P-Why did you guys choose to call your band such a thing?
SCRM-Because we were drunk.
P-Is there any dark forbidden secrets about the name?
SCRM-Yes. But that's a secret.
P-Who came up with it?
SCRM-Our bass player Jim!
P-What is the connection between chinchillas and punk rock?
SCRM-It's pretty obvious don't you think?
P-Are you guys rodent owners yourselves?
SCRM-Yes, I (Axe Man Dave) have a pet chihuahua, and the rest own roaches.
P-What other pets would you suggest to somebody looking to purchase an animal?
SCRM-A jackelope. They're cool.
P-Did you know that chinchillas are long-lived, typically living for around 15 years, but sometimes 18-22 years?
SCRM-Yes, but in Singapore they only live up to the age of 5. And actually if you research the Mozambique Chinchilla, they live up to the age of 45.
P-How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard you before?
SCRM-It's melodic power punk.
P-Is it a pleasant sound or a sound of discordant chaos?
SCRM-It's very pleasant.
P-Where are you guys from?
SCRM-We're from the D.C. area.

SCRM-Some of us live in College Park, MD, and D.C.
P-Who would you say are some of your influences?
SCRM-Mahler, Cannibal Corpes, Mingus, and Monk

P-Compared to the scenes of lands elsewhere in the world, how does your town faire?
SCRM-eh.

SCRM-We have a 4 song demo out now, and we're doing a split CD with The Tim Version on ADD Records from Florida, also a split 7" with Tiltwheel from Cali.
P-What can we expect from 'the Chinchilla Mission' in the future?
SCRM-Tours tours tours!
P-If you could be one any movie soundtrack, what movie would it be and what song would you put on?
SCRM-Mask (not the Jim Carrey movie), the one with Eric Stoltz and Cher.
