Tour Diary
April 2002
To all of our friends....
I have to announce something that will make you sad as much as it does us ... Dusty won't be playing drums with us any longer. We will really miss having Dusty on tour as he has become one of our closest friends but we also knew he wouldn't be able to stay with us forever.
You all can expect to hear a lot of great stuff from the other projects he is involved in. And we hope you will support him as much we do. We knew this day would come but we did get attached. We would appreciate it if you guys didn't email us with questions, comments and complaints. It will be a long time till we decide who the drummer of Good Charlotte is. Paul, Joel, Billy and I have been making music together for nearly 7 years and adding someone is gonna take time. Until that day comes, we ask that you guys treat all the drummers that may play with us with kindness and respect, as you did with Dusty. You guys have been positive and supportive and we appreciate it. We will try to keep you updated throughout the rest of the record making process.
I have been posting on the message board a few times over the last few weeks (benj.) and I will continue to due so to let you all know whats going on. Josh Freese (vandals, perfect circle) played drums on the record and it sounds amazing. We have about 3 weeks left of recording then mixing and everything is getting really exciting. I really can't wait for you to hear it. Well, the rest of the guys and I have to say thank you once again to you for representin' - you know were doin the same, and thanx to Dusty for stepping in and being a part of the GC family, he always will be. We will continue to keep you guys informed of who we will be playing with on our upcoming tours.
See ya at the show.

Hey guys! We are still in beautiful sunny California. Although we barely get to see the sun because we've been living like cavemen in the studio. The way we are recording this record is one instrument at a time, it's called tracking. So far we have finished the drums and bass and they sound bad ass. I can't wait for you guys to hear it.
So we are going to be in Jersey on the 19th of April. That day we are playing with our boys from New Found Glory, Movie Life and a whole lot of other bands. It will be our first public show since our tour and we cant wait to see all you there ... all you garden state kids need to come out because this show's going to be dope. We're really looking forward to playing the new stuff live but we gotta finish it first. We'll see you guys soon. Thanks for the continued support.
mad love,
paul
I am gonna try to keep you updated here every two weeks ...so check back. Also have you seen the warped tour dates ...we are coming back to a dirty, hot, dusty parking lot near you.
Hey Everybody,
We're back home and out on tour.
New Zealand and Australia were unbelievably cool. Now because of all the support we are getting from down there, it is official...GC has gone Worldwide. We are very humbled and thank everyone for coming out to the shows over there.
So now we are on the road again going across our own beautiful country. So far, it's been an incredible start. We got to play in DC which is always cool cause we all get to hang with our families.
If you wanna catch us on tour, check our website ... all the dates are now up. Personally I dont think you wanna miss this...the bands that are out with us are incredible. Movielife is tearing it up out here...and our boys Mest are with us the whole trip. Sugarcult, Lefty and Midtown are all coming out with us at some point. So we are on tour until December 22 ending in Hartford, CT.
After this tour, a little Christmas/New Years Eve break and then we are headed back into the studio to record our second album. We are really excited about getting back inside to give you some new songs. We are trying out some of the newer stuff on this tour and should be ready to record it in February ... with a new CD coming out in April/May.
Thanks for all the love and support. Keep representing GC!!!! See ya at the show.
Mad Love,
Paul
PS
We as a band and as individuals want to take a minute to say how much our hearts and minds go out to all those affected by the attacks on 9.11.01 . As more time passes we only hope that we dont forget what so many people are now forced to deal with .. for those, there are no words ... only prayers. This world will never be the same ... we hope that in the end it brings us closer together.
Another note: To our chat users ... recently it came to our attention that some inappropriate things going on in our chat room. We cannot, nor do we want to control what anyone has to say ... but if you are gonna be cruel, or attack, or belittle others...we just ask that you do it somewhere else. So as we attempt to upgrade it remember that chat rooms are to bring people with mutual likes and dislikes together. Be good to each other. Thanks.
Keep checking here, The Official Good Charlotte Website, for any and all band announcements. Everything else is just rumor.
