“Christmas this year is going to be so cool!” Roxas gushed to his best friend Riku. Riku Awayuki rolled his eyes. Roxas always said things like this and it was always the same old thing.
“What’s going to be so great about this year, Roxas?” Riku asked. The two teens were walking through town, passing carolers after singing carolers; there seemed to be a lot of Christmas spirit in the air.
Roxas grinned, jumping over a large snow mound. “Well, you remember my brother, right?”
Riku froze up; his brother, of course he remembered his brother. A light tent came to Riku’s cheeks as he looked over at Roxas.
“Yeah.” the eighteen year old said. “He’s only been gone for three years; of course I remember him.”
Roxas sheepishly grinned, “Oh, yeah… hehe, well, Sora’s coming to stay with mom and me.”
Three years ago Roxas and Sora’s parents went through a nasty divorce; Roxas stayed with his mother and Sora went to live with his father. Since that day, Riku had wished and wished that his friend would come back home and now it looked like his wish was being answered.
Riku smiled, “well, then, yeah, this year will be a lot better.”
Roxas nodded, bending down to pick up a ball of snow in his gloved hands.
Riku’s eyes widened, “Don’t you dare.” he said, backing away from the blond.
“You know,” Roxas said, throwing the ball from hand to hand, “I have a great idea for you.”
“What?” Riku said, keeping his eyes on the snowball.
“I know what you can get Sora for Christmas.”
“You do!?” Riku said, forgetting all about the snowball. He’d been wondering what he could get Sora; what do you get someone you haven’t seen for three years? Sora could be different now; he could be into new things.
“I mean, I thought I could get…”
SPLAT!
Cold, white snow trickled down Riku’s surprised face; his eyes were wide and his mouth was open mid word.
“Roxas!” Riku shouted, hands on hips.
Roxas giggled.
The silver haired teen smirked, bending down to pick up some snow, “oh, now it’s on.”
Roxas shrieked. “No, don’t; I’ll tell you my idea!”
“It very well better be a good idea.” Riku said, dropping the snowball.
“It is, it is!” Roxas exclaimed. “You can get Sora…” he leaned forward, whispering something into Riku’s ear.
Riku’s eyes went wide. “Roxas!” he shouted, turning red. “How do you know?”
Roxas smiled, “I kinda walked in the room when the two of you were about to kiss; remember that day?”
Three years ago, Riku and Sora had been sitting on Sora’s bed. Sora had been smiling, being adorable as usual. Riku just couldn’t help himself; he leaned forward and nearly kissed Sora, pulling back at the last minute when he realized what he was doing.
“You were there?” Riku couldn’t possibly be more red, even if he tried. ‘Oh Hyne, I thought I was going to die that day, but of course Sora was clueless.’
Roxas nodded, “yes, and I really think Sora would like that present.”
“But… Sora likes girls… he wouldn’t like me.” Riku said, sadly.
Roxas put his hands on his hips, “I think I know my own twin brother and I say he does like you, he just doesn’t know it yet… or maybe he does and he’s too shy.”
Riku smiled, looking up at the night sky.
“Look,” he pointed up. “A shooting star.”
“Make a wish.” Roxas whispered, closing his eyes.
‘I wish…’

“Flight 902 arriving from Twilight Town.” Someone spoke over the airport loudspeaker.
Riku and Roxas jumped up from their seats, eyeing everyone that was leaving the plane.
“There!” Roxas pointed.
Riku squinted. That was Sora. ‘He looks so cute!’ Riku thought as he watched Sora walk up to him and Roxas. Sora was taller, though still shorter then Riku; his skin was flawless and oh-so-pale, and his eyes were so bright and big, as blue as the ocean.
Then there was his lips…
Riku blushed, forcing himself to look away before he did something he shouldn’t do in public.
“Sora!” Roxas glomped his brother, tears in his eyes. Sora was crying as well, hugging his brother back.
Sora looked over Roxas’ shoulders, holding a hand out to Riku, “Riku, don’t just stand there, hug me.”
Roxas let go of Sora and moved aside, letting Riku have a turn with the brown haired teen.
Riku blushed, hugging Sora tight; he’d missed his friend so much.
“Long time no see, Riku.” Sora sniffed, rubbing his wet eyes. “I missed you and Roxas so much.” he said.
“As did I.” Riku whispered, running a finger through Sora’s soft locks.
“Welcome home,” Roxas said. “Mom’s out of town with her new boyfriend, so it’s just me and you at the house. Of course, I invited Riku to stay with us over the holidays.” Roxas grinned.
“That’s great!” Sora squeezed Riku, then let go of him. Riku blushed.
“Yeah, let’s head home.” Roxas said.
“Okay, but can we please go see all the lights first!?” Sora begged, giving Riku and Roxas his cute puppy dog pout.
Nobody could say no to that look, no matter how hard they tried.
---
“Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way…”
Sora dug into his pockets, pulling out some money. Riku smiled fondly, watching as Sora donated most of the money he had in his pockets to the donation bin in front of the singing carolers.
Sora was so kind and giving; it was no wander Riku fell in love with him.
---
“Well, this is it.” Roxas pushed open the front door. “Not much has changed since you moved with dad to Twilight town.”
Sora looked around the house; he smiled, “I like the decorations.” he commented, looking at the red and green lights that were hung around the house.
“Thank you,” Roxas smiled, “I put them up all on my own.” he said, getting a sad look in his eyes. “I wish you could have come home sooner so we could have did up the house together.”
Sora nodded, “me too.” he whispered.
Riku frowned, patting Sora on the shoulder, “well, you’re here now and…” Riku grinned, “Roxas saved the angel for you.” He pointed to the Christmas Tree in the living room.
Sora’s blue eyes lit up, “really!?”
Roxas nodded, “of course. Each year since you left we haven’t had a angel on the tree, because that’s always been your job. It just didn’t feel right having a angel with out you.”
Sora’s eyes misted.
“Come on, Sora, the angel is long overdue.” Roxas grabbed Sora’s hand and led him to a closet. He opened the closet and pointed to a box.
“She’s in there.”
Sora bent down, taking the chocolate colored angel from the box.
“She’s just how I remember her,” Sora whispered, fingering the white lace of the angel’s gown.
Sora, Riku and Roxas walked back over to the tree.
“I’ll give you a boost,” Riku said, picking up Sora so he could put the angel up.
Sora lightly blushed, placing the angel in her rightful place.
