An Ode To James

I shiver at the thought of you
I don't have the strength
To run from
Your bitter hatred
You draged me down
The blow to the concrete
Shattered everything
I try to grasp the pieces
But the fragments
Keep escaping me
I try to mend it
But you tear it down
Some pieces fall together
Some pieces fall apart
I'm near exausted
Just give up
We'll call it a draw
I have nothing to lose
You had everything to gain
I'll shed another tear for you
If you promise to gift wrap
your pain
Exchange our gifts
On the anniversery of loss
I have for you
An invitition to misery
Set aside the pettiness
And join me
in this numbness
I love you
As I love my own
I won't hurt you anymore
If you'll get off me
Your weight suffocates me
I've grown weak
And it's true -
You made me this way
But i don't point blame
We'll never have it back
But I'll plant the seeds
If you'll water them
With kind words
Every now and then
A sunny disposition, perhaps
I just can't stand it anymore
Let it be
