A Connection

Rogue stared off into space that night Logan left. She didn't know him for that long but it seemed like an eternity. She stared at the stars above and curled herself into a tiny ball. He was her best friend. She needed him. She loved everyone at the school but Logan understood her best. She could tell him anything. No one had ever done for her what he had. He risked his life, impaled himself with his claws and then touched her to save her with no thought to himself. She examined the dog tags around her neck. She would never remove them. She kissed them softly and held them firmly in her grasp. She wished upon a star that night, wishing that Logan would be ok, wherever he went and he would return soon and safe. She felt empty without him but those tags around her neck reminded her that he was there, always beside her. He would be back, he promised. He promised to take care of her. She loved him. No one could tear her away from him. It was unconditional love. He was inside her, after she had touched him and he then touched her. His memories were hers. Thinking about them made her cry. She wished she could take all that pain away from him, but no one could but himself. She stared off into the night sky…hoping God was watching out for him and that somewhere he was thinking about her.
