Troll Names
Trolls tend to follow a naming convention similar to that of the
Wolfriders, in that they name themselves after objects or natural phenomena
familiar to them, or an individual's notable traits or qualities. However,
by elf standards troll names will often seem crude or even insulting, given
that what an elf finds worthy of putting into a name will frequently be
considered repulsive by a troll, and vice versa.
Good sources for troll names may come from a troll's ability at
mining (especially at acquiring gold), ability at fighting, or notable
physical or mental attributes. Some examples from the books include Picknose,
Greymung, Guttlekraw, Oddbit, Itchback, Wadsack, and Old Maggoty.
