Yuffie stopped, and did a graceful spin, much like the ice skaters do, to see her father standing on the porch. He had a slight crossed look on his handsome face, and his arms were crossed.
“What,” Yuffie whined? “Dad I’m don’t want to be late!”
Auron sighed, “you’re not wearing that, are you?”
Yuffie looked down at her outfit. What was wrong with it. Sure it was very tight fitting, and didn’t leave much to the imagination. But Yuffie didn’t care anymore. She didn’t want a repeat of last night. She had wore too much clothes. She wasn’t used to the island’s hot sun.
“What’s wrong with it?”
“Yuffie, you’re showing off your whole stomach. That green top is more like a bathing suit top. And those short yellow shorts show off way to much leg.”
“But dad, I’m wearing leggings!” It was true, she was wearing white leggings, that came up a few inches above her knees.
Auron snorted, “sure. And when you bend over, I expect it’ll be a full moon.”
“Please dad! I assure you most of the guys on this island wouldn’t be interested!”
“You can’t know that, Yuffie. You may be young, but you are,” Auron grunted, feeling uncomfortable. “Well you know...”
Yuffie rolled her eyes. “Yes dad. I have a nice curvy body and BOOBS. Don’t be embarrassed to say it.”
Auron grunted again. Sometimes Yuffie could be so outspoken. Just like her. Yuffie’s mother. Edna Cramer Kisaragi. They were only married for a year, when Yuffie came along. Sadly the birth had been to much for the sweet brown haired women. She died right after. Auron had been holding her hand. Her last words were, ‘Name her Yuffie.’
“Yes that, and guys will be interested.”
Yuffie rolled their eyes. “Not if the other guys are like the ones I’ve meet,” Yuffie muttered under her breath. She after all didn’t want to out her new friend/s.
“Young lady! You will stop rolling your eyes. It’s rude.”
Yuffie fought the urge to roll her eyes again. “Yessir. Dad I’ve got to go!”
Auron sighed, defeated. “Fine...but remember your training. And if that doesn’t work go for the balls,” Auron darkly muttered, going back inside.
“Whoo hoo, won!” Grrr, did he just insinuate someone would mess with me? If anyone tries, they’ll find a one way ticket to the hospital.
Yuffie stuck her tongue at the closed door, rolling her eyes for good measure.
Smiling Yuffie clicked on her disk man, and took off down the walk way that led to the dock.
When the first song started to play she giggled, she loved this song! Not caring who was listening she belted out the song, singing along with Lulu and Ellone’s voices.
I wake from a nightmare now
In the day it haunts me
It slowly tears me apart
Yuffie’s voice got really loud, and she was drawing the attention of a old couple. They looked at the young ninja, with a strange look on their faces. Where they crossed? Oh yeah, they were. The man muttered to the lady, making a naughty gesture. The women nodded, and the two walked away.
Yuffie didn’t even notice.
With dreams of a distant love
I'm a wandering satellite
Somewhere in the wasteland
Yuffie smile, liking that last verse for some reason. It was sort of like her. In a way she was wondering, somewhere, not quite in a wastelandlooking and dreaming for love...or friendship.
I see you smiling at me
A vision out of my dreams
Will everything change?
Take the pain away
Lead me with your light
Heading for the sun
Leave the sadness behind
Crossing oceans dry
Yeah My world spinning out of time
Won't somebody stop me?
I may be losing my way
Will you make it right?
Take the pain away
Hear me as I cry
Heading for the sun
Leave the sadness behind
Crossing oceans dry
Deep inside I go
Spirit dreams inside
Spirit dreams inside
What can I do, I ask?
There's nothing left to say
What can I do, I ask?
There's nothing left to say
Why am I here?
Why am I lost?
Where is love?
Lead me with your light
Heading for the sun
Leave the sadness behind
Crossing oceans dry
Deep inside I go
Heading for the sun
Leave the sadness behind
Crossing oceans dry
Deep inside I go
Spirit dreams inside
Spirit dreams inside
Spirit dreams inside
The song ended, and Yuffie, took the headphones off, and put them and the disk man in her waist pouch. “Geez, it sounds like the person singing the song, is actually singing from experience. Or rather the writer was writing from experience.”
Yuffie looked up, smiling. She was almost to the dock. She stopped skating and set down on the walkway, pulling her feet up to her, folding the skates in so her shoes looked like normal walking shoes.
“Hey! You made it!” Yuffie looked up and squinted, her hand over her eyes to block out the sun. Sora smiled down at her, his hair waving in the wind. He was wearing a similar outfit, he had on yesterday. A pair of red baggy shorts, that came down to his knees, and a blue and white shirt.
“Yep! I thought I’d be late,” Yuffie stood up, brushing sand off her behind. She made sure her waist pack was firmly attached to her waist, then turned to Sora.
“Why is that?” Sora and Yuffie started to head for the dock.
“Dad had a fit. He didn’t like my outfit.” Yuffie giggled. “He said I was showing too much skin.” Yuffie rolled her eyes. “Like anyone would be interested.”
Sora laughed. “I’m not. But...” Sora took a good look at Yuffie. “I can see where he’s coming from. But he’ll get used to it. A lot of Island girls dress that way. Because of the hot sun.”
Yuffie stuck her tongue at Sora. “Don’t go taking dad’s side.” Yuffie and Sora set on the end of the dock, waiting for everyone else.
“I’m not,” Sora smiled. “They should be here soon.”
Yuffie nodded, “oh. Who’s all coming?” Yuffie looked out over the ocean, breathing in the fresh salt air smell. The ocean was such a soothing thing. And it was so beautiful.
Sora looked up at the clear blue sky, his face transformed into a thoughtful look, “well I know Selphie and Kairi are coming for sure. Wakka and Tidus said they’d be here too. And...” Sora blushed, “Riku’s supposed to come.”
Yuffie looked at Sora and clapped her hands together, “yay! I get to meet,” she lowered her voice, and leaned over, whispering in Sora’s ear, “the crush!”
Sora turned blood red, and he gently shoved Yuffie, “shush! Be carful where you say that.” Sora looked around making sure they were still alone. “The girls have big mouths...well most of girls do,” he teased.
“We do not,” Yuffie huffed. “And I said I wouldn’t tell. Doesn’t mean I can’t tease you when we are alone.”
Sora rolled his eyes, “great.”
“Oh come on you love it.”
“Sure I looove you bringing up that I...ahhh, hello Riku,” Sora looked up at the face that was looking down at him, turning red.
Yuffie clapped her hands over her mouth, trying to keep out a giggle. She eyed this Riku and had to nod in approval. He was something. Yuffie had never seen a guy like him before. Long silver hair that flowed in the wind. And he had startling aquamarine eyes. He was wearing a tight yellow muscle shirt, that showed of his nice muscled stomach, and blue jean shorts.
Riku chuckled, “what’s wrong Sora.” He set down next to the smaller boy, giving him a strange look. “You got a sunburn?”
Sora almost choked, “oh...no.” He looked at Yuffie, getting an idea. “My new friend,” he pointed at Yuffie, “this is Yuffie. Her um shirt...yeah, um...”
“He saw my,” Yuffie pointed at her chest, “when I leaned over. Whoops, hehe. Hi, nice to meet you.”
Riku laughed, “haha, is that all. Sora don’t be a prude.” Yuffie smirked, and mouthed, ‘Sora’s a prude, Sora’s a prude.’ Riku looked at Yuffie, who shut her mouth, smiling. “Welcome to the island.” Yuffie noted that Riku didn’t even glance at her chest and smirked. Hmm, should I feel insulted?
“Yeah, right,” Sora glared at Yuffie. “Anyway I invited Yuffie. Her dad just got transferred to the island.”
“I've been watching you awhile Since you walked into my life Monday morning, when first I heard you speak to me I was too shy to let you know Much too scared to let my feelings show But you shielded me and that was the beginning”
Riku groaned, “double trouble are coming.”
Sora laughed. “They always sing that song. It does get annoying after awhile.”
“Hey,” Yuffie pouted, “I like this song.”
“Yeah but you don’t have to listen to it as much as we do.” Riku turned to Sora, “remember when Lulu and Ellone made us sit through practice?”
Sora nodded, “three hours of this song.”
“Now at last we can talk In another way And though I try, I love you, Is just so hard to say If I only could be strong And say the words I feel”
“It is a nice song though,” Sora whispered, “someone’s singing about being to shy to tell someone they like er love them.”
Yuffie smiled a knowing smile, “yes it is a nice song. But They should tell, don’t ya thing, Riku?”
Riku nodded, “I guess so.”
“So you’re saying if someone like you, you’d want to know?” Sora paled.
Riku ‘hmmed’ “Yeah. I’d like to know. But,” Riku grinned, “as if anybody likes me.”
Sora glared at Yuffie, who in turn smirked, “you never know. I mean...” Yuffie thought for a minute, “my best friend, who I’ve known since diapers liked me.”
Sora looked away from Yuffie, sighing. She won’t right out tell, so I’ll let her have fun. Maybe Riku will get a clue, and...haha, yeah right. It would be nice though. ‘Yuffie are you suggesting Sora likes me?’
‘Wellllll’
‘Oh this is so great! I like him too’
Who am I kidding, that fantasy will never come true.
“My bleeding heart begins to race When I turn to see your face I remember that sweet dream Which you told to me I wanted just to be with you So we could make the dream come true And you smiled at me and that was the beginning”
Sora ignored Yuffie and Riku and just listened to Selphie and Kairi as they approached.
“Now at last we can talk In another way And though I try, I love you, Is just so hard to say If I only could be strong And say the words I feel”
It is so hard. I wish I could be strong and say the words I feel. Riku I have a crush on you.
“Tell me what you're thinking of Tell me if you love me not I have so much I long to ask you But now the chance has gone When your picture fades each day In my heart the memory stays Though we rant, you're always smiling And I will hold it long”
Sora sighed. That song...his sister wrote it. She knew of Sora’s little problem, and she wrote it for him. Sora had been appalled. He didn’t even know she knew. But Ellone was very observant.
“Hey guys,” Yuffie, Sora and Riku turned around, seeing a smiling Selphie and Kairi. Selphie looked very cute in her short yellow sundress, and Kairi looked very pretty in her white sleeveless shirt and her light purple skort, with a darker purple belt.
“Hello Selphie, hi Kairi. I hear you’re still singing that song,” Riku rolled his eyes.
“Hey,” Selphie pouted. “It’s a wonderful song,” Both girls sighed.
“I agree,” Yuffie stood up, “hey I’m Yuffie.”
Selphie grinned, “yay! Another girl! Whoo hoo.”
Yuffie looked surprised.
“Don’t mind her,” Kairi laughed, “it’s just that we’re about it in the girl department.”
“Oh, hehe.” Yuffie looked at Sora. ‘I’m scared,’ she mouthed.
Sora smiled, ‘You’ll get used to em. After all you three are a lot alike.’
“So are we leaving?” Riku looked out over to the ocean, where Play Island laid.
“In a few.” Sora looked toward town. “Wakka and Tidus are coming.”
