Author's Note: This was written around 4/18/03. Yup, proof I did write poetry last year! I've just been neglegent to share on this site. This poem... in my note when I posted it on my lj I said I didn't like it... But I just stumbled upon and I find that I really do. I only changed one line that was akward for this viewing but other then that it stays the same. I like my theme (inspired by a class discussion I overheard at Lava's highschool, I do believe) it is perfect for the subject. And the subject? A young man that helped open my eyes. A intellectual relationship like that I had never experienced before. Maybe one day he'll read it and know how happy he made me, to know him as a friend and to have him as crutch in a difficult year. We leaned against each other. I hope everyone meets someone like him one day. To be so lucky. This is going to make me cry... I can only hope that he's light will forever shine on me.

He truly knows
Not what he does
Just catches life
And casts it back

Iconic light
Naturally streams
From eyes and tips
Lightening black

Bright silver waves
Enfold me tight
Starting at hand
Spreading upward

Reaching my mouth
He kisses deep
Lips overflow
Pearls from my adored

I reflect on him
Peering back at me
Tragically warped
I seek what’s real

Too bright for words
Eyes blinded by him
He sears my vision
With love’s red seal
