France 2-1
World champions, france have again won a major title in soccer. France beat Italy 2-1 with a golden goal in extra time. All looked over for France with less then 30 seconds before full time, France struck a goal. This put the match in the balance and in the 19th minute of extra time, France struck a golden goal which gave them the title.
The Italians were deverstated. With less than 30 seconds left, it looked like they were going to win with a 1-0 advantage. They were the best team for 91 minutes but France hung in a got a goal back at the death.
France are still celebrating the win with a victory parade in France. The final was a great ending to the tournament because all the games that were played have been exciting with a thrilling finish to them.
France have been winning games at the death all through the tournament. They beat Spain with a penalty in injury time. They somehow survived against Holland when somehow Holland missed all but one penalty shot in the penalty shoot out and their number 1 striker missed a penalty attempt in normal time which would have won it in the end.

Wollongong 3-3 (5-4) Penalty Shoot-Out
Wollongong won the NSL title even though they were down 3-0 at half-time. It was an amazing performance from Wollongong who after half-time were facing it all. A full stadium of Perth fans thought they had it won but Wollongong cracked in three goals to even the score and take the game to extra time. No goals were scored in this time and it went to a penalty shoot-out.
Perth looked like they had won it in that as well needing to score a goal to win it but the Wollongong goalie saved them twice from the death again. Perth needed to score a goal to even it but they missed it and Wollongong won the title.
It was an amazing game and one of the best ever in NSL history. It was probably the bast Grand Final ever in the NSL history.

Manchester United have taken the Premier League once again but people are saying that it is boring now that Manchester are almost unbeatable. They held the title when they beat Southampton. They didn't stop there though. They then beat Chelsea and Watford who will be relegated at the end of the season. But is it boring? Manchester may dominate the League but they still have a point to prove to the rest of the world. Their UEFA cup hopes were destroyed by Real Madrid recently and earlier in the year, they lost the World Club Championship as well. They may dominate in England but they do not dominate other big name clubs in the world.
