Snappers and Others Turtle Club
Snappers are probobly the most or second most common turtle here in New Jersey (second to the painted I believe), and they are my favorite turtles. I have one for a pet as a matter of fact. These turtles frequent all our swamps, most of our lakes and streams, and many of our rivers. They eat whatever they want, usually whatever swims near or what they feel like tracking that particular day. For info on snapping turtles, check out the two links up above. Both are run by Stan Gieliewski, he's a great guy and really knows snappers, probobly better than anyone else out there. I'll have a good chunk of pictures up this summer once I get to do some more swamping.
