This week we are featuring John Bolton. Since I am doing a peice on Vampires for my next rambling, I thought it appropriate to feature a man who is famous for drawing Vampires (amonst other things ;) Two projects that he has been involved in that are well known are illustrations for the games Vampire: The Masquerade and The Dark Ages and Magic: The Gathering.
"He began working in comics making an early impact on the US market in 1980. An award-winning artist who has worked on graphic novels and prestige format comic books with Chris Claremont, Neil Gaiman, Clive Barker, Sam Raimi, Anne Rice, Christopher Fowler and many others, he has handled assignments for every major publisher in the comics field."
I think his Vampire work in particular really captures the gothic essence of these creatures...and his work in general is just simply amazing...no matter what medium he is using.
