The Plan, Part 1

Here you go, Naru, I went and typed this up just for you. I hope you like!

---

Cloud bit his lip, nervous. He had decided to take Kairi’s advice and visit Squall. He was currently standing on the stoic teen’s front porch, with his hand out, ready to knock; but was hesitating.

There’s nothing strange about me being here. Nothing! I am one of Squall’s friends. Nothing wrong with visiting a friend.

Cloud sighed, knowing he was right. There shouldn’t be anything wrong with visiting his friend, so then why was he so . . . SCARED?

"Are you going to stand there all day, or are you going to knock?" came a cold voice. Cloud jumped, yelping, turning to face...SQUALL. "Well?"

Squall sounded cold, but Cloud could hear a hint of amusement in his voice.

"You thought it was funny, scaring me?" Cloud exclaimed!

"Maybe."

Cloud huffed. "Well that’s the last time, I, out of the goodness of my heart come to visit my dear friend."

Squall blinked, "you were visiting me . . . "

"You think I came to see your dad . . . or Sora?"

"Well . . . I don’t . . . I thought maybe you came by to see if Ellone was home or something."

Snorting, Cloud rolled his eyes, "why would I do that? I for a fact know she’s still on the tour with the band. Are you insinuating . . . I like her? Cause if you are, you’re WAY wrong."

"I am?"

"Yes, I don’t like her like that . . . I don’t like any girl like that."

"But . . . "

"But?"

Squall looked down, "I don’t know; you have a look about you . . . that says otherwise . . . that you do like someone like that."

Cloud smirked. Maybe I do.

"Oh so you have me all figured out, huh?"

"No, you just look . . . uh . . . glowey."

Cloud snorted, which turned into hysterical giggles. Did Squall just say glowey?

"What?"

"Squall," Cloud, said, gasping for breath, "you said glowey."

Silence met Cloud's ears.

"Well you did!"

Once again, Squall stayed silent, a blank look on his face.

"Aw, are you embarrassed now?"

Shaking his head, with a slight smile, Squall gently smacked the back of Cloud’s head. "Come inside . . . but only if you stop teasing me."

Cloud grinned, "kay."

Looking amused, Squall shook his head again.

The next day at after school, Sora ran up to Riku grabbing his shirt, "Riku, wasn’t I better?"

"Better?" Riku raised an eyebrow.

"At dancing, you lug head." Sora grinned, showing his blinding smile. "I forced Squall and Cloud to practice with me, last night."

Riku’s eyebrow went up even further. "You did what?"

Giggling, Sora leaned over to tell Riku what had happened.

/Flash/

"Squall?" Sora pouted, walking into his room. His eyes went wide when he saw Squall and Cloud sitting on Squall’s bed. "Oh hey Cloud."

"Hi, Sora," Cloud blushed, knowing it might look like something to Sora. Him and Squall sitting on the bed together. Truthfully it was nothing. Cloud hadn’t the guts to tell Squall anything yet.

"Why the long face?" Squall asked, looking at his brother.

"Uh, well the thing is . . . the theme for gym is dancing, and I have a partner who’s really good at dancing . . . and I want to be better to surprise her."

"You said, ‘her’?" Riku asked, laughing.

"Well I didn’t want Squall to know it was you, after what happened in the bathroom; he might have turned into protective Squall again, ‘No guy will touch my Sora’"

Riku laughed, "okay, go on."

"And?" Cloud asked.

"I thought maybe Squall could practice with me," Sora mumbled.

Squall looked at Sora, surprised, "you want me to help you?"

"Yeah . . . Cloud can help me too," Sora said, smiling bright. "With the two of ya, I’m sure I’ll get better in no time . . . and," Sora grinned, "you two can dance together to show me what to do and stuff."

"Now I see, you only did this to get those two to dance together." Riku said, not seeming to think it wrong. Maybe Kairi’s and the others plan would work after all.

"Shush, let me finish, stop interrupting."

Both Squall and Cloud blushed at that.

"Please," Sora pouted.

"Oh no, nobody can resist Sora’s cute little pout."

"Ri-ku," Sora shouted, blushing, "I said stop interrupting."

"Oops, sorry. Go on."

Neither Squall nor Cloud could resist the look Sora was giving them so the both agreed.

It was no problem for Squall and Sora to dance with each other, because they were brothers and had no incestuous feelings for each other, but when Squall and Cloud got up to dance for Sora . . . well lets just say, it look like someone spilled a can of tomato juice on their faces.

"So that was it; Squall dance with you for a bit, then they danced together?"

Sora nodded, "yeah. So was I better?"

"Yeah, you were," Riku said, nodding, "I was surprised. I thought that somebody switched bodies with Sora, or that you were possessed by a decent dancer."

Beaming, Sora looked up at Riku, "thanks."

"Ouch!"

"Oops."

"Hey."

"Sorry."

"Just hold still!"

Tidus did as he was told, blushing when Wakka kissed him on the lips.

"See wasn’t that better?" Wakka asked.

They had both leaned in for a kiss, bonking heads, they tried again, only resulting in bonking heads again.

"Heh, yeah better . . . Ugh."

Wakka looked at Tidus concerned, "hey, what’s wrong?"

"All this bonking has given me a headache."

"I can fix that," Wakka said, leaning in, kissing a hot trail of kisses up Tidus’ neck.

"Oh," Tidus moaned, not expecting this. He smiled, leaning into the kisses. Wakka pulled Tidus to him, making him comfortable in his lap. Tidus blushed, pulling away from Wakka.

"What?"

"N...nothing," Tidus stuttered. Heh, I’m in Wakka’s lap. I’m at my house, in Wakka’s lap. I’m at my house, in Wakka’s lap, with my drunk of a dad in the next room . . . DAD! Tidus’ eye went wide. He had completely forgot about his dad, in all the Wakka kisses.

"What’s wrong?" Wakka asked, worried.

Tidus frowned, climbing off his lap, "we can’t . . . not here. My dad."

"Oh . . . OH! Man, I forgot about your old man." Wakka smirked, "wanna take this somewhere else?"

Wakka didn’t even need to ask. Tidus eagerly nodded, grabbing Wakka’s hand, helping him up. "Yes."

---

Tidus laughed, looking at the little setup Wakka arranged, "aw, all this just for little ol me," he smiled up at Wakka who was grinning sheepishly. "Who knew, Wakka’s a romantic."

They had set of for play island, and Wakka had made Tidus keep his eyes shut until he was ready, and when he opened his eyes he was surprised to see a picnic ready for them to enjoy.

"Yeah, I am romantic," Wakka said.

"You had this planned . . . no way this stuff was just in the shed."

Wakka smirked, "oops, you found me out."

"I sure did." Tidus giggled like a schoolgirl, running and plopping on the red blanket. Wakka shook his head, laughing at the hyper blonde, going to join him.

"This is also part of ‘THE PLAN,’" Wakka whispered in Tidus’ ear, making the teen shiver.

"Ooh, the plan, huh?" Tidus snuggled up against Wakka. "So Riku’s supposed to show up?"

"Yeah, Kairi and Selphie are supposed to get him here."

Tidus felt a bit uneasy about all of this. How would Riku take the news? Would Riku still want to be his and Wakka’s friend?

Noticing his unease, Wakka frowned, nuzzling Tidus’ neck, "I’m sure this will go good."

"I hope so," Tidus shivered once again, as Wakka continued to nuzzle his neck. "How will we know that Riku is on the island?"

"Oh, Selphie will make the signal."

"Hmm?"

"She’ll hoot like an owl; very clever, huh?"

Tidus giggled, just imagining Selphie, with her hands to her mouth, hooting like an owl. It certainly wouldn’t seem strange to Riku that she all of sudden did it; as she’s very crazy anyway and is liable to do something like that, just to make someone laugh.

"Yes, very much a Selphie thing to do." Tidus laid against Wakka’s chest, waiting for the signal. He sent a silent plea that everything would turn out okay; for him, Wakka, Tidus and Sora.

Riku rolled his eye at the three girls, who were standing in front of him, giving him pleading looks.

"Please, Riku!" Kairi exclaimed.

"Yeah, please. We want to go to the island, but . . . we need a big brave man to go with us . . . just in case more fiends are about," Yuffie added, inwardly snorting. Her needing a big man! Ha! She was a ninja expert. She could pretty much take care of herself, among most fiends. All she needed was her fist and feet.

"Please!" Selphie said, pouting. "If you don’t go, I’ll make you sing a song."

"Woooo, I’m so scared," Riku laughed. It wasn’t like singing a song was that big a deal. As if to prove how not scared he was he started to sing.

They came for him one winter's night. (Over the Hill and Far Away, by Nightwish)
Arrested, he was bound.
They said there'd been a robbery,
his pistol had been found
.

"Ha, see, I don’t mind singing," Riku said, laughing at Selphie, when she started to grumble, something about him being no fun. "But I’ll come anyway."

All three girls beamed.

"Hey Kairi," Selphie said, "I bet I can make the best bird sound."

Kairi laughed. So this was how she was going to go about making the signal. "Oh yeah, I bet I can."

"Nu huh, I can."

Riku raised an eyebrow at the two, as he pulled in his boat, so it wouldn’t float away. Yuffie just snorted, as she pulled in her boat.

"How bout I be the judge," Yuffie suggested.

"Right." Kairi said, taking a deep breath. "Twit, twit," Kairi yelled, almost peeing her pants. It was so pathetic, that call. It sounded like someone stepped on a dog’s chew toy.

In stitches, Riku looked at Kairi, "haha, what was that?"

"That was crap," Selphie said, "this is how you do it." Selphie put her hands to her mouth so she’d sound louder, "HOOT HOOT!"

"Well that was definitely louder," Riku said, holding his ringing ears.

"The winner and still the champ Selphie," Yuffie yelled, running up to Selphie, raising her arm up in the air.

"Hey, since when was she ever the champ?" Selphie pouted.

"Holy cheeseburgers," Tidus said jumping. He heard the signal, now his stomach was nervously rumbling.

Wakka laughed, "cheeseburgers?"

"Give me a break, I have a craving."

"I see, then the next picnic there will be cheeseburgers, or if you’d like we can go on a date and get some." Wakka blushed.

"I’d like that," Tidus said, leaning into Wakka.

"Hey," Yuffie whispered, pointing. "Isn’t that Wakka and Tidus? Shh, let’s spy on them."
Wakka noticed a movement to the side of them, and caught a sight of silver. "Don’t look now, but he has arrived," he whispered in Tidus’ ear.

The rumbling in Tidus’ stomach only got worse, now that he knew Riku and the girls were watching him and Wakka.

"Well this," Tidus grabbed Wakka’s head, "will get the point across." He smashed his lips on Wakka’s, all thoughts of those watching fleeing his mind. Kissing Wakka had that affect on him; making him forget everything around him.

Wakka smirked into Tidus’ mouth. Yes, that would get the point across. Wakka pulled Tidus closer to him, running his hands through his hair.

A rustle got their attention and both boy broke apart, acting surprised when they turned to see Riku, standing with Kairi and Selphie the most surprised look on his face.

"Uh . . . hehe," Tidus nervously laughed, "uh . . . hi."

Riku blinked a couple of times, his eyes wide, "what . . . are . . . ?"

"Uh . . . Riku . . . um, Wakka and I are a couple, we didn’t tell you or Sora, cause we didn’t know how you’d take the news. Sorry . . . uh . . . do you hate us?" Tidus looked at the ground, frowning.

"Hate you?" Riku couldn’t believe Tidus even had to ask. "Of course I don’t hate you. I’m just a bit hurt . . . you should of trusted me enough to tell me."

"We’re sorry . . . it happened so fast . . . " Wakka explained. "We were going to tell you . . . but were unsure about the way to do it."

Riku chuckled, "well this is one good way."

Tidus smiled, "yeah it was."

"It doesn’t bother you?" Wakka asked.

"No." Riku said, shrugging, "why should it?"

"Good, so if we kiss or something, you won’t mind?" Tidus asked, blushing.

"I won’t . . . I’ll just tell you to get a room, like I would say to any straight couple . . . nah, I’m just joking; make out all you want."

Wakka smirked, "you might regret saying that, one day."

"Maybe."

Sora clicked on his radio, starting to sing along with the song that started to play. It was ironic how much the song fit him and his love for Riku.

Wish you were here
Me oh my country man
wish you were here

Sora was in his room all alone. He was feeling very lonely at the moment, just wishing he could be open and tell Riku. After the other day, in the bathroom, he knew he liked Riku more then any thing.

Sora closed his eyes, and continued to sing.

I wish you were here
Don't you know the snow is getting colder?
And I miss you like hell
And I'm feeling blue

"I wish you were here," Sora whispered, tears in his eyes.

wish you were here
Me oh my country man
wish you were here

wish you were here
Don't you know the snow is getting colder?
And I miss you like hell
And I'm feeling blue

I've got feelings for you
Do you still feel the same?

"Still . . . no, do you even feel the same way." Sora shook his head. Like that would happen.

From the first time I laid my eyes on you
Felt the joy of living
I saw heaven in your eyes
In your eyes

wish you were here
Me oh my country man
wish you were here

Sora stopped singing, clicking off the radio.

Walking over to his computer he set down, signing onto his online journal.

So updates . . . well I got attacked by a great big fiend. A mysterious . . . (well mysterious to me, since I can’t remember who it was) man saved me. He ran my bloodied body to the woods and put me in a tree. I then saw him chase after the fiend.

I don’t know why my brain is so foggy. I wish it wasn’t, so I could thank this guy. He must think I’m rude or something for not going to his house and thanking him. (I have to know him; we do live on a small cluster of islands were everyone pretty much knows everyone)

Well after I was attacked the boy I loved saved me . . . well climbed the tree and gave me a piggy back ride to the ground. I blushed so hard, I know I did.

After that, he took me home and . . . get this . . . cleaned me up . . . took my shirt and pants off and cleaned my wounds. Boy my brother threw his top, when he walked in seeing us like that.

Sora made the post friends only, so only a few select people could view what he had written. Riku didn’t know about this journal; good thing to, seeing as most of it was about him.

"Riku," Sora whispered. Would things ever work out for them?

A/N Please review. Next chapter is the rest of the plan. Sorry it’s not in this chapter, but . . . I wanted to do it in the next.

The song is ‘Wish you were here’ by Nightwish.
