OI! FOR ENGLAND

Who the fuck are they?

Bakers dozen were first formed in 1995 by vocalist Jon,who at the time was still in the band Beergut100.Although this band were getting plenty of gigs at the time,Jon felt there was something missing so went about forming Bakers dozen. At first it was a case of mucking around with a drum kit and guitar and getting a few songs together, until Jon decided to bring in a bassist and a drummer and get things rolling. In 1998,they got themselves a good guitarist and then set about taking things a bit more serious. They played a few gigs around Edinburgh with local ska band Bombskare and at this point Beergut 100 split up so Jon could now concentrate on Bakers 100%.The band got some help from Hedgy of fellow scottish Oi! band On file, who put them in touch with Skrewed up records based in Germany. This resulted in the E.P 'Ripe for violence' which was released early this year(and believe me,its f**king superb!)Things were picking up for the band now. They played a gig in Belgium, where they got in contact with Pure impact records who offered to do them a full length C.D.The band agreed and went about recording 'Divided from the masses'earlier this year.Gig wise, the band have played in Gt Yarmouth with Retaliator and Resistance 77,Norfleet oi all dayer and they also played at Morecombe HITS 2001.On the recording front, they have recently done five new songs for a split LP with Retaliator which is due out next year. The current line up is:Jon-vocals,Gary-bass,Craig-drums and Bob-guitar.Bakers dozen play good fast streetpunk and if their album is as good as the single, then this band have the potential to be huge! Check them out now!
