After hanging out for a few hours, the seven teens, well eight, counting Cloud made there way back to Round Island. This time Kairi rode in Cloud’s boat. Yuffie in Selphie’s. Tidus’s in Wakka’s and Sora in Riku’s.
Sora’s stomach rumbled, as their boats hit shore. He blushed when he noticed Riku smirking at him, “hungry?”
Sora nodded, “yeah. However did you guess that?”
“Dunno, mind-reader I guess,” Riku teased.
Ha ha, if you were a mind reader you’d be running in fear. “Really, what am I thinking right now?” You’re cute. You’re hot. I think I have a sinful crush on you.
Riku stroked his chin, thinking. “Something about how irresistible I am.”
Sora sputtered, “what! As if!” Oh hyne. He was so close, it’s scary.
Riku laughed, “calm down, Sora. I was only joking.”
“Ha ha,” Sora laughed, “I know.”
Yuffie got out of Selphie’s boat, and couldn’t help but laugh, over hearing Riku and Sora. Selphie didn’t hear them, so she gave Yuffie a strange look. “Are you okay?”
Yuffie looked at Selphie, “oh...sorry...I’m fine. I was thinking about something...a inside joke.”
Selphie nodded, seeming to believe Yuffie.
Poor Sora. Just being near Riku is breaking him up. I wish he’d just tell him. But then again, I don’t, because what if Riku does something to hurt Sora. Yuffie shook her head, and helped Selphie tie her boat up.
“Hey, Yuffie!” Yuffie looked up and saw Selphie and Kairi smiling at her.
“Yeah,” she asked?
“Do you want to come to my house,” Kairi asked? “Rin is going to cook something goood.”
Yuffie thought about it for few minutes and nodded, “sounds good. Who all is coming?”
“Just you and Selphie,” Kairi giggled. “A girls night out, with my dear brothers.”
“Your cute brothers,” Yuffie teased. “I saw Rin the other day, visiting my dad.”
Kairi made a face, “eww, gag me,” she said to Selphie and Yuffie, “don’t use cute and brothers in the same sentence.”
“Hey! What was Rin doing at your dads,” Selphie looked at Yuffie and gave her a confused look, “you guys just moved in, so how does he know your dad?”
Yuffie shrugged, “I have no clue. But when Sora and I approached my house, this blonde came running out, and he looked crossed. Sora told me it was Rin.”
Kairi eyes went wide, like she was realizing something, “hmm, strange,” she muttered. “Come on, lets go.”
Yuffie nodded, and she and Selphie followed the dark-haired teen.
Wakka smiled at Tidus, “I heard them talk about going to Kairi’s house. They’re probably going to gossip about boys and stuff.”
“Yeah, us,” Riku said, rolling his eyes, “we’re like the only guys around there age here on the island.”
“Oh, what is that smell,” Yuffie inhaled deeply, “it smells lovely.”
A tall blonde walked out of the kitchen, overhearing Yuffie. “Way thank you. That smell would be my cooking.”
Everyone looked towards the kitchen, “that the guy you saw, at your house,” Kairi whispered to Yuffie, so only she could hear?
Yuffie nodded. “You’re welcome. It really does smell good.”
“Rin, this is my new friend, Yuffie. She and her dad...” Kairi looked at Yuffie, mouthing ‘what’s his name?’
‘Auron,’ Yuffie mouthed back.
“Auron, just moved in.” Kairi smirked, when she saw Rin blink his eyes and look at Yuffie. He blushed, remembering. He had saw her that day, when he ran out of Auron’s house.
“Oh...well welcome to the island.” Rin held the kitchen door open, “come in and have some something to eat.”
“What happened to Cloud?” Yuffie hadn’t seen the teen after he left the shore this afternoon.
“Probably went to screw Squall,” Selphie joked.
“Ewwwww,” Kairi groaned, rolling her eyes. “Don’t say that! He’s my brother, and...ewww, I don’t want to hear that.”
Yuffie looked at the two girls wondering, “why? Do you think there’s something wrong with being gay?”
Kairi blinked, “huh? Oh...” She shook her head, “no way. It’s gross, no matter who my brothers with. Boy or girl.”
“So he is really screwing Squall?”
“Ewww, Yuffie, I said don’t say that. And no, Selphie is just being crude. Both boys are too dim to admit their feelings.”
“That’s too bad, they should kiss and screw already,” Selphie said.
“SELPHIE!” Kairi groaned, throwing a pillow at Selphie’s head. It bounced off and hit Yuffie.
“Gee,” Yuffie grabbed the pillow, “I feel welcome.”
“Oh sorry, Yuffie. I didn’t mean to...ahh, no don’t,” Kairi yelled, when the pillow in Yuffie’s hands came sailing at her.
This resulted in a big pillow fight, causing Rin to run upstairs, throwing open Kairi’s door, “what in Hyne’s name are you guys doing?”
Yuffie peeked out of Kairi’s closet, where she had been taking cover. Kairi was poised with a pillow raised, getting ready to throw it, at Selphie who was hiding behind Kairi’s bed.
Rin rolled his eyes, “really! Act your age.” Kairi pouted, and threw the pillow at him instead.
Yuffie bit her tongue to keep from laughing. Rin tried to glare, but failed, a amused smile on his lips, “very funny, Kairi.”
“I thought so,” Kairi laughed. “Say Rin? Can we ask you something?”
Rin nodded, coming further into the room, sitting on Kairi’s bed. Kairi grinned and jumped on the bed, next to Rin. “What were you doing at Yuffie’s house?”
Yuffie eeped, when Rin glared at the three teens. “That’s really not your business,” he said, getting up and leaving the room.
“Aww,” Selphie pouted, “I wanted to know.”
Kairi and Yuffie looked at Selphie, “you wanted to know? It’s my brother and her dad. Hehe,” Kairi plopped onto her back, “I know...” she giggled, “I just wanted to hear him say why.”
Interested, Yuffie walked out of the closet and went to sit next to Kairi. “What?”
Kairi looked at Yuffie, “I warn you...it’s yucky.”
Yuffie choked, paling, “you’re not saying...”
“Yes I am. Whenever Rin and I would visit Cloud and his mom on the mainland, Rin would always slip away to visit...his boyfriend. He never told us his name.”
Yuffie looked at Kairi with her eyes wide, “you can’t mean my dad? He and mom loved each other so much. He’s not gay.” Yuffie felt tears come to her eyes. Nothing’s wrong with being gay. That’s what I said to Sora, so why...am I upset? Because of my mother...
“Yuffie, I’m sorry,” Kairi looked sad, “I didn’t mean to make you upset.”
“It’s not...that I think anything is wrong with...” Yuffie sniffed, “being gay. It’s because dad lied to me...and mom. He told me he loved her...if...if...he’s gay...how could he?”
“I...I don’t know. Yuffie, he probably didn’t lie. You have to ask him and get the facts, before you get all mad at him...and my brother.”
Yuffie nodded, “I know...maybe I’ll ask him.” Yuffie wiped the tears off her face, “I wonder why Rin was mad at my dad, that day.”
Kairi shrugged, “don’t know, but he’s still sore, or he would of answered me. I mean he knows I know he has a boyfriend. What’s the big deal if we know who it is.”
“Maybe it’s Yuffie’s dad, who doesn’t want us to know who he is,” Selphie whispered, “maybe that’s why Rin was mad.”
“Oh...Rin wanted to be open about his relationship, and daddy didn’t.” Yuffie stood up looking mad. “I’m mad at him for not telling me. But I’m not mad at Rin. I feel sorry for him.”
Selphie giggled, “we could out them.”
“Ha ha, sounds like a good idea, but no. This is something they have to work out,” Kairi set up, sighing.
“Well it can’t help to help,” Yuffie smirked, “maybe he thinks I’ll find him being gay wrong. I don’t. I’m just mad, and I think it’s wrong he didn’t tell me. So I’m going to drop hints I don’t think anything is wrong with being gay.”
“Kiss a girl in front of him. That will show him, in a big way.” Everyone jumped, looking at the door, at a smirking Cloud.
“Cloud,” Kairi yelled, “how much did you hear?”
Still smirking Cloud laughed, “enough. So Yuffie’s dad is Rin’s boyfriend.”
“Don’t you dare say anything to Rin,” Kairi glared at Cloud, “or we’ll tell you know who you have a crush on him.”
Cloud blushed. “I wasn’t going to. And you better keep your mouth shut, if you tell, I might lose a good friend.”
Doubt it, you blonde nitwit, Squall likes you as much as you like him. Open your eyes and figure that out!
Kairi smiled, “I won’t. But I can’t stop Selphie from telling him.”
Selphie pouted, “I can keep a secret you know...like how So...um never mind.”
Yuffie looked at Selphie her eyes wide...She was getting ready to say ‘Like how Sora...What? What does she know?
Kairi rolled her eyes, “you about told us a secret, didn’t you.” Kairi smirked, “what is it?”
“I CAN’T,” Selphie yelled, jumping up, clamping a hand over her mouth. “Um, bye, I gotta go,” Selphie said, her words muffled. Selphie ran past Cloud, and out the front door.
