Steve Reich - The Desert Music (Freq Nasty & B.L.I.M mix)

Now this is an odd one. Consider it the red headed step child of the breakbeat scene. Two big names, Freq Nasty, and B.L.I.M come together here and make a repetitive kinda funky number that may be suited mostly to the initiated. Don't get me wrong, I love this track, but I'm well beyond initiated. I also put this one on Schizoid-DJ-Funk, but I just can't see people dancing to it, because it has sleepy moments, and then when it's dancable, the bass is kind of offputting. But I love it still, as I have an intense love of the utterly bizarre in all music. And a few words about B.L.I.M. That stands for Boy Lost In Music. And he is, like, so totally God. I love the fuck out of his music. He is a master of production, but that's not what's important. He concentrates on making compelling, subtly emotional, driving, pounding, fists in tha fuckin' air full on dance music. His stuff is raw and powerful, and from the above mentioned track, you'd never know. Remember his name. He will be a star.
