained your heart because of him. An unexplainable miracle." The voice snorted, "how disgusting. You love him."

"Leave him alone, you big bully," the voice of a young girl spoke. There was the sound of a struggle, then a relived sigh. "Hehe, got rid of him, I did!"

"Who are you," Axel asked? This voice sounded somewhat familiar. Like the voice of a long lost friend.

A sparkling, blue shimmer appeared in front of Axel. Axel stared at it, transfixed till it formed into a shape of a young girl.

The girl had choppy red hair that fell just to her shoulders. She was wearing a long angelic white gown, with silver trimmings. Axel almost expected her to have wings. She looked so much like an angel.

The girl looked at Axel, a pout clear on her face, "aw, poo, you don’t recognize me. I thought my hair would give away who I was."

Axel shook his head, "sorry, it doesn’t."

"I’m your sister, you silly guy. Well, Luke’s sister, but you’re the other half of him, so that sort of makes me your sister. My name is Leia."

"Huh?"

Leia sighed, "my brother was turned into a heartless, therefor you were formed. A nobody."

Axel nodded. He understood now. "Okay, I see. So why are you here?"

Leia giggled, "I’m here to grant you anything. And I’ll do it too. He won’t stop me." Leia looked up, and shook her hand. "Hear that, you can’t stop me."

"He?"

"Your other half; my brother. Being turned into a heartless has left him very . . . well heartless."

"Oh," Axel looked at Leia, wondering if he was really hearing and seeing all of this, or had he finally cracked. "You can grant me anything?" Axel asked in a hopeful voice.

"Yep. The only things I can’t do is, hurt someone, kill someone or make people fall in love."

"Why me? Why do you want to help me?"

"Because you’re special. You’re not supposed to have a heart, but you found it again. I can feel your pain and I can’t stand it. I want to help," the girl said, smiling. "Tell me what I can do."

Axel smiled. He knew exactly what he wanted. But how on Earth could Leia grant it? "How can you . . . "

"I was born a witch, lived a noble life, helping and guiding others, then I was killed protecting someone. Now I pass between the living and the dead, helping all those that I’m able to."

Axel was surprised. "How old . . . "

Leia smirked, "fooled ya, didn’t I? I chose to appear in my teenage body, but I’m really much older."

"I see. So you’re like an angel then?"

Leia nodded, "more or less," she smiled, hopping on the hills of her feet; which were bare, "What is your wish?"

Meanwhile . . . As the angel Leia talked to Axel . . .

Sora ducked as the sword came at his head; it only missed him by one inch. Grunting Sora sidestepped as the sword came at his head again; this time Sora shoved his own sword up, hearing a metal clank as the two swords meet in midair.

"Nice block."

"Thanks," Sora said, panting. Sora jumped back, right as the person who had commented on his blocking, tried to attack him again. This time Sora didn’t react in time, and the sword banged him on the shoulder. With a startled grunt, Sora fell back, dazed.

"Hey," a concerned face appeared over Sora’s, "are you okay?"

"Riku . . . I . . . I’m dying . . . " Sora choked.

Riku looked panicked, "I didn’t hit you that hard. Did I accidently stab you?" Riku bent down and started to inspect Sora’s shirt, pulling it away from Sora’s skin to see if there was a wound. Riku frowned, puzzled. Sora’s shoulder was red, of course, but that was it; No cut and no blood.

"Ahh hahaha," Sora started to laugh, "Ri-ku I was only kidding." Sora set up, rubbing his sore shoulder, "it did hurt though."

With an angry look on his face, Riku gently shoved Sora back on the ground, "don’t do that!" Riku stood up, brushing his long silver hair out of his eyes, "Sora, you scared me to death."

"Oh," Sora blinked his ocean blue eyes, startled by Riku’s anger, "I’m sorry Riku. It was just a joke." Sora stood up, brushing the sand off his legs, "you mad at me," Sora asked?

Riku shrugged his shoulders, not looking at Sora, a big pout on his face.

Running up to Riku, Sora grabbed him by the arm, holding him tight. "Riku, please don’t be mad."

A smile flickered over Riku’s lips, "you big lug head, you know I can’t stay mad at you for long."

Pleased, Sora smiled, "good."

"Just don’t ever do that again, you hear me?"

"Yessir!" Sora saluted Riku, making the boy role his eyes.

The two started to head back for town, in comfortable silence. Suddenly Sora felt like something was digging in his chest, trying to take his heart. "Oh," Sora gasped, grabbing his chest.

"SORA," Riku yelled, his face a cross between hurt and anger, "I said don’t do that. Enough playing. It’s not funny."

Sweat started to pour down Sora’s face, as another jolt of pain made him gasp. He looked at Riku with wide eyes, opening his mouth to talk. "Ahk," was all that came out, as Sora doubled up, tears coming to his eyes.

Riku frowned. Sora was talking this a little too far . . . wait, could Sora really make himself sweat like that? And didn’t those grunts of pain sound all too real. "Sora," Riku questioned, putting a hand on Sora’s shoulder. Riku flinched. He could feel heat coming from Sora’s body; right through his shirt.

Falling to his knees, Sora gulped for air, feeling like someone was pressing a foot against his windpipe. He hurt all over, like he’d been run over by a speeding truck.

Riku paled, watching Sora fall to the ground. He definitely wasn’t faking. "Sora!" Riku bent down next to Sora, gathering the smaller teen into his arms. "What’s wrong?"

"I...I don’t know," Sora managed to get out. Sora buried his face in Riku’s chest, crying freely.

"Don’t worry, I’ll get you home."

Riku took off at an inhuman speed, running till he came to Sora’s door. He kicked the door, hoping someone was home to let him in.

A minute went by before the door was opened by a brown haired women. The women’s eyes went wide, when she spotted Riku and Sora.

Mrs. Saki Hanajima; Sora’s mother along with all the other island inhabitants didn’t recall the year or so Sora, Riku and Kairi had vanished. To them the teens had never left. The only ones that knew were their friends.

"Sora," Saki yelled, running to Riku and Sora’s side. "Riku what happened to him?"

Riku looked down at Sora, who by now had passed out from the pain, "I don’t know. We were dueling and everything was normal. Then all of a sudden Sora was overcome with pain and he’s feverish."

"Let’s get him to his room," Saki held the door open for Riku, then quickly followed Riku as he walked Sora to his room.

Riku laid Sora down, brushing his hair out of his eyes. Sora was still very hot.

"I’ll get the thermometer," Saki ran out of the room, coming back a minute later holding the thermometer. She handed it to Riku, her eyes never leaving her sons face.

Riku gently pried Sora’s mouth open, sticking the thermometer under his tongue. Sora, will you be okay?

Leia frowned, looking at Axel. "Oops, dang, broke my own rules."

Axel looked at the redhead, confused. "I’m sorry, what?"

Still frowning, Leia looked at Axel, "you wished that you and Roxas along with his friends and any other nobodies who wished it would be freed to live their lives as normal human beings. Meaning, having hearts, being separate from their other halves."

Axel nodded, "I guess that about sums it up."

"Well, when Sora freed all those hearts a lot of them went back to live in the hearts of . . . well to make a long story short; Roxas is once again living in Sora’s heart. Since I granted the wish he is now trying to get free; in the process making Sora sick and in a great deal of pain. I didn’t foresee this."

Axel swore, "I want Roxas to be himself again, more then anything, but I didn’t want to hurt Sora."

Leia smiled, "Sora and others like him, will live; they just have a hard time ahead of them."

"So Roxas . . . "

Leia smiled, "Roxas will, in time be whole; not apart of another. Alive, breathing; with a heart."

"And his friends . . . what were their names . . . "

"Twilight town will no longer be an illusion; but a real town filled with real people. Pence, Hayner and Olette and everyone else will go on as always but now they will be very much alive."

"And me?"

"You found your heart along time ago, but with my help you are free to go into the land of the living again. Do you wish to go now? Or would you rather wait, till Roxas has freed himself."

Axel pondered over this, rubbing his chin. Without Roxas he had nothing. "I suppose I should go now. Sora and his friends deserve to be told what’s happening."

Clapping, Leia pounced on Axel, hugging him tight, "you have a pure heart. And know this, Roxas is not your only friend; Sora was greatly distressed when you left the world."

"Sora’s a good person."

"Yes he is." Leia pulled away from Axel, "now, are you ready?"

"Yes!"

Leia walked counter clockwise around Axel, muttering ‘sseddog, raeh ym aelp! Tel Axel ecno niaga ni eht latrom mlaer!’

Axel closed his eyes, feeling his skin start to prickle, as if a thousand small ants were crawling over his body.

When he opened his eyes, he stared confused. He was looking at a tree. On that tree bloomed yellowish heart-shaped fruit.

"Where in the world did she send me?"

A/N Please let me know what you think. Oh and the language Leia spoke is just regular English, only backwards. She said ‘Goddess, hear my plea! Let Axel once again in the mortal realm!’
