Well, this was the first time that I ever actually got to see Gob in concert, so it was really cool. I had 6th row tickets, and we were in the Walker Theater, (which is a very small venue, and the stage is just the right size). As soon as the show started, all of the kids in the front few rows, ran right up to the stage. Gob played a really good set. Kept you jumpin. And to tell you the truth, I couldn't stop staring at Craig. hehe And I swear, he kept looking right back at me. Well, me and Mia wanted to get into the pit, instead of just standing at our seats, so we started to jump over all of the rows ahead of us. We made it the the first row, before security, told us to stay where we were... like we were going to listen! As soon as he wasn't looking, we jumped over the first row and we were in the pit. Now I swear to you, it looked like Craig was looking for me, cuz I saw his eyes searching, and when he looked at me, he waved...(don't distroy my story you disbelievers!!!)
They said that they wanted us to go and meet them right after their set, but I was getting closer and closer to the stage, so I couldn't leave. But that's ok. Cuz after Eve6 and Treble Charger played, I met them...well most of them. Craig was first...which pretty much made my night. He was already talking to people, but we waited for him to finish. Finally he did, and he smiled, and walked right up to us, and said hi. He had the nicest smile, and he just looked like such a sweety. It seemed like we were talking to him for like forever! We talked about how not everyone in the venue was really into the show, cuz the place was so small, and when they were coming back. Talked about school, and just little things. He signed my ticket stub, (cuz I didn't bring their cd with me...stupid!) and I got my picture taken with him. (ok, I know this is really long!). Now that was the really cute part. We were standing next to each other, but there was a big window behind us, and we didn't want any glare, so we shuffled around next to each other, (littlerally shuffled), and found a good place. He put his arm around me...so I though, what the hell, I'll put my arm around him...as soon as he felt my hand on his side, he squeezed me really hard. It almost hurt. haha And he leaned his head against mine...I love that picture. But then he had to go meet up with his family, so that was goodbye, (to see a connecting story... Treble Charger Stories )
Then we met Gabe, who got mad, cuz he saw that I had my Treble Charger cd, but not my gob cd with me...but he signed my ticket anyways. Then we met Theo...that was when we were waiting at the back door for Greig Nori from Treble Charger. And it was freezing!!! But, he still talked to us for like 2 minutes, and signed my ticket. He was all bundled up, he got cold, and ran onto the bus. Then we saw Craig for like 2 seconds, who said bye to us. And that's my first Gob experience...what a good one eh?
Going Ape Shit Tour ~ May 17th 2001
This was a wicked one! Me and Mia skipped school just to go to their autograph session for shiz sakes...What an experience that was...we got into an accident on the way to Portage Mall, (the autograph session was going to be @ the HMV), and me and Mia had to walk a mile to get their. (don't worry, the car was fine, but our driver friend had to get back to school) We waited at the mall for 2 hours, because we thought it would be packed...wrong! 25 people showed up to the autograph session. Gob did a little interview with A-Channel, (my buddy Scott saw my on TV that night), and then they sat down to start the session. We first went to Craig, and I got my picture taken with him. (Gob Pics) And then we went to Theo, who Mia is in love with, and she did the tango picture with him. Then Gabe, and Tom...after everyone had gotten their autographs, everyone just sorta started talking to the guys. I had the picture of me and Craig from December with me, so I gave him one. He said that he recognized the background in the picture, and made sure that I still had a copy of the picture, (it's in my room). Then I got my picture with Theo, and he drew a heart on my cd cover. Tom came right over to us, and started talking, which was really cool. He looked extreamly tired though...out of the corner of my eye, I saw Craig run over to Foot Locker, so me and Mia snuck over...we went to the girls side, and started looking at shoes, when out of no where, this arm reaches over my shoulder, and points at a shoe...yep, Craig...he was looking for a mens shoe in a grey, but they didn't have it. So I said to him, "aww, poor Craig" and he laughed. But, we had to jet, so we could get ready for the concert.
Le Rendezvous wasn't packed, but it was kinda full...it was a really hot day, so I got to wear a tank top, and not sweat it out in the pit. Talk about savage! People pulled my hair out, kicked me in the head..half the time I wasn't even standing, but leaning with people holding me up from behind, as I leaned against the barrier. But it was well worth it. The Rock Band, and Black Halos were good. But as soon as Gob came on, everyone went wild! Craig was standing in front of me. So when he looked at me, I gave him a little wave, and he smiled and waved back. After all the hell I went through, just so I could watch Craig play Been So Long, and Beauville, the concert was over. So everyone made their way to the merch booth, where we saw kids from the Rock Band, and the Black Halos...but where was Gob??? I found Craig surrounded by everyone as he came over to help sell stuff. This one girl asked for a bass pick, so he pulled out 3, and he gave one to me and Mia. Then as soon as I got his attention, he signed Mia's shirt, and he signed my stomach, (just cuz I wanted him to touch my tummy)...He said that he would sign me, just cuz I was in the very front all night...hehe, then we found Tom, and he signed around my belly button. Beside him, all I could hear was Craig saying every sentence, "give me a marker you Mo Fo" haha We left Tom alone, cuz he looked like he was about to pass out. We had to go see Theo though, cuz Gabe was no where in sight. While waiting, Craig for some reason, was giving some British girl a whole bunch of merch, and he was standing right beside me. I turn to him, and just listened to what he was saying, when he looked at me, and said, "You're very photogenic"...I was amazed! I didn't think that he would remember me from the autograph signing, but I guess he did. So I told him that he was also photogenic, and he says, "well, I have to be"...so we just started chatting, and he said that he had to go, but the next time that I go to a concert of theirs or whatever, that I should just go up to him, and say hi. hehe Then Theo signed my stomach, and signed Mia's shirt, and he said to me..."Ya, I saw that picture of you and Craig..."Whoa, that blew me away. "Oh really? " I say...Theo's remark, "Ya, but I don't think you should have taken off all your clothes for him though..." haha And that was then end of the night, (I know the story is long, but it's ok)
