In 1999, some stirring was happening in the northwest suburbs, a punk/ska band was in formation. It all started with about ten friends and then when it came to who really wanted to be in the band. Only four showed up: Fat Tony (guitar and vocals), Dan (guitar), Big Pat (bass), and B-town (drums).
So with further practice and learning how to play their instruments, GHON started to grow accustomed to a structure. Then B-town didn’t think he was fulfilling his role as a drummer (or the truth: had better stuff to do) So GHON still practiced at B-town’s house (since Fat Tony was still living there. Eventually GHON lost the drum set and had to find an alternative way to keep them all together. So they turned to Cassie the keyboard to play drums for a short while.
GHON eventually got kicked out of B-town’s house, and had to find a new niche. It didn’t take to long at all, they went to Fat and Pat’s parents house in Robbinsdale. GHON practiced in the basement for a while and then found a new drummer. It was the neighbor kid, Sam. He only lasted for a month or two.
GHON grabbed Cassie back and had to move to the garage. That was when they became an official garage band, and was starting to lose their bassist. Well Pat didn’t officially quit until after GHON’s first show in January of 2002.
So GHON played a bunch of shows with many different random bands and had lots of fun. Sooner or later, B-town came back as the trumpet player in March of 2002, and eventually he migrated to the bass. After a while he lost interest again and quit the band. He disappeared in November of 2002 and was never seen or heard from ever again.
So in the end for right now, February 2003, GHON inherited Ben “Ozz” Osburn, from Our Fifth Hour, and Brandon “Freak” Rubow, from someplace we don’t want to talk about. And now GHON is running the strongest it has since 1999. Spirits are back up and they are ready for the future.
