FAQ
1. how did you start / meet each
other?
well...in the beginning jordan and steve were in a band together(), ian was in a
band(inner city kids), chad was singing in a hardcore band (shai hulud), and
cyrus was in a band (splurge)....inner city kids (ian's band) decided to kick
out the lead singer....then asked jordan to quit his band and join...he did...jordan
and ian started to write songs together and soon inner city kids broke up...at
the time jordan was singing and playing guitar...jordan just wanted to sing so
steve was asked to join and play guitar...then a rumor was heard that chad from
shai hulud wanted to start a punk band. now here it gets a bit strange....steve
and jordan knew chad because of his band....ian met chad because he knew chads
older brother from little league baseball and middle school....chads brother
brian introduced ian and chad at a show....so chad was asked to join ian, steve,
and jordan and he did....joe the original drummer was only in the band for a few
shows....the cd release party for "It's All About the Girls" was
cyrus's first show with the band....

that you look like quentin tarantino?
yes...he knows...people say it all the time.

5. how many CD's do you have out?
Four. we have two full length CD's ("Nothing Gold Can Stay" [1998,
drive thru records], and "New Found Glory" [2000, MCA/drive thru
records]), a movie cover EP ("From the Screen to Your Stereo" [1999,
drive thru records]), and our 1st EP ("It's All About the Girls"
[1997, Fiddler Records])
6. what does ian say in "tell
tale heart"?
"nacho abalaffa barnacle loofties"
7. who's that guy with the chin strap
that's always on stage with you guys?
that's steve looker, our guitar tech...he's irish. "I'm mad ahh give me
some
munchos"
8. how did you get corey feldman in
your video?
well, corey is a good friend of richard and stefanie (the people who own drive
thru records), so we had met him previously through them, and we asked him to
help us out...he did.
9. are you a christian band?
no...we're a rock and roll band.
10. is that steve's real phone number
at the end of "nothing gold can stay"?
do you actually think that we would put his number on a CD?
11. does chad or jordan have email?
they used to, but they don't anymore. (sorry ladies)
12. why did you re-record "hit
or miss"?
we all have different ways of explaining this, but basically we felt that the
"nothing gold can stay" version didn't really capture all that we
wanted with that song...and since we had a better studio, better equipment, and
a better producer for the new album, we re-recorded that song...besides, we
think that more people will probably hear this album than "nothing gold can
stay", so we wanted to release a better version of that song on the new
album...to find out the real truth, you should probably ask all of us at
separate times...
13. can i order merchandise online?
sure, but not of our band. hopefully in the future...as of now, we don't have
any online ordering capabilities...
14. are you going to tour europe/japan/australia?
hopefully...keep checking www.newfoundglory.com...the dates will be posted as
soon as we get them...
15. why did you drop the 'a'? was it
your label that made you change it?
when our albums started to appear in stores, some of the stores would file them
under 'a', while others would file them under 'n'...it was really confusing, and
a lot of people couldn't find our cd because of it. also, we have always said 'NFG'...it
sounds strange to say 'ANFG'. and last, but not least, when we would say our
band name to people, they would reply with "huh?"...it's easier to
just say "new found glory" instead of "A new found glory".
the name change had nothing to do with the record label...it was a band
decision.
16. how come you never update your
website?
the original "official" website, www.anewfoundglory.com, was designed
by cyrus...well, since the band has been constantly touring for almost an entire
year now, it's become close to impossible for the band to find time to update
the website while on the road...so we have someone else doing our new website,
www.newfoundglory.com, and although that isn't updated everyday, it is updated,
and will be getting better as time goes by. sorry for all of the inconveniences
that this has caused.
17. ian why did you cut your hair?
ok this question gets asked the most...the way i got my hair to stick up was by
not washing it...for 4 months...it got to a point where i had to wash it....when
i did it started to fall over in the front....i didn't want to put any wax in my
hair so cyrus shaved it bald....i have a pattern if you have not noticed....look
in the layout from "From the Screen to Your Stereo" i had the gross
long hair...i cut it off...then i grew it back just like in the picture in
"New Found Glory" only bleached...then i cut it off....then i grew it
red which is the picture in "New Found Glory" then i cut it off....its
growong back now and will soon be cut off again... i hate getting haircuts with
scissors so i grow it long and then shave it bald...
18. can you send me an autographed
picture or poster?
its too hard to send it to every person that asks, because we are on tour a lot.
so if you bring something to our show we will sign it there...sorry
