GOB Used to Be... GOB is... GOB began to get underway when Theo Goutzinakis and Tom Thacker formed their band, "Tommy's Biscuit". GOB started in about late '93, in Langley, British Columbia, after they met Wolfman Pat. The whole band really didn't form until April 1994 though. The band's first CD release (only 9 tracks), self-titled, was released that same year. Later, in 1995, Too late...No Friends came. It was very successful, and a few videos (currently, they have 5) were aired on Canada's Much Music channel. Also around this time, Green Beans and Almonds, a 500 press, 7-inch, 4 song vinyl was released. Wolfman Pat then left the band to spend time with his family, and Jamie left as well. Pat and the current lineup are said to be good friends still. Craig Wood eventually joined to become the new bass man, as well as Gabe Mantle to fill the drummer position (he is also in the band "Brand New Unit"). In 1997, Has Fill Flipped, a 7-inch GOB/Mcrackins split was pressed, along with Ass Seen on TV (a CD which i unfortunately don't own...) Following the succes of Too Late...No Friends, How Far Shallow Takes You was released in 1998. They soon signed with Nettwerk Management (who also manages Barenaked Ladies, Sum 41, etc.) which re-released How Far...in 1999. With a remake of the Rolling Stone's "Paint it Black," their song was featured in the film Stir of Echoes starring Kevin Bacon (late 1999). They played the Van's Warped Tour in '98, '99,'00, as well as Edge Fest '99. The band's next release, originally titled Love and Relationships but changed to The World According to GOB was released October 10th in Canada and in the US in January.
