I took a CD out of it's case, Victory Style III. Right when I turned on the CD player and put the CD in, I turned it directly to number seventeen. It was the band Blood For Blood. I loved this song, it was my anthem. It helped me get out all the rage I had for the day. I hated life. I hated being normal. I wanted to be one of those things I had heard about, a mutant. My Dad had once said, "If you ever become a mutant, you're out of the house!" So every time someone would say somthing that pissed me of, I would think of this song. So, since I had just had a really bad day.
I sang along. "Fuck you! Fuck you! Fuck you and fuck society too! Fuck you! Fuck you! Fuck you and fuck the world! Because, my kind! My kind! My kind belong no where! My kind! My kind! My kind are hated and feared!"
Hi, my name is Jason Diego. I have a normal life. Two parents whom are very different then me. Two sisters, Franchesica and Lauren. I was the only boy. And two cats. Aja and Indya. I love my cats more then anything. I also have a few passions. Such as skateboarding and guitar. I also did other things too, like paint and write. Well enogh of this 'get to know me better' bullshit. Let's get back to the story!
"Jason!" My dad yelled, "Turn the music down, your upsetting your Mother!"
"Yeah, whatever!" I muttered back as I turned the music down. I sat on my desk looking at myself in the mirror. I wasn't the best looking person, one of those 'you're a good friend' type of people, too. I hated that sometimes. But other times, it had it's advanteges. Like say you have known a girl for a long time as a 'friend' and she moves away. No long distant relationships have to be in order, right? Just call over every once in a while, or AIM them.
"Fuck you!" I yelled as I hit the mirror as hard as I could, slicing my hand up as I did. I knew my parents wouldn't pay attention, they grew used to my outbursts. I sat there looking at the blood drip down my hand making funny shapes. It was like looking at clouds. Like I could see a headless horse. A second later the pain finally hit my brain. "Arg!!" I yelled.
I ran down stairs, "Mom, I have to go to the hospital again!"
"Why do you do these stupid things, Jason? It serves you right to act so stupid. Let me see your arm." I showed her my arm. "Jason, are you playing with me?"
"What? What do you mean?"
"There's no cut, not even a scratch!"
"What, I was bleeding a second ago." I said as I looked at my arm again.
"Well there's no blood now."
My little sister Lauren butted in, "Maybe he's a mutant!"
"Lauren, don't joke around like that!" My Mom snapped at her.
"What's wrong with being a mutant?" I asked back, not really expecting an answer.
"It's just not natural! Besides, it's not in our blood line."
"They use to say that being gay wasn't natural either, but look at Franchesica! She's gay and no one cares about her."
"Jason, I would really like to argue, but I have to go to work now! Bye honey." She said as she gave a kiss to me on my forehead.
"Bye. Have a good day." I said back as she left through the door. I couldn't under stand why she had to work on sundays, isn't that supposed to be the day of rest? Or was that saturday? Either way, she worked a full week for little pay.
I went up stairs to get ready to go out and skate as I heard the TV go on in my bedroom. "Lauren, you have to ask before you go into my room!" No answer. "Lauren!"
"I'm down here! What do you want?" She said.
"Never mind!" I walked into my room, but no one was there. I looked at the TV as a news 'urgent bulliten' popped on.
"This just in," The news anchor said in a booming voice, "All mutants are to revile themselvesfor relocation by order of President Kelly."
"What?!" I said. Not realizing I said it out loud. "That's not fair!" I didn't care if I was saying it out loud anymore, I thought that this was a tottaly unfair desition made by the newly elected president. I didn't know what he was all about when he was elected, I even thought he might actually make a good president. But almost immedetly he made harsh moves against mutants and families of mutants. I didn't even notice that the TV went of by itself, I was so outraged.
"Jason, get down here!" My Dad yelled as I started to grab my board to go out and skate.
"Alright." I said as I headed down the steps, board in hand. "What?" I was surprissed to see my Mom sitting on the couch next to him. "What are you doing home so early?" I asked.
"Sit down, we have something important to tell you." I knew this was serious if Dad couldn't tell me alone.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Being that you're sixteen now, I think it's time to tell you the truth." My Dad said.
"The truth?"
"Yes," My Mom interupted, "You see, how do I say this?"
"You're adopted." My dad finished for her.
"Adopted?" I asked in disbelief. My knees felt like pudding now.
"Yes," My Dad started, "We were, you're mother and I, were on a buisness trip in Canada when we decide to stop to get a drink at a bar."
"It was a pub actually, but they're the same thing." Said my Mom.
"Right, when we found one, we saw a women place a basket down on the ground and run away."
"She was a mutant. She was dressed in a cloak, but you could see red eyes beeming from underneath."
"So we went to see what was inside, and there you were. We brought you to a orphanig, but they wouldn't take you saying that since you were of mutant blood, they couldn't take you."
"The only thing we could do was to take you in as our own. We got all the medical records of of the black market."
"Let me get this straight," I yelled, "I have been your 'son' for this long, and you couldn't tell me that I was adopted. How low are you people!?"
"We thought you weren't old enogh yet. It was for your own good!" My Mom said.
"I can't belive you two, I'm going to my room." I got up and ran to my room.
"We're sorry, Jason!" My parents sobbed in unison.
In my room, I slammed the door shut and put on my CD again. I listened to the word on the brink of crying. When it finished, I played it again. Over and over again. Out of fury, I picked up a toy truck I still had and threw it at the wall. By now I was crying hystericly.
"Jason?" My Mom said as she opened the door. I could tell that she had been crying too.
"What do you want mother?"
"I just wanted to tell you that I'm really sorry for not telling you."
"I'm over it. Can't you tell?" I forced a smile behind all of my tears.
"If you can forgive me, just know that I'll always be there for you."
"Alright." I said as she closed the door.
