Melted Hearts

The dreams got worse every night. Ever since she had left Remy in Antarctica. Every night she dreamt of draining her team mates.Leaving them close to death. She woke up everytime, afraid of herself. Afraid, because she had enjoyed herself. She had laughed in her dreams, seeing her team-mates lifeless. In her first dream, it was just a little touch. But this one was by far the worst. She had drained Logan until he was almost unconcious. Then killed him with his, no, her claws. She woke up in tears.

"Oh mah gawd! Ah'm goin' crazy!" She whispered into the darkness.

She glanced at her nightstand clock. Three o'clock in the morning. To late to talk to anyone, and to early to stay awake. Rouge was to afraid to sleep. On the few nights she didn't dream of draining her fellow X-Men, She dreamt of Remy. Of leaving him in Antarctica. She had gone back once, but all she found was the queen of hearts she had given him, lying in the snow. She closed her eyes and tried to sleep. But she kept thinking of Remy and her horrible nightmares.

Her seventh sense kicked in, and she felt there was someone else in the room. She opened her eyes, but it was too dark to see anything. Right as she was about to turn the light on, whe caught a glimpse of red like eyes.

"Is somebody there?" Rouge asked the night.

"Non, chere. Not nobody."

"Ah'm still dreamin," Rouge thought, "Ah need to get over the damn cajun! Ah left him, an that's the end!" Rouge reached over and turned on the lamp by her bed. *See? no Remy, just mah imagin-* She was cut off in mid-thought when she saw Gamit leaning against the wall near her.

"Remy?" She said in disbelief.

"The one and only, chere. And probably a good 'ting too."

She stood up, hoping desperatly she wasn't just imagining things.

"Oh Remy. Ah've missed yah so much. Ah was such an idiot for leaving you in Antarctica."

"Chere, it's already been forgiven. All I care about is bein' wit you. I love you, chere. That's all that matters." Remy took Rouge in his arms, careful not to touch her bare arms.

"Remy, ah'm so sorry..."

"For what, chere? I said I forgave you-"

"For this." She kissed him, draining him of all of his thoughts, memorys, and powers. When she let go of him, he was near death, but concious.

"Rouge?" Remy asked.

"Ah'm sorry cajun." She took the deck of cards out of his jacket, and searched for the queen of hearts. When she found it, she used Gambits power to kinetically charge it.

"Goodbye Remy LeBeau." She blew him a kiss, and tossed the card at him.

Rouge woke up screaming. "Mah gawd, it was only a dream." She thought out loud. She turned on the light and looked at the floor. She saw the queen of hearts, half chared and burnt around the edges.
