RATING:     5 penguins out of 5 would enjoy this movie. One was seen later on licking a photograph of Tim Roth.

VIEWING EXPIERIENCE:     There is but one word to describe the effect of this movie on me, “breathless.” It is the kind of movie that makes you afraid to breath in fear that you would miss one liquid word. This movie is a perfect marriage of words and action. It’s just tooo good. The thing I loved most was the foreshadowing, references, and it’s ability to reach a higher level and address greater things without leaving the plot behind. Rosencratz and Guildenstern Are Dead is poetry in motion, though I guess that’s true for all of Shakespeare’s works and their kin. The acting was also superb. Tim Roth was in it… If you know me than you know that I want to have Tim Roth’s children… literally. I’m not the kind to get obsessed over people I don’t know but I’m sorry Tim Roth is just stalking material. Not to be biased though, Gary Oldman and Richard Dreyfuss were just as good. But ohhh Tim Roth… *drools*

STORY SUMMARY:     This movie is a retelling of the famous Hamlet by William Shakespeare, through the eyes of Rosencratz and Guildenstern. These two luckless characters played by Tim Roth and Gary Oldman fall into their fate. The story is dreamlike considering the two main characters start out knowing as much if not less then those watching the movie. This isn’t just a retelling of Shakespeare, it’s also a quiet comedy (as in it isn’t a full force “shove it in your face” comedy) and it’s an examination of life. The movie is just plain good. It’s quiet and intellectual and I doubt the young’ns would really get it or have the patience for it. They don’t know what they are missing though.

BEST QUOTE:     "All the directions of the compass don't matter, in the end there is only one direction. And time is it's measure"

                            "What are they?"
                            "They are dead."

CONCLUSION:     See it... a lot.
