Tidus felt so embarrassed. He couldn’t believe he was crying like a baby in front of Wakka. “I...I,” Tidus sniffled, turning red, “I’m fine.”
“You sure, that was some fall?”
Tidus nodded. How could he not see that stone? It was right in plain sight, so you’d think he would see it. But nooooo, he had to go trip, falling and skinning his knees.
Wakka frowned, knowing full well that the younger boy was lying. He could see the blood, running down his legs. Wakka blushed. Okay, . . . Wakka scratched his head, confused, why was he blushing? All he was doing, was looking at Tidus’s legs.
Tidus noticed Wakka’s gaze and smiled, “really I’m fine.”
“Blood,” Wakka pointed at Tidus’s knees.
Tidus looked down and paled, “oh . . . ouch!” Tidus got a crossed look on his face.
“How come you don’t notice the pain, till you notice the wound?”
Wakka shrugged, “dunno. Come on, let’s get you fixed up.”
Wakka walked over to Tidus and picked the boy up, causing both to blush.
“Hey, lemme go. I can walk,” Tidus yelled, wrapping his arms around Wakka’s neck.
“Really,” Wakka raised an eyebrow?
Tidus frowned, “ok fine, but you better not drop me.”
Wakka smirked, “and what will you do, if I do?”
“You better not! If you do . . . I . . . I’ll do something . . . well I don’t know what . . . but it’ll be very bad.”
Wakka laughed, carrying Tidus over to a place where there wasn’t any sand. He gently set the boy down, and took a heal out of his pocket. “This will sting.” Wakka poured the contents of the bottle over Tidus’s skinned knees.
Tidus hissed in pain, as he watched the wounds fade.
Wakka helped Tidus stand, and watched as he tested his newly healed legs.
“Better,” Wakka asked?
Tidus smiled, “much better. Come on, lets go to the beach, so I can wash off.”
Riku looked at his water prof watch, noting the time. “It’s past ten. Where are they?”
Sora shrugged, “I don’t know. But they said, that they’d be here for sure.”
“We should wait a little bit longer,” Selphie said, looking thoughtful. She was worried about her friends.
Riku nodded, laying on his back, staring at the clouds.
“I KNOW!” Everyone jumped, hearing Kairi yell.
“What,” Selphie asked?
“Let’s sing!”
Everyone but Selphie and Yuffie groaned.
“Oh come on it’ll be fun.” Kairi pouted. “Please!”
Selphie grinned, “well you know I’m always up for a song.”
Yuffie grinned, “me too!”
Sora grunted, the only time he’s ever sang in front of anyone was when he first met Yuffie.
Yuffie looked at Sora, “oh come on Sora, you have a wonderful voice.”
Riku glanced at Yuffie, raising an eyebrow, “and you know this how?”
“When we first met. I learned who his sister was . . . ”
“And she’s groupe, like Selphie and Kairi, and started to belt out 1000 Word.”
Riku laughed, “and you sang with her?”
Sora blushed, “just the back up words.”
Selphie beamed, “so what do you say Sora? Are you in?”
Sora thought. He did have an okay voice. But Riku would hear him . . . and it’d be . . . oh heck, why not.
“Sure, I guess. But only if Riku does too.”
Kairi and Selphie turned to Riku turning on their puppy dog faces. “Please,” the both begged.
Riku laughed, “why the heck not. Maybe we can form a band to,” he joked.
“Ha ha, I doubt that,” Sora remarked.
“Yay! Which song?” Kairi looked at Riku and Sora.
“What you want one of us to pick,” Sora asked?
“I can’t think of any. Sora you pick,” Riku said.
“Real Emotion,” Sora said, the first song coming to his head. “It’s really crazy and fast beat. Perfect for the girls.”
“And the girly boys,” Selphie teased.
“Hey,” Riku and Sora shouted together!
‘They are girly,’ Selphie mouthed to Kairi.
Kairi smiled, ‘I know.’
Yuffie quietly giggled, seeing the mouthed conversation.
“What can I do for you? What can I do for you? What can I do for you? What can I do for you? What can I do for you?” Yuffie started the song, Kairi and Selphie joined in at once.
“What can I do for you? I can hear you What can I do for you? What can I do for you? What can I do for you?” Sora and Riku joined in, their voices quiet at first. Sora hid a smirk. Riku’s voice was as good as Lulu’s. Singing must run in the family.
Tidus and Wakka approached the singing group, snorting at the sight and sound. Not that it was a bad sound, mind you. It actually didn’t sound so bad. “Let’s be real quiet like,” Wakka whispered, “and let them finish.”
Tidus smothered a giggle, “good plan. To bad we didn’t bring a video camera.”
Kairi and Selphie threw back their heads as they started on the next verse. Yuffie had her eyes closed, with a relaxed look on her face. Sora and Riku still looked uncomfortable, but there voices were getting louder.
“Never thought that I would wind up by myself If I told my wild imagination But now here I am finding myself so lost Everyday is a way for me to turn back”
“All the things I see They are different from What I had imagined they would be Everything is different Now I'm getting dizzy spells”
Wakka looked at Tidus, “you know, they don’t sound bad.”
Tidus nodded agreeing.
“It's real emotion shakin' up the world I'll never give it up I don't ever want to Lose this far No more than I can do When I am just too wrong And in my heart I can hear you say, That I am not alone”
The spying boys, listened as the singing group finished the song.
“BRAVO,” Tidus yelled! Everyone jumped, turning to face a smiling Wakka and Tidus.
“So this is what you guys do when Ti and I are not around,” Wakka smirked.
“Hey, It was the girl’s Idea,” Sora said, blushing.
Kairi and Selphie exchanged a glance, nodding, “NO IT WASN’T,” they both shouted. “It was Riku’s Idea.”
Riku glared at the girls. “What? You know I don’t just jump into random songs.”
Kairi and Selphie giggled.
“It’s okay, Riku,” Wakka smirked, “we don’t mind. There is nothing wrong with singing.”
Sora smiled, “it wasn’t Riku’s Idea.”
“Awww,” Kairi cooed, “look it’s Sora. Riku’s knight in shining armor,” she teased.
“Saving him from the terrible lie,” Selphie giggled.
Sora blushed, “shudup.”
Riku noticed Sora’s flushed cheeks, but thought it was from the sun. “Come on, lets get to Play Island.”
“Okay,” Selphie smiled, “but are we all going to take our own boats, or are we going to double up?”
Riku thought for a second, “double up.”
Selphie grinned, “in that case, Kairi and Yuffie can come in my boat.” Selphie pointed to the pink boat, bobbing in the water.
“I don’t feel like rowing,” Tidus looked at Wakka, “can I come in your boat?”
“Oh, um sure.” Wakka smiled.
“Guess that leaves you with me,” Riku smiled at Sora, raising an eyebrow at the boys flushed face. He was redder if that was at all possible.
“Oh, cool.” Sora gulped.
Wakka, Riku and Selphie untied their boats, and helped their passengers in. Sora heart started to beat real fast, when Riku took his hand, helping him in the boat.
“Okay,” Wakka yelled, “on your mark get set go!”
Everyone took off, trying to get to the island before the others.
“Yeeh haaaa,” Selphie yelled, jumping out of her boat. Kairi and Yuffie followed and the three girls pulled the boat a safe distance, so it wouldn’t wash away. Kairi giggled, “We won!”
Selphie and Kairi started to jump around, holding hands. Yuffie just shook her head laughing. These girls were truly hyper. More so then her.
Riku’s boat was the second one to dock. Riku climbed out of the boat, reaching out for Sora. Sora had to bit his lip, to keep from blushing, as he took Riku’s hand and allowed himself to be helped out of the boat.
Sora and Riku held hands longer then they needed to, staring into each others eyes. “RIIIKUUU,” Both boys jumped dropping hands.
“What,” Riku asked the over excited Selphie? He looked around, but couldn’t see her. Where was she?”
“Can you help ME,” Selphie’s voice screamed?
“Huh,” Riku looked around, “where are you,” he yelled?
Kairi rolled her eyes, “she’s stuck.” She pointed up and Sora and Riku snorted.
“Nice underwear,” Riku teased. Selphie climbed a tree for some reason, and got wedged between a branch.
“Hush, I fell, and now I’m stuck,” Selphie whined.
“Are you crying,” Riku asked?
“No,” Selphie sniffed. “Well . . . I can’t help it. This hurts.”
“Be thankful you’re not a guy,” Riku yelled, climbing the tree. He got to Selphie’s branch and pondered her situation.
“I know I’m lucky I don’t have a willy,” Selphie cried, “but it still hurts.”
Riku smiled, brushing the girl brown hair soothingly, “shh. It won’t hurt for long.” Riku glanced down at the worried faces of Sora, Kairi and Yuffie. “Are Wakka and Tidus here yet?”
Sora looked out to the ocean, seeing them just coming in, “yes, they’re pulling the boat in.”
“Go get Wakka. He’s stronger then me.”
Sora nodded and ran off.
Selphie looked down at her legs, at the branch in between them. The angle of the branch was so small that Selphie really did become wedged. At first it wasn’t so bad, but she was starting to get scared. And it did really hurt.
“What’s going on, ya,” Wakka yelled, looking up at Selphie and Riku?
Riku quickly explained what had happened and Wakka raced up the tree at once. Between the two of them, they managed to lift the young yellow clad girl.
Now sitting on the branch, Selphie sighed. “Thanks guys.”
Wakka and Riku smiled, “anything for a friend,” Riku said. Wakka nodded, agreeing.
Selphie slowly made her way down the tree leaning against Kairi, a look of relief on her face.
Wakka and Riku soon joined her on the ground.
“How’s your . . . ” Riku paused? “Well your . . . ”
Selphie smirked, “my womanly parts? Better, now that I’m no longer wedged.”
“Good, lets get going,” Riku smiled.
“Kay,” Selphie grinned, and she and the girls ran off ahead.
